HC that may get the can!?!?
We all know the fate that awaits Jim Zorn but I am wondering who will be this years surprise Head Coach to get the ax? I am not sure about others here but I was surprised to see Denver part ways with Shanahan last year.
My guesses are as follows: Jack Del Rio Eric Mangini Perry Fewell (goes without saying) Tom Cable And my surprise Head Coach to get the ax this year is.... Jeff Fisher I just think that things have gotten stagnant recently, sure Chris Johnson achieved 2,000 plus yards and the team turned around once Young took over, I am just wondering when Fisher gets burned out, he may not get the ax but rather retire, either way I think that he is out in Tennessee... What your thoughts??? |
Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
Del Rio is staying for one of the sadder reasons in that the Jaguars can't afford to hire anyone else. I personally hope Tom Cable never gets a coaching job again. Guy is clearly a pig and a worthless low life thug.

Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
Tom Coughlin
|
Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
Ditto on coughlin. Cowherd coaching the giants in 2010.
|
Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
I'd be shocked if Fisher gets fired. I don't think there will be a surprise firing this year. With 2011 so uncertain and owners not wanting to be paying 2 coaches with no game revenue coming in there's too much risk to shake things up for the sake of shaking them up.
Washington, Cleveland, Oakland and Buffalo are the only likely changes I see. |

Dude, don't joke about that. Thats scary. Cowher in the NFC East with a smart GM. |

Ya , let Cowher stay retired if he is not coming to DC . Browns winning last 4 makes it tough to fire coach .... if Fisher does get the AXE ... I would like to see him in ol DC . |
Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
I guess Jim Mora Jr. would count as a surprise...and I'm not sure that John Fox will stay in Carolina either
|
Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
From Mike Florio's lips....
9:11pm ET - Mike, can you please list all the coaches you think will be fired? Too hard to tell this year. Bills won't keep Perry Fewell. Zorn is definitely out. Mangini probably will be. Jeff Fisher could try to finagle his way out of Tennessee. Giants should fire Tom Coughlin. Jim Mora could be in trouble depending on who the G.M. is. They should clear out the front office in Detroit, but they won't.
|

Didn't the owner come out and say that Fox and the GM's jobs were safe for next year? |

Well what he said was he won't fire Fox but he also won't extend his contract so basically next year, as it stands right now, would be Fox's last year with Carolina. Fox has said he wants to talk it over with his family and he may decide to try to get out of his contract and not return to Carolina. |

And I think it would cost Carolina 6 mil to get rid of Fox, so he's probably staying. |

That's why they won't fire Fox...but it doesn't mean he's staying |

Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
How about McDaniels as a potential black Monday victim?
I doubt it would happen and Bowlen probably doesn't want to go through more offseason drama but he has to be asking himself today if booting Shanahan last year was really worth it. |

I had them for 4-5 wins. Later in the season, they played that way, but that shocking early-season success skewed their record. I think McDaniels has a bright future, but Kyle Orton and Chris Simms aren't the answer in Denver. |
Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
The Bills have fired Fewell and the rest of the staff. Cowher has reportedly told them he's not interested

Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
Raheem Morris will not be fired.
|
Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
Just reported that Mangini is staying as well
|
Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
Hopefully the Browns will take Heckert too. It would be nice to not have him in Philly.

Cleveland is keeping Mangenius. Anyone feel like this is their version of the Zorn era, though instead of 6-2 through the first 8 they end the season 4-0? Maybe they're hoping that two years of high draft picks will yield a nice setup for Gruden in 2011. Re: HC that may get the can!?!?
If the Eagles win this weekend does Wade Phillips lose his job?

Possibly but the only coach that Jones probably thinks is worth hiring right now is Jason Garrett. |

Can he be a possible DC in DC? |

Jones' brain is in violation of the Rooney Rule. |

Nope. Garrett is an OC. |

I was talking about Wade Phillips being a possible defensive coordinator in DC? Do you think that could happen? |

Oh, sorry, my bad. About Wade, I don't know. Every other major rumor about the Shanny transition has come true so I suppose Zimmer is locked in as our DC. You were quick to pick up a Shanny avatar and Summo was quick to make one. |

I think Gray and Haslett are there more for, "just in case", though Gray could be a real surprise. I hope Wade does become available. He's a heck of a DC and that would mean that the Cowgirls failed in the playoffs.......again. |

I want Zimmer, the way the Bengals D plays is fun to watch.
