What will we do without this???

Well I guess our 22nd ranked run defense just got a little worse...boo-hoo.

God bless you Daniels but considering you should have never come back to our team after your late career ACL tear, I can't feel that bad for you.

I just hope Ceratto has the discipline not to sign him next year after he rehabs...I know it will be tempting.

I'm sure glad that we invested $40M into one player as opposed to spread over multiple players along the line...

I'm thinking strictly numbers. We released Wynn, Anthony Montgomery has been inactive for every game and nursing an injury, now Daniels. That's three bodies, but production is another matter.

Phillip is a true warrior but your body does not lie. When its time your body dosen't give a crap what you want to do. Thanks for the effort but it's time to cut it lose. Lets give Rak, Jarmon, C.Wilson in there to get after the QB. Andre Carter good pass rush today.

step up, jeremy jarmon... i'm actually taking this as good news if he and orakpo can get the PT at DE...

thanks, phil... good luck on the power lifting...

I thought I saw Jarmon being double teamed one time when AH was out of the game. Jarmon can play.

Ya know Junior Seau was resigned by the Pats. I wonder if there is another LB out there that was formerly with a team that might consider coming back. Hmmm. I dunno, let me think. hmmmmm

Actually, building the D-line has been a priority of late. And we do have some youth that should be ready to step up.

Update:

Redskin Insider

Daniels Has Torn Right Biceps

Just got off the phone with a league source who confirmed the Redskins' fear that veteran defensive end Phillip Daniels has a torn right biceps.

But Daniels, who was expected to undergo an MRI exam today, has told team officials he believes he can continue to play despite the injury, which occurred late in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

In addition, Pro Bowl tackle Chris Samuels has informed team officials he expects to return to the lineup soon after suffering a neck injury early in the first quarter Sunday and sitting out the rest of the game.

Coach Jim Zorn will address injuries during his Monday afternoon news conference.

Re: Phillip Daniels injured?

Now we can bring back Wynn!

Seriously though, re-signing Daniels was a minimal risk so if he's hurt and can't play it's shame but we do have Jarmon and Lorenzo Alexander and in some situations we can slide Haynesworth out and play Golston and Griffin in the middle, and we have Orakpo and Carter who can line up on the other end. And Montgomery should be ready for the second half of the season. So I'm not so worried about our defensive line

I hope we do something soon really, Orakpo had three sacks already (1 sack brought back due to a penalty) on a situational basis imagine his production as a full-time DE it would be beastly.

Re: Phillip Daniels injured?

That's weird, I thought I posted a post on this thread about the idea of moving Orakpo to DE full-time.. But whatever, let me "repost" again..

I absolutely agree with the idea of moving Orakpo back to DE; the results are there when Orakpo played as DE.. He most definitely can get to QB.. I don't understand why Blache still haven't give up the experiment and move Orakpo to DE.. It mgiht be because there's no one to take over the SLB if he moves Orakpo to DE.. Although I really believe that Horton could take over the position; he plays like a LB when he's close to scrimmage line.. Then that way, we would have all of our best defensive players on the field..

Is it just because they are Redskins that I have herd about a player having a torn biceps or is it a common injury. I just cannot remember hearing of any player other than a Skins player having this injury.

Brett Favre last year.

The Bucs have LB Angelo Crowell out of the season with one.

Not sure how common it is, but it's not a problem exclusive to one team.

You mean put Orakpo at DE where he belongs and bring back a real LB? Nah..let's just wait till next year and draft a LT with our #1 pick and let him take Orakpo's spot at LB.
my message was to Matty who insisted JC would have a turn around year this year.
Well it's October 13th. Tomorrow will be October 14th. And you know, it's kind of a pattern like that.

So far, Campbell has pretty much been the Campbell of last year. Which is better than you give him credit for. But then again, players aren't judged by your perceptions of them, they are judged by their statistics.

I don't have any idea if Matty will be proven right at the end of the year, but I can pretty much guarantee you'll look like a fool no matter what happens.

AGREED!!

Move someone else to his LB spot. Because he sucks in coverage and is a liability. He was the on the TE scored that TD on in the Panthers game and he let the TE from the Lions get a crucial first down. If you can't cover a slow ass TE you need to be on the DE full time and not touch the LB spot. These were off brand TE's at that.

F()@K!! WHY!!!

Now they are going to play him instead of the young players. Is Rob Jackson still on the roster? This reeks of Blache not wanting to put Orakpo on the D-line fulltime.

Jarmon, Jackson & Orakpo. Why do we need to resign Wynn..This team can be so retarded at times.
