Peter King is a giant pile of crap. He is utterly clueless when it comes to football. That anyone respects his opinions on the great sport is baffling. There are a lot of people in the world in positions of influence, power, authority or commentary that have no business but PK is the king(no pun intended) of the club. There are 50 posters on this board who'd do a better job. He repeatedly is simply wrong and he often shows his complete lack of understanding of the game. His constant pimping of names and connections is belied by the fact that he is always scooped on stories involving his "frineds". He gets paid to tell us about football. What a damn joke.

haha exactly. I think this is more a list of the top ten rookies that impressed him(which based on draft status, otherwise would not have). Just look at the reader comment which promoted the article.

According to King himself, "Here are the 10 rookies I've seen who've impressed me in the preseason..."

Nowhere does he write that these are all supposed to be sleepers. Perhaps that's what he means, but we shouldn't assume it.

I agree with what firstdown said, maybe he hasn't [B]seen [/B]the skins play. How can he he make a judgment if he hasn't?

Again read the comment which prompted the article. Also notice how most are mid to late draft round picks. Perhaps he should have clarified, but it is quite clear to me.

Given the number of players he mentioned that were drafted outside the first round, this appears to be a case of King throwing a bunch of less prominent names out there, and if any stick, he'll be able to say that you heard it from him first. He will be writing accolades for Orakpo soon enough.

Most of the players listed are late round picks people. In that context I would say his main goal is to give his readers some sleeper picks and late round gems.

Redskins Nation needs to get a grip on it's "the media hates us" complex.

He was going for guys picked a little later in the draft. If you notice Percy Harvin in the earliest pick to make it on that list.

I don't agree with Peter King here necessarily, but I think people here tend to go a bit overboard in their disgust of him when he doesn't rush to praise the Skins.

I don't really care what he or any other supposed expert says about the Redskins. At times I can be one of the biggest critics of the Skins when they play like shit or they sign an Archuleta or Jeff George. I just have never found Peter King very good source of good articles or sports news.

I could honestly care less about our players individually, just let the damn team win double digit games and make it to the post season. That's all i want.

This is more of an "I told you so, I'm a genius" set-up. If any of these players are successful he'll say "See I saw that before everyone else." If not, no one will remember the article or he'll say, "So and so looked good in camp/pre-season, but didn't make the adjustment to the NFL."

I'm thinking along the lines of firstdown and hooskins when it's quite feasible that PK is talking about players he's actually seen in person...either way, if you think Orakpo was snubbed, talk to the other guys picked ahead of him...

Guys, look at the positions that these guys were drafted.. with the exception of Harvin most of them are further down the line and even he is late 1st. I think that a more appropriate title would've been "Unexpected Rookies That Have Impressed" but you should be able to get what he means out of it. King is a dolt but it's obvious what he's doing here; you'd make more of a case fighting for Marko Mitchell to be on there than Brian Orakpo.

Also for the people saying King did this out of bias then I have to ask why didn't he mention Aaron Curry? Surely Curry deserves just as much preseason DROY attention as Orakpo does, never mind top 10 impact rookies.
