Undrafted Rookies Signed
We just signed Scott Burley, Maryland tackle. Not real excited about this
|
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
Some other names we've signed
DT-Brigham Harwell (UCLA) DE-Derek Walker (Illinois) QB-Chase Daniel (Missouri) |
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
Burley is a solid pick I think. Daniel seems like a waste.

Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
Redskins have also signed Maryland center/guard Edwin Williams

Nice. I heard we liked him before the draft. |
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
This should be interesting. I hope they can pull a rabbit out of their hat with the O-line.

Alex Boone would've gone today if he could've gotten the bottle out of his mouth. Parrish Augustus is someone that I'd be interested in. What's up with Cornelius Lewis? |

He is a big fat strong tackle that would be best suited to guard. |

Love, love, love, love, love this. Lots of Terps we're selecting, but this one is a great one |

I agree with Fred Smoot when it comes to fat kids. Sign him up for camp fodder. |

Sorry, should have looked for it. |
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
I think A. Boone would be a great signing for a team, if he could get off the alcohol.

What's wrong with Daniel as camp competition? It seems to me that in the worst case he's an early cut. In the best case the elderly Collins can take a stroll and we become younger at qb. |

Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
I'd like to see them give Cedrick Dockery a try as well as Aaron Kelly(WR) he is 6-5 and was projected to go in the 5th round. Don't know why we picked up Marco instead he was scheduled to go later or not at all.

Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
Redskins signed Josh Briscoe Wr Tennese
|
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
I'm all about the Edwin Williams signing.

I agree. Couldn't hurt to sign the kid and give him a looksy. He was pretty much a stud at Mizzou. I am going to go out on a limb here and say I would think Daniels would have more of a shot at making it in the NFL than Sanchez. Daniels was a big part in making Mizzou competitive, any shmuck with a good arm could take snaps at USC and look damn good. USC is always stacked to the gills with talent as they have a virtual lock on the best of the best in HS blue chips in CA and in the West in general. Mizzou would have totally sucked without Daniels. |
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
I like those Terps they signed. I hope they can make the squad, even if it is highly unlikely they will.
|
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
The pick up of edwin Williams is better than half of our second day picks..

No need to fret, not like he's guaranteed to be on the final roster. |

Daniels; Analysis Positives: Gutty, competitive field general. A virtual coach on the field. Reads defenses well and checks down effectively. Good accuracy to all levels. Shows enough zip in the short to intermediate throws when given a deep pocket. Good touch to place the ball between the linebackers and safeties down the seams. More elusive than often given credit for. Can buy time in and out of the pocket and shows good accuracy on the move. Negatives: May be too short for the NFL. Scouts believe his success in this system is greatly tied to throwing out of the shotgun -- and thereby the open passing lanes and middle underneath passes of the scheme. Seemed to provide further evidence of this theory with his struggles at the East-West Shrine game. Questionable arm strength. Has the zip to complete the short and intermediate passes, but has to wind-up for longer throws and due to his lack of height and release point, longer passes tend to sail. Camp Fodder. Perhaps I'm wrong and they can Collins to get younger, but I doubt it. Edit: Although my mags compare him to Jeff Garcia. |
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
Like I said, couldn't hurt to give him a look though. Still think he would be a better QB than Sanchez. Collins isn't getting any younger and they may need to go younger if JC ta kes a hike after this season or is plain let go.

Yeah i see nothing wrong with Daniels and Brennan playing with butterflys at the end of the bench. |

Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
DG28 -- I doubt it. I think Campbell was more concerned with seeing the Redskins invest a high pick and a lot of money in a guy. When a team does that, the writing is on the wall for the current starter. The high draft pick will get his shot.
In fact Im willing to bet Campbell wanted us to pick up an UDFA QB to take some reps from him during training camp. |

Is he better then Crummy? Because it would kind of have been a waste if we bring in a guy who's not as good as the guy who didn't make the team last year. |
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
We've also signed MLB Ronnie Palmer
Ronnie Palmer - 2009 Draft Tracker - SI.com I've been following Williams since HS, I think he's the best lineman to come out of Maryland maybe ever |

Good point. |
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
Would like to see us keep Daniels but dont see that happening with Collins and Colt already here. He could stay on the practice squad but will there be enough room for him? I guess we still have a few months to worry about this though.

Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
opps double post
|
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
I'm really happy we got Williams...I think he should be able to make the team as a backup Center/Guard
|
Re: Undrafted Rookies Signed
Edwin Williams was apparently rated the 6th or 7th best Center prospect in the draft. Awesome we got him!
