David Boston
How many of u think that Eagles would try to trade for David Boston if TO deal falls through. I think they should forget TO and go for Boston, since TO has more character problems compare to Boston.
Plus its will be lot easier to cover Boston than TO for our secondary. |
A healthy and motivated David Boston is no easier to cover than TO.
Are you talking about the same David Boston who once told his teammates to go easy on him because his newly pierced nipples were sensitive?
If I remember right, he was nearly cut by the Chargers last year because of his attitude and his tendency to skip practices. Then again, his near release could be have been a result of a clash with Marty's ego. Anyone know if Tai Streets is leaning toward any team? I think he could be poised for a breakout season under the right circumstances |

david boston gave the redskins secondary fits when he played for the cardinals.i agree with matty,he's just as hard or harder to cover than crybaby TO is. |
Boston has got more of an attitude problem than TO. The dude's huge, too. When his head is on right, no one can defend him.

Because he is huge, he has lost his speed. I remember last year when he was in Marty's doghouse, in one of the NFL shows they mentioned that his big body is causing him more harm. They said he is gym rat and as he gets bigger with lean muscles he gets slower. |
David Boston is an amazing player when he's at his prime and playing, which is unfortunatly rare. David Boston could be the premier receiver in this league if he was on a decent team and worked hard!
I don't even think he needs to be on a decent team. Just throw the ball up in the air!
I think David Boston sucks and his career is on the downside. What has he done lately? His biceps are too damn big for a WR ... he probably can't reach up for the ball anymore. TO is head and shoulders above Boston.
Boston didn't leave Arizona that long ago. Is he already up for free agency or are the Iggles looking to trade for him?
Personally I'm glad the Cards got rid of him. Boldin stepped right in to fill his shoes and more, as a rookie!!!! |
Jackson was just re-signed by the Seahawks, so the Eagles are left with whole bunch of suck as far as remaining free agent WRs are concerned. My biggest fear is that they push to sign McCants. Aside from Darnerien, they're left with Tai Streets, Dez White or Kevin Dyson. That's not really an upgrade over Thrash and Pinkston.
They will almost definitely draft a WR (Reggie Williams, Michael Clayton, Lee Evans or Michael Jenkins). I think TO has already made enemies in Baltimore so I wouldn't be surprised if he still ends up in Philly via a trade with the Ravens. Legally, the Ravens own his rights... no doubt about it. As far as Boston is concerned...Reid wouldn't put up with his crap for a minute. |
Living in San Diego, I have to weigh in on this. Boston is an amazing physical specimen but unfortunately, his head is seriously messed up. One of the reasons Brees was having a tough time (and there are many) was that Boston wouldn't bother running patterns unless he was primary. It's not hard to cover receivers if they don't move. The local stations used to count the number of plays he took off per game and it was something serious. Boston was motivated two years ago to get out of Arizona and get a big contract. He got both and couldn't give a damn about anything now. he is a cancer for any team.

For the above poster, don't undercut Dez White. I know he's been a disappointment thus far in the NFL, but I think the kid will take off once he gets a QB. Grossman is starting to come around but you don't get a ton of looks with Booker on the other side.

Would you be comfortable going into training camp with Dez as your #1 receiver? I wouldn't. |

ESPN the Magazine did an article on him awhile back, I think right after he signed with San Diego. Them were talking about the number of pills he takes daily to keep up that size...it was upwards of 100+. He probably went to the west coast to be closer to Balco. He is to big to be a productive WR anymore. I know that almost seems like a stupid comment but I really think that his body just isn't able to handle the movements needed to make many catches. his flexablility can't be what it once was. And all that extra weight definately slows him down. He should lose about 25 lbs and he'll be a monster again. |

  That's just insane. |
I'd feel more comfortable with Dez White than James Thrash =p
So apparently the Dolphins are close to finalizing a deal for Boston, but does anyone know what the Chargers are getting in return?

I believe the Fins are offering half an egg salad sandwich on rye, with no pickle ... Chargers trying to talk them into upgrading their offer to pastrami on sliced sourdough and a bag of chips. |
I've heard a third round pick in the news, which seems kind of low, for a potential big play reciever. I just hope somebody other than the eagles gets him. I kind of surprised the eagles havn't gone after him.
A 3rd round pick is a steal. If he can get to a coach that can control him and make him straighten up he is definitly a force to be reckoned with. I don't think Wonstat is that coach though.
I don't know if someone brought up this point or not but the WR coach Boston had so much success under is now in the same position with Miami and think that'd be a good fit for him lined up across from an up and coming player in Chris Chambers. I know my parents would love it as they r die hard fin fans but I just hope its anyone other than phili.
I think the Eagles are focusing on their new secret play where Mcnabb throws a hail mary sprints 50 yards and catches it himself.
hahaha, Sitting!
Philly is probably figuring TO is making the Ravens want to get rid of him and they'll end up with him anyway! Hope they do and he brings his cancer to the Iggles!!!! Glad we didn't go for him!!!
trouble is who's going to throw him the ball in Miami? Their QB situation is a joke, Feely and Fiedler? Good luck.
I think feeley could be decent and everyone seems to forget that fiedler has the best winning percentage of any active qb and all this w/o a decent group of receivers. I think with the addition of a player of Boston's skill, and his head is on straight, that player can make an average qb and make him better. Plus it wouldn't suprise me to see them try to move up a bit on draft day to get Rothesberger or however u spell his name or the more likely pick of moving up and drafting Philip Rivers. They might also try to pick up Kurt Warner next year or over the summer.
Miami must know something I don't, cause Feeley never impressed me. He sat behind a Detmer for goodness sake.
Point is neither Feely or Fiedler are guys that are gonna light up the scoreboard. Fiedler has won his share of ballgames, but he hasn't been able to get the phins over the hump. I'm really surprised they didn't make a play for someone like Garcia.
When you have Ricky you just need someone who can make the easy throws. Let Chambers/Boston use their bodies!
Whether the Fins go into the draft and select a QB in the first 2 rounds will be a good indication of how much confidence they have in Feeley/Fiedler. If I were them, I'd trade up and get Roethlisberger or Rivers.
I have a feeling SD is trying to trade down and get Rivers.
i would take rivers in a second guys.i have watched him play frequently over the last few years at nc state and that guy is scary.i think that boston will end up in miami.
from what i have heard, they are the only team intrested in him. |
rivers' mentor norm chow is the man!
i hear the dolphins have offered jay fielders ears to fedex for an airplane.has anybody noticed the guy has the biggest ears in the history of the world?if he stands on a hill and a stiff breeze comes along, that dude's airborn man.
I have been saying for a little over two months now that Rivers is definately going to be gone before #10. He has been hyped up in the last two weeks as possibly surpassing Roethlisberger on most teams' draft boards. What were people watching beforehand? This guy is going to be a monster by his third year.
If I were choosing a QB in the draft, I'd have him in a dead heat with Eli Manning and several steps above Roethlisberger. |
Dolphins on verge of acquiring WR Boston. Trade for David Boston from San Diego to the Miami Dolphins could be completed by Tuesday.
Wide receiver David Boston is headed to the Miami Dolphins in a trade from the San Diego Chargers in exchange for a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2005 draft and a player to be named later.
that's a pretty darn good trade from Miami's point of view. I think Miami's offense would be pretty darn impressive if they can also trade up for Rivers. A rivers, r. williams, d.boston, c.chambers, and r.mcmichaels. I haven't heard yet but does anyone who watches stuff in the entire league know who the new offensive cord. is for Miami?
Joel Collier is the new offensive coordinator in Miami. He was the running backs coach for the past six years. His dad was the defensive coordinator for the Broncos for many years. He left shortly after Super Bowl XXII...gee, I wonder why?
