Re: Skins go bowling
Not be a negative nancy but is this really a good use of time? I realize they are trying to build team spirt/work but they don't work in an office enviroment, they literally already play on a team.
I don't whatever have a good time. Probably doesn't matter either way. |

Missing 1 day of OTA's is not going to kill them.

[/quote] I could not disagree with you more. If you read the full post, they had to draft members of the coaching staff and opposite side. It is also an icebreaker kinda deal(even though they know each other). I wouldn't mind more of this kinda stuff to tell you the truth. |

I have never corrected spelling or grammar before...I don't think. Something about reading that word without an s on it was driving me crazy. Didn't mean to nit pick. |
Re: Skins go bowling
Well hopefully this year we can bowl for TD's.

was it voluntary? if selected could they sit out, or workout on a different lane? were the any lane violations resulting in fines or suspensions? i read JZ was telling the QBs which pin they had to hit right before they released it. and D. Hall kept running up and catching the balls before they hit the pins! |
Re: Skins go bowling
I spent an entire high school offseason with my team going around to churches, playgrounds, and apartment complexes uncovering and setting up public swimming pools. Some of those hard covers can get heavy. We developed a better sense of team work, and had (believe it or not) lots of fun. Anyways, team unity is key and I think this bowling trip was a nice way to not only relax, but develop a family fun-like atmosphere with your bros. Work hard, play hard.

Re: Skins go bowling
If the team was going bowling during training camp I might be saying WTF about this, but it's June. Nothing wrong with having some fun and building some team chemistry. This is the time of year to do these things.

I don't think it's a big deal at any point in the year. Teams sometimes do this kind of stuff during the regular season |

I agree 100%. I mean yeah, its a game, we all sit in offices all day. Yeah, they get all sorts of time off in the offseason, I understand that. However, and I think alot of us who played organized football will agree, there are times where it still feels like a pain in the ass. Alot of times if you're having a rough time at work, even just 2-3 hours off to chill and do whatever can make a huge difference in how you approach the next day. Now I'm not saying they should be bowling, going out, ect all the time, but I think taking a day throughout the year is OK at any point... but thats just me. |
