Obama is trying to scam us!
I am so glad people actually check this stuff, and shocked ABC actually broke this story (i thought they were on his payroll?).

Re: Obama is trying to scam us!
omg! what should we do?
|
Re: Obama is trying to scam us!
Definitely interesting how many mistakes there are. And the administration's response is "human's make mistakes." No shit. But those are repeated egregious errors, all of which are statistically in favor of the recovery spending.
The thread title is a fail though. |

Maybe start a website where we try and raise money to buy DC Metro bus ads to... wait...... damn. |

Late Monday, officials with the Recovery Board created to track the stimulus spending, said the mistakes in crediting nonexistent congressional districts were caused by human error. "We report what the recipients submit to us," said Ed Pound, Communications Director for the Board. They then said this: We expected all along that recipients would make mistakes on their congressional districts, on jobs numbers, on award amounts, and so on. Human beings make mistakes," Pound said. Lets see. I know there are going to be mistakes but I don't take the time to check for these mistakes THAT I KNOW are coming. Goverment at its best. How will they ever keep up with all the paper work involved in health care? I guess that explains why Medicare gets ripped off to the tune of 60 billion. |
Re: Obama is trying to scam us!
those numbers are all subjective. is it jobs created, or jobs saves, or both? and if this is what its like for the first 6 months of his presidency, what is it going to be like towards the end? funny how the issues aren't being discussed, like Afghanistan. and first, your self employed. i cant believe with what your paying, you aren't willing to try something else

I'm guessing your talking about what I pay for health ins. Yes its not cheap now but lets fix that not add layers and layers of goverment regulation to make things worse. I have 0% confidence that any goverment agency can make my health ins. better and cheaper. I'm switching my current plan in Jan to a Health Savings Plan which will reduce my cost around 40% if we don't have anything major happen. If we have a major issue then I won't save but about 10%. Every year I go without something major the more that goes into that saving account and the more I will save. This is also one of the plans that the Dems want to do away with because the savings part is not taxed. Imagine that, They want the money saved to pay medical bills taxed. Also we know those number are subjective but that makes it OK to also make up districts that are not there. |
Re: Obama is trying to scam us!
so you are content on your premiums going up every year?
so you are content on your premiums going up every year?
Actually my premiums are going down this year with a new plan. So medicare has not gone up each year? How about how it does not cover things it once did and people now have to spend hundreds of dollars each month for suplimental ins. to make up for its short falls? Once again I just don't see the goverment making all these mandates without increasing cost. The two just don't go together. |
Re: Obama is trying to scam us!
We're absolutely being lied to by the Administration and when they're caught, they just shrug it off, blame American citizens and don't fix their records. We have no idea where the Stimulus money is going, nor will we.
Jobs Saved or Created in Congressional Districts That Don't Exist - ABC News Exclusive: Jobs 'Saved or Created' in Congressional Districts That Don't Exist Human Error Blamed for Crediting New Stimulus Jobs to Nonexistent Places Here's a stimulus success story: In Arizona's 15th congressional district, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that's what the Web site set up by the Obama administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says. Share Discrepancies on government web site call into question stimulus spending. There's one problem, though: There is no 15th congressional district in Arizona; the state has only eight districts. And ABC News has found many more entries for projects like this in places that are incorrectly identified. Late Monday, officials with the Recovery Board created to track the stimulus spending, said the mistakes in crediting nonexistent congressional districts were caused by human error. "We report what the recipients submit to us," said Ed Pound, Communications Director for the Board. Pound told ABC News the board receives declarations from the recipients - state governments, federal agencies and universities - of stimulus money about what program is being funded. "Some recipients clearly don't know what congressional district they live in, so they appear to be just throwing in any number. We expected all along that recipients would make mistakes on their congressional districts, on jobs numbers, on award amounts, and so on. Human beings make mistakes," Pound said. The issue has raised hackles on Capitol Hill. Rep. David Obey, D-Wisc, who chairs the powerful House appropriations Committee, issued a paper statement demanding that the recovery.gov Web site be updated. "The inaccuracies on recovery.gov that have come to light are outrageous and the Administration owes itself, the Congress, and every American a commitment to work night and day to correct the ludicrous mistakes."
This is not the only case of fraudulent Not only AZ, but OK, IA, CT...even records for the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and other US Territories have been found to be inaccurate and jobs being reported as created are in districts that don't exist! These people want to be trusted to run our heathcare? What a joke. |
Re: Obama is trying to scam us!
Hey since Obama is from Chicago there has got to be a way to work a dead people joke into this somehow!

Re: Obama is trying to scam us!
Well lets be fair and assume thier number are corect. From what I read off their site we have spent around 160 billion and they say its created 640,329 jobs. So we are spending around 250 thousand to create each job. Now thats goverment in action.

I forgot about those famous FEMA cards. Our area just had a bad storm and several of my customers had flooding and are now having to deal with the National Flood Agency and man what a pain in the ass. I had one customer who had 4 rental homes on the same block and they sent out 4 different adjusters one for each house. Two of them took pictures of the same house and the other took some pictures of some house not even on the same block. I have had to go out there three times now to take the pictures myself and send them to the correct person. I don't mind doing that but its a joke to see how they operate. I'm sure the problems only happen with the National Flood Program and they will never have any of these issues with health care. |

I don't think you get the big picture? It's like the philosophy that you must have more money as you have more checks in the checkbook. If the budget looks a little tight, we still have more states...right? 57...58...59....CAN I get a 60? |

Nice . I heard someone the other night saying " the Gov't creates two jobs by ... having one man break windows , thus creating two jobs , 1) the custodian cleaning the broken glass ,2) the glass man installing the window :) . |

Thats way off. Something like that in goverment would create like 15 jobs. First you have someone making up the laws on how to break the windows, a safty advisor on broken glass, union director, office mgr. of broken glass, site safty advisor, site mgr, site forman, safty inspector, EPA regulator, EPA project mgr., OSAH site advisor, clean up man, EPA disposal director, transportation of hazardous materals director, |

But it'd take 16 months from the time they decided to break the window until they finally replaced it. Meanwhile for 8 months in the middle the people living in the house would be cold because there was a missing window. So then they have to move them to a FEMA truck...which is a whole bunch of other jobs. |

republicans talking about FEMA. now thats funny

The trailer would never make it there and end up sitting in some lot. So then they would need to hire more people to figure out why they cannot get the trailer from point A to point B. |

Re: Obama is trying to scam us!
USA TODAY was among those that found examples of errors in that data, such as a Texas housing authority mistakenly reporting 450 jobs created by a $26,000 roofing project that actually employed six people.
Republicans said the glitches showed that the White House was wrong to tout the job figures. The panel's top Republican, Darrell Issa of California, called the jobs number "propaganda ... designed to serve a political agenda." Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind., said, "I feel like I'm listening to a baloney factory." The administration plans to offer "streamlined guidance" to recipients before the next reporting deadline in January to clarify how they should calculate and report their jobs numbers, Danny Werfel of the White House budget office wrote to Dodaro in response to the GAO findings.
