Put your chips in... Winners and Losers.
Lull before the season. I'm interested in popular opinion before the preseason media gets hold of the popular mind.... Who will be winners, losers? Up and comers,(players), and teams on the rise? Losers and total busts?

Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.
Had this discussion w/ a pal @ work Friday. He's convinced the top teams will be Carolina/New Orleans and Tenn/NE with the Pats taking it all. I just don't see it. NE defense will not even be top 5 this year and Brady's injury isn't one shake of in an off-season.
But I do think NO could be very, very good. Will not be surprised to see them go to the SB. In the AFC i won't be surprised if the Dolphins are the big surprise...personally I hope they own the Pats on both games :) |

Saints- nfc south Cardinals- nfc west Bears- nfc north REDSKINS- nfc east Texans- afc south oakland- afc west miami- afc east baltimore- afc north I want to tell you all the Skins are going to do it but... THE SAINTS are going to win it all! :food-smil Cheers, Goat! |
Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.
NFC EAST- Eagles ----AFC EAST- PATS
NFC WEST- CARDS --- AFC WEST- SD NFC NORTH - VIKES ---AFC SOUTH- TITANS NFC SOUTH - SAINTS ----AFC NORTH- RAVENS WILD CARDS= SKINS, FALCONS----- WILD CARDS= PITT, COLTS Pats over Saints in the SB |
Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.
I think it will go as follows:
NFC East- Philly North- Minnesota South- Carolina West- Arizona Wild Cards- Redskins, Falcons AFC East- NE North- Baltimore South- Tennessee West- San Diego Wild Cards- Pittsburgh, Houston I honestly see the Giants and Cowboys struggling, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Skins fan. I also see the Colts missing the playoffs as well. I think Baltimore kicks it up a notch while the Steelers regress a bit. I think Philly is going to be really good, and I see the Skins edging out the Bears and Saints for the last spot in the NFC playoff picture. I also think the Jets will be the last team out in the AFC, with Houston narrowly grabbing the last playoff spot. |

I still see Pittsburgh winning the North and I'm not so high on the Panthers this year, but other than that we see things the same way. |
Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.
Indianapolis is falling apart. Tennessee Has a good chance to dominate the division, but, I'm feeling the Texans. Still going out on a limb,But ... Saints offense and coupled with Grilliams' D...

I have been putting off making this call, but now it's time.
I predict we go all the way this year. |

Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.
I'm not going to put a win total on any of these yet because I don't want to jump the gun on making my official, and exclusive predictions. But I'm confident enough to give you guys a playoff field.
AFC Seed 1: New England Patriots AFC Seed 2: Baltimore Ravens AFC Seed 3: Houston Texans AFC Seed 4: San Diego Chargers AFC Seed 5: Pittsburgh Steelers AFC Seed 6: Cincinnati Bengals NFC Seed 1: Arizona Cardinals NFC Seed 2: Philadelphia Eagles NFC Seed 3: New Orleans Saints NFC Seed 4: Green Bay Packers NFC Seed 5: Washington Redskins NFC Seed 6: New York Giants AFC Championship: Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens NFC Championship: Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl XLIV: I dunno, flip a coin or something. |
Re: Put your chips in... Wiiners and Losers.
Saints probably have their best chance to win it all in recent memory, but I have to say, that's a tough field for them that will likely include 2-3 teams from the NFC East once they make it. It's difficult to see them getting as far as 2006, even though their team is better then it was.

LOL, no joke, just going out on a limb. I think whoever goes 9-7 in the afc west wins the division. |

I predict that Oakland fires Tom Cable by midseason and Al Davis, acting on a hunch, hires Britney Spears as the new coach.

Al and Britney could do a duet of "Oops I did it again" ;) |
Re: Put your chips in... Winners and Losers.
More seriously, I am not as high on the Saints as some of you are. Potent passing offense? Sure. But I remain unconvinced that they have fixed their defense, especially their secondary. And, as much as I respect Gregg Williams, he is not a savior who can fix anything. He's had defenses before which were not so good. I think that the NFC South is Carolina's.

Re: Put your chips in... Winners and Losers.
NFC East-Redskins (why the bleepity bleep not?)
NFC North-Bears (don't sleep on Rod Marinelli as their DC) NFC South-Falcons NFC West-Seahawks (they're back) WC-Saints WC-Giants AFC East-Bills (TO lasts just long enough for them to get the division...implodes week 16) AFC North-Steelers AFC South-Texans AFC West-Chiefs (with a 7-9 record) WC-Colts WC-Titans NFC Championship: Redskins vs. Bears AFC Championship: Texans vs. Steelers SB: Redskins vs. Texans :) |

had to make one change. Titans, not Chargers, as a WC team |

That's ok. Norv's already used up his quota of playoff appearances with one team. :) |

Still like us at the WH though |
Re: Put your chips in... Winners and Losers.
if i new who was going to make it to the playoffs and when the Super Bowl, I would bet my life savings in Las Vegas. Its to early and have to see what big time players get hurt in preseason. Go Redskins
