Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
Vets got to go home at night, a few two-a-days were dropped, there was more rest for starters it seemed in the camps and definitely in the preseason games, where we needed to give our O a chance to click. We've committed a ton of errors, which should have worked themselves mostly our by now, but somehow haven't.

Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
No it's mostly due to a shitty Oline and QB.
|
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
No. It's cause we don't have enough good players on offense.
|
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
Zorn needs to step up and come up as the HC of this team. He needs to discipline the players and not coddle any players.
|
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
No. It is because our FO sucks.
|
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
The problem started when Danny and Vinny decided to go after Cutler and Sanchez and didn't do shit about our OL. Basically they killed Campbell's confidence and as you can see it shows.
|
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
it's not Zorn...it's definately our Oline and Campbell...witha healthy O Line ... JC is still mediocre in "this" offense.
we need jimmy clausen |
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
Gregg Williams never would have gone soft on these guys if he was coach. I was pissed when GW didn't get the job, and I feel like the last two years were a waste.

Grilliams is going to get his revenge soon enough...I won't be surprised if his defense holds us to zero. ...oh yeah he's got a pretty good shot at the NFC title and maybe a SB ring if it's not too early to start making predictions :) |

that has nothing to do with it. even gibbs said if you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen. jc simply has no anticipation in the passing game and it's that's been the knock on him since day one. he does everything too slow, he's not fast enough with his reads, drops and getting the ball out and it shows over and over and over again. that stuff has nothing to do with confidence. |
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
Well it seems like we make a lot of errors, maybe they don't have enough discipline in practice, either way we shouldn't be making some of the errors that we are.

I disagree! I think our recievers including Davis are pretty good, we just have a SORRY ASS QB AND INJURED OLINE. |

I wonder if he will ever admit to being wrong for siding with Cerratto over G. Williams? Man he fucked that one up. Williams was right to want to get rid of Ceratto, just like Schottenheimer did not want him. I liked the line by one of the MNF guys, 'Ceratto was a recruiting coordinator in ND, you have him as a scout, you don't have him pick your coaching staff or run your FO'.... |

THANK YOU! My god im so tired of Campbell it's a joke. I cant wait until december when he is gone |

Clausen looks like a better thrower than Quinn but he's not what we need. We've got to get the line fixed before drafting a qb. |

I don't think that you can even call our o-line injured, more like neglected. Sure we lost 2 guys but the problems started well before that. |

Agreed, but we're looking at Clausen having one really good year in college. Didn't we do that with JC? |

Do that, and the rest of our offensive problems will take care of themselves.

He should have stayed fired when Schottenheimer dumped his ass. Looking back at Marty, he actually was starting to put together a winner, but Snyder had to make a splash. |

At least JC was part of an undefeated Auburn team that got screwed out of a shot at a national title by the joke of a college system. Clausen, not so much. |
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
You know what occurred to me as I watched this debacle? I don't know what our Offense is supposed to be.
If we are supposed to have a WCO, then why do we use a zone blocking scheme? You are not going to create passing lanes like that for the quick passes of the WCO. If it is a WCO why do the Skins have 178 attempted passes vs 147 rushes. Shouldn't a WCO be much more pass heavy? If it is a WCO why don't we have possession WRs, instead of undersized fast guys? Why don't our RBs block better. And QB has to be told to let loose the ball faster (yes i know the OLINE sucks), you don't get to check down to the 3rd WR in a WCO. We don't have the players for what the coach wants to do and the coach wasn't smart or inventive enough to come up with something that works for these players. I really think that the situation has come from the coaching carousel, that our front office has fostered. The Skins have a top 10 maybe top 5 Defense, but the Offense is a mess. |
Re: Could some of the Skins woes be due to an "easy" off-season?
If you talk to a few of the guys who cover the NFL as a whole and not just a single team, they will tell you that the Redskins have a reputation around the league as a "country club team".
Since I am not there 24 hours a day to see what goes on during the off season with players and trainers and the like, I can't tell you with certainty that the reputation is accurate. On the other hand, where there is smoke - - there is sometimes actually a real fire too... |

Our Def will play them tough but are going to get worn down as the OFF can't keep the ball more than 3 downs at a time, less with the expected turnovers. Saint's are going to be licking their chopps all week before this game. |

You know if he said it on air he thought it was important enough. That falls on the coach and the GM. That's embarrassing. |

We do run plenty of zone blocking, but zone blocking is a run scheme, not a pass scheme. The whole reason we drafted guys like Thomas, Kelly, Davis, was to have bigger WRs. The offense might be more pass heavy with a better OL. Tough to pass more when your QB is getting killed. |

Well, there is "some" truth to that, but it's because Zorn is cream puff. It started in camp with no sense of urgency or true desire to battle and win (minus the defense). Zorn is too easy going to be a coach at this point. I was pissed when Campbell made mistakes like fumbling, and the int, and Zorn spoke to Campbell like he was his grandmother. Light a fire here Zorn, GET PISSED. The most enthusiasm I saw from him was at the end of the second half when Suisham hit that field goal and he pumped his arms and raised them like he won something. I understand trying to be enthusiastic, but you CAN NOT accept ineptitude, and Zorn has no fight in him. All you that say it's the Oline, or Campbell, or whoever...you are right, however, the head of this issue IS INDEED Zorn. |
