Redskins game balls
Who gets yours?
|
Re: Redskins game balls
Matty missed the game, I had to work looking at the score I'm going to say Suisham ?lol
|
Re: Redskins game balls
I said Defense, but really Suisham stepped up, made 2 nice punts and only shanked one.
|
Re: Redskins game balls
Jarmon's FF to end the game.
|
Re: Redskins game balls
going d
blache gets to rub it once |
Re: Redskins game balls
Nice to see Blache dialing up some blitzes... finally
|
Re: Redskins game balls
almost shit myself on the first corner blitz
|
Re: Redskins game balls
D-fence
|
Re: Redskins game balls
i went with moss. the d did step it up but i gotta give it up for moss, he gets doubled all the time and still manages to (sometimes) make a game changing play.
|
Re: Redskins game balls
Went with Hall, his INT turned the game around. I hope Rogers was watching since that bum dropped another pick 6.
|
Re: Redskins game balls
I went with Hall since his INT turned the game around. But the defense played well as a whole.
|
Went with Hall, his INT turned the game around. I hope Rogers was watching since that bum dropped another pick 6.
Hall's pick was big, but let's not overstate it. The quarterback f'ed up and the corner did what he was supposed to.
Rogers should have caught the ball, but assuming it was going to be six relies on Tampa Bay just giving up and not chasing him. |
Re: Redskins game balls
I went with the D. 2 of 13 on third down conversions is more like it. Not just that but watching the d force 3 and outs reminds me what a good defense we once were, and how good we can be. I think it was a great step in the right direction for the d and something to build on.
|
Re: Redskins game balls
I went with Campbell. He started out like crap, had crappy stats but fought his way through it to throw for two clutch TDs and once again found the chains with his feet. I thought it was one of his biggest gut check games, if you will.
|
Re: Redskins game balls
The D. Blache stepped up as promised, and he seemed to attempt to disguise his blitzes better.
|
Re: Redskins game balls
I went with CP for grinding it out with that hopeless o-line and playing calling of ours.
|
Re: Redskins game balls
Our Defense played great, but lets not get too comfy.........TB didnt even get 90 total yards the entire game last week.
P.S. - I can't believe that Campbell was even an option for the gameball. Like I've said in previous threads, we need a qb thats a leader, not one who is responsible for 4 turnovers, almost 5 if his INT didnt get completely dropped, and had to have his defense bail him out for a 3 point win over arguably the worst overall team in the league by many opinions. I like the guy, but hopefully these outings will wake redskin nation up to the fact that a new signal caller is needed, at least if we want to get to the Superbowl any time this century. If Zorn IS able to squeak out his HC'ing stint for one additional year, lets hope he wakes up as well, instead of his usual bullshit excuses for Campbell. You can only "show progress" for so long until people start wanting their quarterback to show some fucking results. This is the NFL, not the pee wee leagues. I dont see where the loyalty for this sub par qb comes from, but it needs to go the hell away. And for all of redskin nation that disagrees, thats great! Be a Fan!!! But if you really believe that JC is a qb that can lead this team to the next level......well.....you need your head checked. Mediocrity can only be covered up with excuses and hope for so long.......... |
Re: Redskins game balls
I can't believe all the animosity towards Campbell now. One 3 pick game his entire career and now that's the standard to judge him by? And those picks can be attributed to him trying to make plays. Poor judgement yes, but how many of us were screaming (I know I was) for the offense to open up and start putting fear into defenses? People are also forgetting that he also threw 2 huge touchdowns that ultimately put up the points that won the game for us.
I mean yes obviously people are concerned (as am I) that when we start playing legit teams (aka not the Bucs) that the type of game we had today will make us lose, but people also forget that there is time to learn from mistakes and as his 1 career 3 pick game shows, this is more of an anomaly than a regular occurence. |

He was lucky to not have been benched by Zorn, and he used that opportunity to win the game. I can tell you of a QB who is a media darling, who would have been expected to win the game for his team after a dreadful performance, and didn't...Tony Romo. |
Re: Redskins game balls
I voted other.
I give it to Tampa for being so bad even we could beat them. |

Ditto. |
Re: Redskins game balls
D for sure. Moss and Cooley stepped up nicely
|
Re: Redskins game balls
Reed Doughty!

Jay Cutler throws a three pick game, it's an anomoly. He'll bounce back. Brett Favre throws a three pick game and he's a gunslinger, courageous, a winner. Tony Romo throws for three picks in a win, he's "gutsy". You know, he has all the intangibles to be great. Jason Campbell throws his first three pick of his career, he should be benched, and displays bad judgement. Yeah right. I suspect that Jason won the respect and admiration, not that he didn't already have it, of his teammates after today's performance. On a somewhat related note, it was great to see the guys on the sideline getting stirred up. I saw Portis on a couple of occasions getting fired up. |
Re: Redskins game balls
Campbell hung in there, overcame his mistakes, and we pulled out a W. I think that is huge and he'll get better because of it. With 3 sacks, an INT and FF recovery, (Good play Jarmon!), I gave it to the "D".
|
Re: Redskins game balls
Doughty and McIntosh were balling. The only touchdown surrendered by the d was a gimme from our offense. The defense ruled.

The guy plays a bad half and people think that's proof he needs to be benched, as if one bad half gets guys benched in this league all the time. |

I'm actually happy for the haters, now they don't have to make up stuff to hate on Campbell. The first half of this game can now be the new "proof" that Campbell sucks, kinda like that Solomon Wilcots video that Nflnick used to preach with. |
Re: Redskins game balls
Man, I am just happy the D looked good today. Really good job up front and the secondary was solid. Tryon stepped in, glad to see Smoot on the bench. Reed and Horton sharing PT worked well. Big Po getting a sack. It took several games, but this effort was something to build off of.

My thoughts exactly. He just had one o those days where everything went tits up on him. He still plugged away and made big plays to win the game though. I am more encouraged by what he did in the 3rd quarter, because of his first half struggles, than ever before. |

If he is the QB the haters paint him to be, he should have completely folded and lose that game. Going into the half I thought he was going to fold and that Zorn was going to bench him. Glad he proved me wrong. |
Re: Redskins game balls
I'm going with the D.
I know it was the Bucs but if our D can play like they did today for most of the season AND Portis can play like today we might actually salvage something from this season. |

Yeah no kidding. Hall's interception today is the the reason we signed him. Yes he's not as steady as Rogers on a regular basis. But he'll make plays and get turnovers. Rogers...not as much It's perfectly ok to say Hall had a huge interception today and leave out the qualifiers |

It's perfectly ok to say Hall had a huge interception today and leave out the qualifiers
It is not, just like it is not ok to say that Campbell bounced back and threw two TDs in the second half to win the game. LOL. Ok, now I'm just being annoying. |
Re: Redskins game balls
Then NFL Schedule makers...for giving us the easiest schedule at a time when our team is not paying well. Any one who thinks this was a great victory is missing the bigger picture.

I don't think anyone is calling this a great victory...this was a just a win. There are tons of concerns still unresolved, but we live to fight another day. |
