What do you expect in the Atlanta game
So after a bye, and for us fans 2 Sundays without Skins football, we start the final 9 regular season games. Certainly not how I imagined coming off the bye would be, nor where the state of the Skins would be. BUT, I saw some positives in the Philly game, solid Redzone calls, effective D as always, and the use of 2 out of three of our 2nd rounders actually contribute.
SO what will we see? ARE returning fewer punts - maybe he will focus and improve. Our D has been much closer to actually getting defensive points, and this is the week it happens. That will push us over the 20 point barrier for the first time in however long. We will find a way NOT to shoot ourselves in the foot on each and every stinkin possession! DT, MK, and FD all will have significant playing time and we will win this one in an upset, 21-17. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I expect another ugly loss. Something along the lines of 24-10.
|
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I expect us to be rested from the bye. For their part, Atlanta is banged up. Because of this, I expect a close game.
|
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
while i always hope for the best with my skins, i expect it will be the football equivalent of doing a cannonball into an empty swimming pool.
|
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I expect our offense to play better, because it cant play any worse....I expect a good defensive effort...ATL 22 Redskins 20 missed field goal by Sushiam at the end
|
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I want to receive hope for the future.
I want to see individuals pick up their game and show signs of improvement (with the spotlight on our trio of receivers). |

2-14 season unless we pull off a win against a division rival, possibly Dallas at home. I also expect a blowout at some point this season like the Pats did to us in 2007 to the tune of 52-7. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I think we'll manage another win or two, how or when who knows.
|
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
We'll probably play up to our competition.

I know we lost to both the Giants and Philly, but I think we absolutely looked like a better team in both those games. and that again goes to coaching. A good coach has a team prepared for every game, but our team absolutely looks like a team without leadership, especially on the offensive side. |

Maybe against the Giants, but I thought we looked downright embarrassing on MNF against Philly. It was tough to watch. I'll give credit for the RZ td early on to the offense and Sherm Lewis, but that's about it. We looked like a backyard football team. This week against Atlanta: we score 24 (two Off. TD, one Def TD, 1 FG.) but White burns Hall all day and Atlanta puts up 38. |

Remember, Philly's D is far better than the 0fers that we struggled against, and yet still managed to score in the RZ. Was it championship play, no, but it was a far better output than against the 5 0fers where we literally stunk up the place. edit: corrected the outscored line |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I expect we'll want Sherm Lewis to be hired as coach! :D
Skins 21 Dirty Birds 17 |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I don't know why some of you even waist the time watching the skins or posting here with all the doom and gloom. I say we are well rested and the team comes together with a big win over AT with a score of 28 skins to 17 At.

Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
i honestly expect a 24-14 win i dont know why and you all probably think I am crazy but I can feel it.

One man's doom and gloom is another man's reality. If saying the Skins are going to win each week makes you feel better feel free. But deep down do you really think they are going to win every week, especially with how things have gone this year? Really? |

I'm that way with everything I do even when the odds are stacked hard against me. Why play or watch the game if you go in with a loss attitude. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I'm usually as optimistic as the come, but I decided weeks ago this season is a lost cause and I'm not going to waste my time hoping for a miracle turnaround.

Well I know the season is pretty much done but until the numbers say we are done I'm all in. I have won alot of money in golf playing against people who gave up and/or me not giving up when things looked bad. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I expect a solid win for Atlanta - They are a good, hungry team that is fast approaching "must win" time on their schedule.
At this point, we are one of those teams of which other teams' coaches say "If you want to be a champion, these are the teams you have to beat". Atlanta will take care of business on their home field and get a solid, convincing win over our inept line. Anderson is going to own whomever we put at left tackle and Campbell will look like the Campbell who played in the KC/Philly game not the early season Campbell. We will stumble into a couple scores, commit a couple turnovers and end up 24-14. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
Armageddon! A major beat down of biblical proportions. Atlanta wins big. This is the beginning of the end. A slow death march to the off season circus. The question is, "Have the Redskin organization learned anything from their past failings?" If there is a massive reorganization in the off season, then the Redskin are moving in the right direction. If they continue with the same front office, trade away draft picks and overpay for free agents the spiral will continue.

Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
DeAngelo Hall will have a major game changing play. Either an interception returned for a TD, or a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty that will put the Falcons in the red zone (and then the end zone)
Fred Davis will get another touchdown Devin Thomas will tackle Antwaan Randle El before he has a chance to make another fair catch AC and Orakpo will each have a sack |

This is exactly what I'm expecting (15 yard personal foul penalty) and Roddy White to have field day. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
This is definitely a tough but winnable game, which means we'll probably look like poo.
Since I have both Michael Turner and Roddy White on my fantasy team neither of them will score but we'll still manage to lose the game. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I expect to score 17 pts or less which will result in a loss b/c our defense will be on the field all day due to our inept offense.

I bet you guys are a barrel of fun to watch a game with.

this is a nice turn around from the '06 season when you were adamant that the season was done and the skins wouldnt win out and make the playoffs. while i was optimistic about our chances of making the playoffs in '06, i dont see this team going any better than 4-5 wins. that said, skins 24 falcons 17 go skins!! |

Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
Expect Campbell to get sacked, ARE to fall down and Portis to run into his own men.
The defense on the other hand, plays lights out. Too bad it's hard to win when you don't put points on the board. ATL - 27 Skins 17 |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
Since Ceratto gave us a talented playoff caliber roster we will win.
Seriously though, Atlanta should beat us, but we do have an outside chance. With two weeks to prepare and rest our old players, if our O-line can play well we could win. But our Vinny Ceratto/Mickey Mouse O-line has not shown it can run block or pass block very well. It comes down to our o-line. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
No reason for me to expect anything other than MOS. Atlanta's defense is suspect to a degree, but they can score points, something we've had a hard time doing.
Redskins 24 Atlanta 21 |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
Defense will allow us to hang on but offense will continue to struggle.
Falcons - 20 Redskins -10 Defense will walk away with 3 or 4 sacks. Playcalling will be good, execution will be terrible. Collins will get another chance to play.
Since Ceratto gave us a talented playoff caliber roster we will win.
Ha ha, I love it. |

As a fan of the NFL and realism I can clearly see that our team is not competitive with the upper half of teams in the league. For me, it has not been so much about the losing but the lack of a competitive franchise. Our last competitive win is probably the back to back games verse the cowboys and eagles last season and our late season win against the giants in 2007. The Skins just aren't building teams that are competitive with the top ten teams in the league. The pittsburgh game last year clearly shows that. We were 6-2 going in to play a competitive NFL team at FedEx. We only scored off of two fumbles that took place on their side of the field. If we're never able to hang with these teams then we won't reasonalby go far in the playoffs. When we're blown out our by competitive teams that means we'd last one game in the playoffs. Why am I going to root my team on to go to the playoffs when they are just going to one and done? Build a competitive team FIRST and then they won't need all the fans to ROOT HARD for the backdoor chance at the playoffs and The Pipe Dream Bowl. AND I'm not even saying WIN...just be competitive...scare me...make it close...something...then you'll at least have a realistic shot beyond that. |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I see our D-fence getting the win for us, our offense struggling but able to get a late field goal to win 24-21.HTTR
We cant lose'em all... |
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I hope to see Marko Mitchel get some playin time
|
Re: What do you expect in the Atlanta game
I'd expect the Redskins to win 17-10. I am sure the Redskins' defense will stop Michael Turner, so the Skins probably only allow one "lucky touchdown" from Tony Gonzalez and a FG before halftime. Fred Davis and Clinton Portis will score a TD. That's my expectation.
