2010 free agents still available
Here are a few Free Agents that are still out there. Who should we look at? Which UFA do you think should be on the list? I left out RFA's (we cant afford to lose draft picks) and also people I thought were scrubs.

re: 2010 free agents still available
I would pick Scott Fujita, just the name alone should get him signed here lol. not much talent left in f/a kinda sucks because there are a few spots I wish we could have filled but i guess they have a "plan".

re: 2010 free agents still available
Isn't Roethlisberger still on the broad?

AhhhOOoo! (Rimshot) Nice one. Much better than the one I was going to post....well done : ) |
re: 2010 free agents still available
We should try to sign Darren Sharper to play FS. The coaches say they want more turnovers and Sharper is a ball-hawk. Then we could trade Landry for a draft pick.
Neal re-signed with the Pats. Hopefully, we'll land Pashos to play RT and Foote to play ILB. Most of the players on your list are not good fits here IMO. |
re: 2010 free agents still available
I'm suprised that Aaron Kampman has not been picked up yet he has experience in the 3-4 scheme.
|
re: 2010 free agents still available
I think we need a list that digs a little deeper into the secondary market, that's looking like our target area.

Put a list together and post it Mattyk. I would let to see what you think. I think the Skins missed the boat on filling some needs like Antrel Rolle and Dunta Robinson. We also missed out on Chad Clifton also. I guess we are going young and will focus on the draft and undrafted free agents. |

Chad Clifton would have been helpful to us. But I am not sure that he is worth the $7m a year that he signed for. |
Re: 2010 free agents still available
I think Clifton just used us as a bargaining tool.

IMO.
I'd rather keep landry and develop him - I think his drawbacks are coachable, so I'd like to see what this coaching staff can get out of him. Plus Sharper's gettin up there, how many years do you really think we could get out of him? I don't think we missed the boat on anybody - Chad Clifton would have been overpaid, and we can get a tackle of equal or greater talent in the first or second round of the draft, one that'll also be younger. Dunta has a few question marks, and we really don't need him with Hall and Rogers. If rogers goes, we get a draft pick which I guess we could use on a corner. Pashos and Foote are the two guys on my wish list, but only for reasonable salaries. I think so far the Skins are doing a good job this offseason. |

Yeah but he was pretty much a disaster in it and I think he wants to go back to a 4-3 |
Yeah but he was pretty much a disaster in it and I think he wants to go back to a 4-3
Yeah I think that's the consensus on that one. Also Clifton yes would've been overpaid at 7 a year, but you can argue that Rabach will be at 4 as well. |
Re: 2010 free agents still available
Sorry guys, I'm putting in a few minutes to finish up my free agency spreadsheet tonight, and I'll email it to Matty so he can put it up by Monday. Wanted to get it out before Wednesday night, but considering that there's two term papers due last week that I still haven't done yet, it's safe to say I've been pretty booked.
I have to just add all the cuts to the list, and place who signed where. |
Re: 2010 free agents still available
thanks for the effort Tripp

Are we interested in Ryan Clark, Liegh Bodden, Lito Shepherd? Any of those guys on our radar? I could see them being more beneficial for us as far as price and fit into the scheme. |

I've heard that Ryan Clark wants to get paid, although is he a FS or SS? Any chance we could pay a lot of money to Sharper but just for a year? |

Clark is a free safety, he'll def be looking to get paid, especially with Rolle signing that big time contract. |
Isn't Roethlisberger still on the broad?
Well theres a part of him thats a free agent, but that can be attributed more to a lack of control. |
Re: 2010 free agents still available
Yeah id be interested in looking at Lito Sheppard and Gibril Wilson. They would both like to get at division rivals
|
Re: 2010 free agents still available
Justin Fargas was cut.

So why haven't we gone after Jammal Williams, Mike Bell, Ryan Clark, Mike Gandy?

If Ryan Clark wants 26 Million or whatever it is....pass. I would rather have Kemo over Williams. Shanny will turn someone else into Mike Bell or even better into a Mike Anderson! |

I hope the Skins will take a look at Mark Tauscher to play RT for one season.

Great chart!!! Thanks!

Re: 2010 free agents still available
Take Kampman off this list. The Jags just signed him.

And Hicks.
Nice reference GTripp. Really appreciate it. |
Re: 2010 free agents still available
yes, very nice.
How about this. We do not sign any players over the age of 30 this offseason. |
Re: 2010 free agents still available
yes, very nice.
How about this. We do not sign any players over the age of 30 this offseason.
Ok, but I think a better one would be: We do not overpay any players over the age of 30 this off-season. After all you can get someone like Foote or a few others, who know the coach specifically, and can be a mentor, and also a good addition for a year or two while we focus on rebuilding the offense this season. |

How about this. We do not sign any players over the age of 30 this offseason.
Too late for that already. CRedskins, as usual, is on the spot: better to sign 30+ folks as long as you don't overpay them. |
Re: 2010 free agents still available
I'm not saying this will solve our problems but there are some players with decent size and not old either.
Yeah we definitely need to look under every stone.
I know the complaint about how if they were any good they wouldn't be in Canada but some players need experience or a few years to develope skills and size. but in a nutshell yes lets not leave any stone unturned. If there somewhat young and healthy bring them in for an evaluation. I actually would prefer a bunch of just out of college upstarts who will build a bond together in the trenches vs. 2 players and a bunch of 30 y/o's. I'd even settle for the preverbial penalty now and then that Rookies usually provide. |

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the chart GTripp. Much appreciated! |
