Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Not sure why he's talking trash, but I'm sure Al is filing this one away.
Has St. Louis center Jason Brown figured out the secret to stopping Albert Haynesworth? He seems to think so. In a St. Louis radio interview, Brown said in pretty simple terms that Haynesworth, a two-time Pro Bowler, tires easily. Brown played the last four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, squaring off against Haynesworth and the Titans on four occasions, and Brown essentially said that when the Redskins play the Rams on Sept. 20, St. Louis would utilize a hurry-up offense to tire Haynesworth. "I'm so glad we're playing Washington early in the year because it's going to be hot out there, we're going to be running hurry-up offense and he's going to get fatigued," Brown said. "And I'm not sure if you have watched film before, but when he gets fatigued, he taps out. He just falls down to the ground, and you're like: 'Oh my gosh, is he hurt? Is something wrong with him?' No, he's just giving the guy on the sidelines enough time to mosey on out there so he can get up, go to the sidelines, catch a breather, get something to drink and then he comes right back out. "And then people are like, 'I thought he was hurt.' No, he got tired. But you know what, that's exactly what we're going to have to do when we play Washington. We're going to have to play hurry-up offense and make them tired." "That's awesome," Zorn said with a chuckle, when told of Brown's comments. "What a great strategy." It's probably never good to give a player like Haynesworth extra motivation; as Zorn pointed out, never mind the regular season, "our guys don't want to make Albert angry at practice." And what does Haynesworth make of Brown's take? "Good," Haynesworth said. "Let him think that." Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Weird story.
Brown's probably hoping that all the prints of this article are out of circulation before we end up them playing this season. That way it won't see it's way to the bulletin board. |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Zorn's response is priceless. "That's awesome, what a great strategy." Sarcasm so thick you could cut it with a knife
|
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
LoL, I love Haynesworth's response. It does seem to be a pretty strange interview though. I mean, the rams aren't in our division so for Brown to single out the Skins game and Big Al? Whatever, bring em on, we owe them one for last years debacle anyway...

That was the first thing I though when I read his response too. Gotta love the way Zorn talks. |

agreed we owe them the beating of a lifetime for last year and these comments. i am already more psyched about whooping a lack luster STL this year. httr |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
I went to that Rams game and just thinking of the play where Pete Kendall tried to grab the lose ball and instead of just falling on it he tried to run with it and he fumbled it and that completely turned the game. In my opinion that has to go down as worst play of the year from last season hands down.

Haha yeah it was great. Did any one see the press conference where he was wearing a backwards ball cap? Zorn is grea.t |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Lets just hope that when we play the Rams, Albert doesn't stomp on his head...Haha just kidding, but this Jason Brown guy is a dumbass for saying that. An overpaid decent center, vs. a 2-time all pro DT. Good Luck Jason!

Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
From the way he talks they are game planing for a game over 40 days away. That makes sense.

Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth

Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Wow...
Everyone knows that song, right? "You don't tug at Superman's cape..." I wouldn't want that bull pissed and ready to play me... Mark Bulger should be PISSED ... lol |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Well, in Brown's defense, at least he isn't going and writing a check someone else will have to cash.
|
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
its actually a huge compliment that the entire rams offense scheme against us of the hurry up is completely geared towards one player . . . now thats an impact player.
bulgers been in this league long enough to know how to run an effective hurry up but i still like it. go skins!! |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
We should get Brown to talk more.
|
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
I'm telling you we are the dark horse of the NFL, the so called experts aren't giving us respect but the players there thinking/talking about us.

Not sure about that, I don't think AH is going to care who is in his way that day. He's going to be cashing checks left and right. :) |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
"Knowing" how to and actually doing it...two completely different things. :D
"Knowing" how to and actually doing it...two completely different things. :D
You were editing as I was responding :) . I liked both Al and Zorns response ,,,, I would have loved for Zorn to say " we only plan on Playing Al 15 snaps / game so he won't tire " . I hope we throw the kitchen sink at them !

Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Speaking of the Rams , there WR , D. Avery might miss our game on 9-20 due to injury . Iggles had two more hurt today NFL on Yahoo! Sports - News, Scores, Standings, Rumors, Fantasy Games

Best part of the whole article. "That's awesome." LOL |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Well it's like the dude who wrote up the article on fanhouse said, what zorn and haynesworth responses translate to is "make sure your helmet doesn't come off" lol but we shall see. I for one seriously doubt this is going to expose our defense and haynesworth in any way, shape, or form. And yea...Marc Bulger's gotta be thinking to himself "are you f-ing retarded?"

Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
Thank-you Jason Brown. I can't wait to see this one.
|
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
How big of a bonehead is this guy? If you had a strategy to stop Haynesworth, why would you say it before you played? Dumb a--
Anyone want to bet that Haynesworth doesn't have 3 sacks on this clown? |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
I ain't gonna lie, there's some truth to what he is saying. If you really look at tapes of Fat Albert you'll notice him on the ground gassing now and then but that's OK in my book when you're getting double/triple teamed all f'ing time. I don't mind one bit him dogging it now and then to get a breather, I do mind a punk ass no pro-bowl-showing lineman from another team talking smack. If Mr. Brown were in the same class as Kevin Mawae or Olin Kreutz he might have a some credibility but he is not and so he does not....his bitch ass should STFU and just play football.
Lord have mercy, Albert is going to eat him and whoever is going to help him. |
Re: Jason Brown (Rams) knows how to stop Haynesworth
I'm curious to hear from some of the more knowledgeable folks in here about how does Haynesworth's "supporting cast" here in Washington compares to those he had in Tennessee. I have a biased feeling that he has better teammates here in Washington than in Tenn. I could be wrong...but let's think about this...Griffin, Carter, Orakpo, Fletch, Rocky, and our secondary can be a very good defense, and now you add Big Al...I think it is going to be sick.

I didn't think our DL was all that bad last year. Andre Carter and Kyle Vanden Bosch are both among the ten best 4-3 REs (a dying breed of position) in the league. Tony Brown and James Jones are legit DTs, and each one would start for any team (save Minnesota) in the league. Javon Kearse doesn't have "it" anymore, but he's not a bad LE or first guy off the bench.
Daniels and Wynn are both exclusively scheme guys, but I'd put Jeremy Jarmon up against Sen'Derrick Marks any day of the week as a DL prospect. Jacob Ford is good depth for them. Jovan Haye was a good signing for them, he's probably as talented as Griffin. 'Zo Alexander is excellent depth for us, and I have a high opinion of Rob Jackson as well. Put it this way: due to the strength of guys like Monty and Golston, I'd take our line without Haynesworth over their line without Haynesworth, but I'd take their line plus Haynesworth over ours with Haynesworth. Basically, put another way, I don't think we'll be as dominant on the DL as they were last year, but we'll be better than they will be this year. |
