fantasy football question

Hey I am not sure if this is the right place for this or not but I have a fantasy football question. I need to play three RB's this week. My roster includes:

1) Ryan Grant
2) Marshawn Lynch
3) Tim Hightower
4) DeAngelo Williams
5) Clinton Portis

Lynch is suspended so he is out the top three point scorers in week one were Grant, Hightower and Williams, but I am considering sitting williams or grant in favor of portis, thinking he is gonna have a good game.

any sugestions?

Re: fantasy football question

+1 on GTripp's notion.

If you can avoid it, don't sit Williams, especially now that Delhomme has forgotten how to play QB. They are going to lean heavily on Williams and Stewart.

And while you haven't said anything about point structure, if you get points per reception, I'd consider keeping Portis on the bench and starting Hightower, as Warner feels pretty comfortable getting him the ball out of the backfield.

Re: fantasy football question

sorry we get points for rushing and reciving yard as well as touchdowns. based on the above advice and further thought I am leaning toward portis, williams and hightower

of course given my fantasy history I can safely assume what ever decision I make will undoubtedly be wrong

Potris, Williams and Hightower. Beanie Wells is still a non-factor in AZ.

I am self proclaimed fantasy expert, with too few championships in all my time playing to truly be that. But, your situation is easy. Ryan Grant is a stud and healthy, Portis against the Rams has a huge upside(non-skins fans agree), And DeAngelo Williams was often drafted this year as a top 5 running back. If you sit him in week 2, you're crazy. And Hightower is going to continue to lose carries to Beanie. Beanie by week 5 will be the td vulcher in 'zona.

Re: fantasy football question

ok thanks I think I am going grant, portis and williams.

in an unrelated question I have brees and flacco. my son just told me I should play Flacco against SD rather than Brees against philly but I am inclinded to stick with Brees until he lets me down. any sugestions?

Just because Jake Delhomo turned the ball over 5 times against the eagles doesn't make the eagles the greatest D in the world, it makes JD look like garbage. Go with Brees.

I BET PEOPLE IN CAROLINA WOULD LOVE CAMPBELL RIGHT ABOUT NOW

Re: fantasy football question

since we're talkin fantasy football, i'll throw out a question as well. i need to start 5 (five) of the following...
must start 2 rbs and 2 wr the other can be rb or wr.

forte vs pit.
tomlinson vs bal.
barber vs nyg
j. jones @ sf
s. moss vs rams
ochocinco @ gb
lee evans vs tb

what say you?

DFI 09-17-2009 06:06 PM

Re: fantasy football question

I would sit evans and play the others

Philly is stuck with Kolb this week and Brees has the WR guns to still do some major damage. I wasn't impressed by SD Monday night, but still Brees has the WR corp and I don't think Kolb is going to get the job done, so Brees might be on the field quite a bit. IN a tough decision like this, just stick with your star.

Re: fantasy football question

I played DeAngelo, Portis, & Freddy Jackson this same week.

i escaped with 1 TD from RBs. we give .1 per Rush Attempt too so im always in good shape with CP as a workhorse 15+ carries.

Hamoskinz 09-24-2009 09:18 PM

Re: fantasy football question

Here's my dilemma, which 2 would you start this week?

1. Fred Jackson vs Saints
2. Darren Sproles vs Miami
3. Kevin Smith vs Skins
4. MJD vs Texans
5. Reggie Bush vs Bills

MJD and Sproles.

Re: fantasy football question
MJD and Sproles.
I 2nd that.

And DFI - NEVER EVER EVER sit Drew Brees unless he has a bye or he's injured. If something fluky happens one week and he throws 10 ints and Flacco is on your bench with 10TDs don't look back because you still made the right decision. Yes, as much as it pains me to say it Flacco is playing very well this season but Brees is an absolute unsittable stud who should never see your bench.

DFI 09-25-2009 12:27 PM

Re: fantasy football question

that is my thinking. i think i am setting portis this week. I may regret it but he has disapointed me the first two weeks. I know he is due, but untill the skins offense produces he is riding the pine.....

JoeRedskin 09-25-2009 12:40 PM

Re: fantasy football question

Okay, here's one for the group:

In a PPR league (no RB points for carries), I need to play a WR and a WR/RB:

My WR's: Manningham (v. TBay), D. Jackson (v. K.City), S. Moss, L. Robinson (v. GBay)
My RB: Smith

Do I play Smith (v. Skins - not a lot of TD's there) and a WR (which one) or two WR's (if so, which two)?

My inclination is S.Moss and Manningham but am worried that my homerism is coming through in playing Moss and sitting Smith.

DFI 09-25-2009 12:52 PM

Re: fantasy football question

the thing with moss is he has been double covered constantly and had limited production. like my delemia with portis, untill that changes i would hlod off I would think about manningham and D. Jackson because of the poor defenses they are up against

Skins4L 09-30-2009 11:04 AM

Re: fantasy football question

Portis is starting to aggravate me as far as fantasy. Becuase my heart always says leave him in... and id wonder what the hell i was thinking if I didnt and he shreds.
I 2nd That. Well Said.
I just feel bad for saying that 2 days before Brees puts up mediocre numbers and Flacco lights it up. :( But, like I said, I don't think you should look back because while luck obviously has so much to do with fantasy football in the long run it makes more sense to go with the odds than it does to hope you get lucky.

Skins4L 10-01-2009 06:57 AM

Re: fantasy football question

I agree. I sat JC and played Brees too.

It was still the smarter choice looking back..
Luck has alot to do with fantasy besides making smart starts.

Re: fantasy football question

Please help, 1 RB spot these are the options:
1. Sproles vs Pitt
2. Tomlinson vs Pitt
3. Mendenhall vs SD

Mendenhall is playing cause Parker is Out, Tomlinson hasnt played since the first week due to injury. Leaning Sproles, but is on the road vs Pitt D which is tough at home vs Run

What you think?

DeSean Jackson or Santanna Moss monday night. Which would you pick? Why?

Chico23231 10-23-2009 04:46 PM

Re: fantasy football question

Desean. Philly is going to be more motivated to play well this week after the lost. He on a better offensive team and they are playing the weaker team. Desean has more chances to score: punt return, receiving, and gets to run the ball on reverses and maybe even out of the wildcat. Santana has a tougher corner to go up against and is much more inconsistent this year with his numbers.

I'm not touching any Redskins in fantasy this year. I'm glad I can separate my homerism and my player projections because I made a point to not pick Skins and it's helping me so far.

Cooley is the only guy that should be considered in fantasy and even that is shaky due to the lack of offense in DC.
