Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Well it's here the grand finally to the 2009 season. Who ya taking to tote the Grandest Prize of all?
I hope it's at least a good game. If it's half as good as todays Washington Capitals VICTORY (14 WINS in a row, today the pens the latest victim) game that will be a treat. I really don't care who wins, just hope for a solid game. Not the Peyton Manning show. Discuss. |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Gotta say the SB always makes me feel like a kid, anyone else the same? Hope it's a great game!

Not any more, getting a few to many b-days for that feeling, I suppose. It does however, take me back to FOUR GREAT SB'S. All in which my REDSKINS where in play, and those three beautiful trophies we have to show for those years is great. Can't wait for that FOURTH! I don't know how or what feelings I will exhibit! |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
I am 23 years old and ever since I was 5 i have not missed a SB! I was 6 when we won in 91' and I'm so ready for another Redskins SB! I don't know what the hell I would do lol. But as far as this game goes, I grew up in the New Orleans area and I must say I am really pulling for DEM SAINTS!! I know what their "TRUE" fans have been waiting for their whole lives. I remember going to Saints games and seeing NO ONE there lol. They aren't the AINTS anymore. SAINTS 31 COLTS 29.. Brees MVP

Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
It's kind of bitter sweet i'm excited because it's the SB (wish my Skins were in it), can't wait for it to be over so we can start free agency, draft, training camp & 2010 season. Would like to see the Saints win.

Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
I have a real good question for folks in the DC area.. Why do so many people up there root for teams like Dallas and Pitts. I know a couple of people that live in MD and they hate the skins! WHY? Like I said in my other post, I grew up very close to New Orleans. I've always been a DIEHARD Skins fan but I don't Hate the Saints. So again why do people that live in SKINS country like RIVAL teams?

I think some of that comes from the fact that the Military/Govt. agencies bring in so many implants. That flip side could just be so many low IQ's and not knowing any better/bad parenting.....lol, really who knows. In general it is REDSKIN COUNTRY by LARGE! In football related news for the SB this evening: Updated: February 7, 2010, 4:35 PM ET Freeney ready to go vs. Saints ESPN.com news services Barring any last minute setbacks, Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney will start in the Super Bowl against the New Orleans Saints, sources tell ESPN's Sal Paolantonio. Freeney arrived at Sun Life Stadium at 1:50 p.m. Sunday and began receiving treatment on his torn right ankle ligament, according to Paolantonio. He watched the Colts' final Super Bowl practice from a golf cart on Saturday. The All-Pro defensive end hasn't practiced since tearing a ligament in his right ankle late in the AFC title game Jan. 24. Indianapolis coach Jim Caldwell said Freeney had improved from Friday to Saturday. Freeney has played through pain before this season. He didn't miss a game after straining a quadriceps in late September, an injury that reportedly should have kept him out for up to a month. Some have speculated Freeney may move from the right side to the left so he can push off his good ankle, but Freeney said Thursday a switch to the opposite side wouldn't make much difference. |

The simple answer would be because they're morons, but a big part of the reality is, it's a very transient area. It's the same way here in Tidewater. You have the Navy and a lot of people moving in and out of the area. |

Well said. The anticipation is like when we were kids waiting for Christmas morning. I think it will be another great game too...and another nice win for the NFC ;) |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
The Aint's finally get respect and win the SB!! The Caps game today was FANTASTIC as well as the Maryland Terps BB game. It's been a great day!!

Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
I just hope the yellow flags don't dictate the game as they have tended to do in recent years. The NFL has to be like the NHL and let the guys play. Unless the holding is rather blatant, don't call it. Holding is the one penalty where the refs could indeed call it just about every play.

Dude the DC area has a ton of "yankee" transplants. I know a bunch of ex Detroiters that live in the VA and MD burbs You don't know how many folks have left MI in the past few years. My entire family was in MI til last August when my brother and his family moved to a Dallas burb. IN a week my sister and her family leave for South Carolina as my bro in law got transferred to Charlotte. Anybody that can leave is leaving. A lot of my buds at work want to leave too ,but can't because of their families, and the job situation. I myself am looking to move to the DC area just for a new start. I am a Skin fan because I was born in Bethesda and lived my pre K years in Lanham and have family in the area. Great place, pretty nice folks. |

I was very glad to hear the Caps beat the birds. I am a Red Wings fan, but unless they play the Caps, I cheer for the Caps. I cheer for the Terps also. I hope their football program rebuilds quickly from a down year. |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts

I love Carrie Underwood.
|

And the game is on. Saints win to coin toss.... NFC again
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Come on Meachem. It's the super bowl. Lay out for that.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Freeney is not gonna last long, as it appears.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
If they leave a LB one on one on Dallas Clark he's going to have a huge day.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Man, Peyton has all day to throw...not good for the Saints.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Peyton is going to pick this defense apart.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Gregg's D....needs those "remember me" shots early. Or the Peyton show is gonna pick them apart!
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
I understand the Saints wanted to make a statement, but they shouldn't have gone down the field on that 3rd and short. Now they may be paying for it.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Big hold to keep them to a FG.
Stover = Automatic Colts draw blood first. |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Wow, a punt and a field goal already. I thought we wouldn't see any of them.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Colston better learn how to catch. Those are game changing plays!
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
The Colts are actually running well.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
If the Colts can RUN and throw on this saints team like this....the saints are in BIG TROUBLE!
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
The Colts are.... RUNNING the ball all over the Saints? The worst rushing attack in the league all year... how smart are they? You can bet the Saints didn't do a lot of gameplanning for their run game. So why not?
And then Peyton doing what he does. Wow. |
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Man, if the Saints don't do anything in this next drive, this game is over.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Game over Peyton is going to eat this defense alive
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Garcon < Mount Union Purple Raider > gets the first td in the SB !! And Danica ... did that hurt :)
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Precision is what you call it. Manning is just the best at what he does.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Who is this guy Forest Gump ?
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Umm, yeah. Doesn't look like Freeney is hurting too much. He just tossed Brees on a big 3rd down. Wow.
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Wait, why was Jay Leno just on a CBS commercial for the Late Show with Letterman???
|
Re: Super Bowl XLIV Gameday Thread: Saints vs. Colts
Who are the freakin idiots who came up with the stupid commercials ?
