What Players Are You Most Excited To See vs Ravens?
 

These are in no order...

1. Jarmon. I'm equally excited about Orakpo, but I'm 99% sure he's going to be very good. Jarmon, on the other hand is more of an unknown and has really impressed in camp so far. I really didn't expect much from him this year, but you've heard some really good things about him. I'm interested in seeing what he can do in a real game.

2. Devin Thomas. If he doesn't go, then Malcolm Kelly. Sometimes it's difficult to get anything from the offense in the first preseason game though.

3. Chad Rinehart. Good reports so far. Would like to see him play well. He'll be in there w/ the starters, I'm assume.

4. Justin Tryon. Great offseason by all reports. Darrell Green sais this guy can play. I'm not going to argue w/ DG.

5. Colt Brennan. The guy is exciting to watch. Last preseason he did very well. It should be fun to see what an entire offseason has done for him. He's thrown 1 pick so far in training camp (as of two days ago).


There's alot of player who i kinda know what to expect from, these guys I'm excited to see. Yes, I guess I'm pumped to see Orakpo too.

I'm going to be looking at all of the offensive linemen. The defense is going to be vanilla because, well pre-season is vanilla. I just want to see who makes the 53 man roster. I also want to see who is returning punts and if anyone can take one to the goal? I want to see Colt throw a pineapple into the Raven's bench. :FIREdevil Ha ha ha just kidding. Don't get all pissy!

You about covered it. I would add to #3, the o line in general, specifically Heyer, Williams & Rabach, Montgomery.

To see if either Devin Thomas or Malcolm Kelly can do anything that makes the first or second team Ravens defensive backfield nervous.

and I'd love to him do well. He'll definitely help our team.

2. Malcolm Kelly- same as DT

3. Brian Orakpo- I didn't go to camp this year but all the media is hyping him up about
what he has done so far in camp so I'd like to see it for myself. Heard he woulda had
multiple sacks in the scrimmage...

4. Jason Campbell- I'm dying to see how he performs with his job on the line. I'm hoping
he does well because I feel like he is a great QB.

same as everyone too, i would like to see how the RT spot plays out over the next 2 preseason games. wouldnt mind bringing runyan in for a look if big mike or others dont shape up. just feel like we are going to need depth behind samuels and a healthy rotation at RT if heyer doesnt cement the RT as his position.

the o- line. and the offense in general. most good offense have a certain rhythm to them. it doesn't mean scoring every time you touch the ball. just a certain crispness to it

But honestly, Im ready to see LaRon, I already know what he can do, its just been a few months since ive seen some knock out shots by him, I dont think McGehee will be looking foward to seeing him, bc dirty thirty rocked his world last year. it will be nice to see a few heads getting thumped!!

JC- I think we have more riding on him this year then anyother player. If he shows he is the man then we might just have or QB of the future. If he fails we are back to square one.

Since mostly we will see the backups, I would say Jarmon, Marko, Hagans, and M. Williams. IF Orakpo plays first string, how cool would it be to see him laying Flacco out!

I want to see my man Mason run for a buck fifty, PJ5 light up the night sky like a freaking world war, and Marko Mitchell re-write the preseason record books for receiving.

By the way, here are some updates on who's out

Coach Jim Zorn talked after practice today about the people who won't be participating. Here's my interpretation of that very preliminary injury report.

Pretty much ruled out: Anthony Alridge. As I mentioned earlier today, I saw Alridge walking around in a boot today, and he did not look at all happy. I think it would take a medical miracle for him to play.

Likely out: Rueben Riley, Jeremy Bridges. Here's what Zorn had to say about these two: "Reuben Riley probably won't play because of his ankle, Jeremy Bridges is trying to make it back but he's got to get some reps if he's going to play." As there's only a practice and a mock game between now and then, I'm guessing neither of these guys plays.

Maybe out: Randy Thomas. Zorn says that he'd like to rest Thomas's knee, "but it's hard to keep that guy out. We talked to each other and he just wants to go, but I may keep him out." Seems more important to me that Thomas rest at this point, but it's up in the air. I'm guessing he doesn't play.

Out this time, just kinda because: Clinton Portis, Albert Haynesworth. I'm fine with both of these. The risk of injuring either guy just isn't worth putting them into the first preseason game.

Not playing the full game: Mike Williams. I don't really think anyone is going to play the entire game, but here's what Zorn had to say about how much Williams was going to play. "As much as we can get him out there. He won't play the whole game, I just want to get him in the game and let him get a sense of full speed play, and a sense of how drives take on their own little life. I'm hoping for long developing drives, and we may have a few of them. I hope he's in there for one so he can see what he's going to have to do to maintain that consistency." So that's as much as we can get him out there, but not the whole game, but at least one sustained drive.

Not out: Everyone else, knock on wood.

I'm interested in Mike Williams too. Based on The Mayor's comments he looks god awful and shouldn't be on the field. But if we're playing him then I can't think we'd put him out there with zero chance to succeed and put our QBs in danger. So maybe he hasn't been as bad as JR thinks.

Honestly, I don't even know why the Skins think that this guy who has lost all this weight and hasn't play a down of football since 2006 would be able contribute. I don't expect him to stay with us. If we keep him, VC is a fool.

If we keep him, then I am pretty sure that it would be based on Bugel and Zorn's recommendations. How would that make VC a fool? He came in, probably as a friend of Dockery's. He's gonna get his shot at proving he can do what was expected of him when he came in the league. If he can, then we keep him, cool. If he can't then he gets cut, and c'est la guerre. I still think it was a worthwhile shot. Just let him go if he doesnt work out.

How is VC a fool? It's not like we overpaid him or gave up draft picks for him (foolish things done by the FO). This guy is the same as any camp body the team has picked up, it's just that he seems to be a bit famous b/c of his weight loss. If he doesn't work out, well it'd be just like any camp scrub who doesn't work out this summer.

Of those definitely slated to play tomorrow: Orakpo, Kelly, Davis, and Rinehart. I really want to see what all the fuss is about Davis being such a beast in practice, because we have seen ZERO of that in game action. I was a hater when we drafted Davis, and I would love the kid to prove me wrong.

Not only is Oher the starting RT on the Ravens depth chart, but it would be very cool to see him matched up against Orakpo since our first pick came down to the two of them.

Thomas/Kelly/Davis and Reinhardt. I think those are all guys we all want to watch. In their second year, they all need to start producing or show signs of good improvement. I'm also pretty eager to see Reinhardt, because I honestly dont see Thomas making it through the season.

I'm pretty pumped to see Orakapo, but think his action could be limited, as it probaboly should be if he's doing as well as coaches are saying.

I'm kind of excited to see Colt Brenan and how he performs.
