Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
It's good to hear he believes JC is close to being one of the best QB's in the league. Chubby, jittery hands? I guess Suisham didn't appreciate Placks holding skills. Maybe Hunter Smith will help him have a better season this year.

Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
1. I think the Washington Redskins are going to have an outstanding season and win a ton of games. We've done everything a team can do in the offseason to get better. Jason Campbell is so close to being one of the best QB's in the league; he will have a great year. Note -- I have to say all this regardless, but it's nice to actually believe it.
Hope he's right! |
Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
I hope he is right, too. But you gotta like the confidence and positive attitude at this point.

Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
Dreaming of revelry Matty? Kings of Leon kick ass!
|
Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
I really hope he is right. I like that he actually believes in the team.

Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
Cooley, along w/CP, is one of the faces of the franchise & a fan favorite. Given that CP has issues w/Zorn (or at least has had them) & Jansen is gone, look for Cooley to be more of a leader/spokesman. I don't mean in any visible way on the field, other than by playing well, but more so in public.
Can't be anything other than positive at this point. It demonstrates leadership on his part that he's boosting his qb. |
Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
I just read the whole article - Man, Cooley can write! I expected it to be gramatically correct for the most part, but very basic stuff, i.e. I kinda expected him to write like the other players he's making fun of!
This piece is as well written as many satirical newspaper columnists work, and those guys are paid to do it every week. Good job Cooley! |
Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
Cooley is a crazy dude but he never disgraces the franchise. That's what so unique about him. Good to have him on the skins. Yes, w/ Tony Gonz and Witten it's going to be tough for him this year. He stands to have a great year though.

Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
Yeah he makes a good point about the Pro Bowl. The NFC is suddenly stacked at TE.

Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
Who would have thought our goofball TE out of Utah State would end up becoming such a name player? God if we ever got deep into the post season he'd become a household name.

Is it just or from now until about Week One it seems like there is this unreal amount of hype. They get me every year and is probably why when they start losing I get so pissed. I know they are never going to be like we suck this year don't bother watching but the over the type hype just gets old. I wonder if the hype is is this big in Oakland or KC oe someplace where you know they are going to suck. |
Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
I agree that cooley is a surprisingly capable writer. I like how he organized the article and to be honest it reads like a Bill Simmons article (which i suppose is a complement considering that Simmons does that for a living).

Well, we would have gone to the second round if he hadn't dropped that pass against the Seahawks a few years ago;) But I still love Cooley. Definitely one of my favorites and cut from the same cloth as Riggins. |
Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
Cooley is awsome, its nice to see that there are still intellegent people left in the NFL. That they're not all losers and thugs.

Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
I love the optimism, but we still have an old o-line ..

Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
Cooley makes some great points:
1.) Why doesn't the NFL just extend the goal posts 10 extra yards - that way we can take bad calls out of whether a field goal is good or not? 2.) As far as the smart ball why doesn't the nfl also use this? - I can't stand when the refs run into a pile and mark where they think it should be - if the technology is there why not use it? |
Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
I don't know how I feel about the smart ball stuff. I kind of think that that potential for human error adds to the excitement of the game. Yes, they will botch a crucial call every now and then, but it can go in our favor too (even though it seemingly never does lol).

cooley and fred in 09 sickkk tandem watch

Re: Chris Cooley-Monday Morning Quarterback
^^^ yup, looking forward to seeing your brother have defenders bounce of em. id like to see davis used as an unexpected goal line option kinda like we did with sellers a few years ago. w/ cooley being covered hard last year and the focus of the red zone D his tds dropped a ton so if that continues fred davis might be a nice option on a block and release type play. atleast he should see alot of single coverage when cooleys in there as well, maybe we can gameplan to exploit that.
go skins!! |
