Bailey's Remarks about the game
I watched NFL Live on ESPN this afternoon and they should what Bailey said about the game. He said that Chad Johnson is the quickiest guy in the NFL. He also said that Chad Johnson is going to be the best receiver in the league soon. If you ask me, Champ is trying to get away from the truth. He should of been a man and said he got OWNED.
Chad Johnson is a great receiver. No way he unseats Randy Moss anytime soon!
I will take T. O or Moss over Johnson anyday! T.O is the best right now in my book hands down. If he could only just shut the f--k up!
or TO, champ needs to take his lumps and move on... i mean, come on, he got beat bad by a good WR (good, but i wouldn't even put him in the top 5)...
While I loved seeing Champ get burned; on one touchdown he slipped and nearly fell down. And on another one it was obviously offensive pass interference, the guy shoved Champ out of the play then tipped and caught the ball falling down (a great play but still interference). I agree with the original poster though, Champ is only saying this guy is great so he doesn't look so bad. I still think we got the better end of the Portis/Bailey trade!!!
That "obvious pass interference" look at Chad Johnsons arm. It's simply resting there, you see no extention of the arm.
I believe you got the better end of the trade too. The thing I miss the most is that 2nd round pick. We could use that for a quality player.
he did have a really good pick to. in his defense.

Yeah, I didn't see much interference there either. |
i think that pick is a bad pass from palmer more than a good play by champ... he was in the right place to get it though.
I think Chad Johnson would light up the NFL if he had a better QB.
Chad Johnson has TO potential
johnson is an elite reciever, but he is not the best and will not be the best until moss and owens drop off.
good point though, look where he plays... if he had mcnbabb or culpepper...
We'll get to see Chad up-close and personal real soon. I hope we don't miss Champ too much then!
moss was good before he had culpepper playing like this. owens was good before he had mcnabb...still the best.

No way chad is the quickest reciever in the league, he may be one of the best, but he's not one of the quickest, Champ was burned and now he want's people to think he was out on an island with the quickest WR in the league, bottom line champ was outdone and outmuscled buy Johnson, and that's the Champ we all no, who can't cover a big reciever with any kind of speed ala Toomer, I said it before and I will say it again, Champ is good not great! |
Didn't Chump also say Taylor Jacobs was the Redskins best receiver? Looks like all Champ respects is speed.

You guys are fooling yourselves if you think Champ was going to stand there after the game and say 'I got owned'.
Champ is a quiet guy, but he's definitely very confident in his abilities, maybe to the point of being cocky but personally that's what I like to see from a top cornerback. He did give Johnson his props, I'm not sure what else we can expect from him. I'd like to see what people would say about Smoot if he got toasted. Will we rip into him the same way? Somehow I doubt it. We may have the chance to see this, after all we do have to face Owens twice and Moss. |

Nobody is touting Smoot as the best corner, but some here ARE touting him as being better than Champ.
I don't recall Smoot getting toasted bad this year, but like I said, we haven't seen Owens or Moss yet. Have we faced a team with a true elite WR yet? I can't name one. We haven't even faced a team that is a threat through the air. Green Bay will be the first good test. |

That said, I see your point and they will definitely be tested many times through the rest of the season. |

I guess probably Toomer? Toomer did burn Champ last year, but he didn't burn Smoot this year, he's still not an elite reciever though, I don't think G Bay has any elite reciever's, just Favre's ability to make play's which is a good test for a CB regardless. |
We play Cincy later this year, should be interesting to see how Chad Johnson fares.
Remember the week before when Chad Johnson was limited to 39 yds receiving by Cleveland's secondary. It was the Pepto Bismol game where he dropped like 6 balls. Bailey is a good CB, but he is extremely overrated. A good example would be the Madden 2005 video game. If you check Bailey's stats, he is stacked. He has 99 speed(the highest possible). I guess if speed kills Bailey then Dallas' Randal Williams could smoke him. He ran one of the fastest recorded 40 times. Bailey really isn't as fast as everyone thinks he is. A big physical receiver can give Bailey nightmares and also they occasional fake.
we'll play chad, TO, and moss... we'll see how we do, but champ doesn't really look like deion in his prime or D green in his prime... he may be the best in the league right now, but i don't really think he's that much better than #2, 3, 4 etc...
