Brandon or T.O. ?
This is just speculation at this point but very interesting. Obvisouly Brandon Marshall is the better option but he comes with a huge price tag. We will instantly have a true #1 receiver.........and then there is TO. I dunno. I think we would give up way to much for Marshall.

Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
IF we must, Marshal w/out a doubt!
|
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
Marshall would vastly improve the receiver corps and would be a good addition. He's tendered at one and I doubt we'd trade our number one for him. Depending on how bad they want him, something could be worked out.
I would say no to TO under any circumstance. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
I dont want either, but if we had to have one of them, i'd actually prefer T.O. to my knowledge, he was pretty much a model citizen and buffalo and the general lack of interest in him around the league should be humbling. the chance to play the cowboys and eagles 4 times a year should be extra motivation for him. obviously, marshall is younger and has more long-term potential, but he's also just as much of a knucklehead as T.O. The advantage with T.O. is that he'd be cheaper and wouldnt cost us any draft picks.

Id rather have TO. He's a free agent and wouldn't cost us our most precious renewing resource that is our draft picks. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
I dont think that WR is enough of a need for the FO to make a move for either guy. This whole speculation would seem completely bogus in my mind.
I say take neither and suffer the consequences for not playing along. |

I could see it being a concern, but to what extent they choose to act on it is a completely different story......TO is looking to improve on 6 mil. and I doubt that's going to happen here. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
Do not sign either of them. We are trying to build a team for the long term. T.O. is too old, but that is actually the least of his problems. We would have to give up too much to get Marshall and he has character problems too.
We need to build from the inside out. If we trade for Marshall, we will have no o-line, which is much more important. Plus, we need to give Thomas and Kelly a shot. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
Neither.
|
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
I would love to see us ship a player out, or some combination of a player and low round draft pick for Marshall.
A TE maybe? Landry? Anything like that would work. |

Look, I don't care who we have playing WR. Once they get to that level (NFL) all of them can peform to a satisfactory level, all they have to do is catch the ball when they are thrown to. The guys we have will look like studs as soon as Campbell or whoever the QB is, is not throwing off of his right ass cheek anymore. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
I cannot fathom the continuing talk about Brandon Marshall and the Redskins. Shanny wanted to ditch him in Denver. Therefore Shanny is not bringing him to Washington. End of story, it seems to me.
As for TO, I don't want him taking playing time from Thomas and Kelly. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
Marshall by far and away.....but Ill take neither at this point if it means giving away draft picks....We need to add a WR with ARE gone. At this point wait for more cuts, I really dont waste another pick on one...we have the youth, lets add a dependable vet for cheap.
|
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
I would take Marshall only if we gave Denver our 2011 1st round pick not this years first rder. The guy is easilly a top 3 WR behind fitz and a.Johnson . He gets 100 rec every year.

Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
As crazy as it sounds, TO would be cheap and amped to beat the Cowgirls and Eagles
And eventually he would be amped to beat the Redskins a year or two later when he signs with the Giants. Though if it's going to happen T.O. is the more likely choice considering the fact that Marshall is going to net the Bronco's a 1st or early 2nd round pick. God, CP, T.O., and Haynesworth on the same team. Talk about wine and cheese. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
Id rather have TO.

Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
If it were one or the other, definitely go with Marshall.
T.O. is well into his thirties. maybe get one or 2 years out of him. Marshall is a guy that can be a part of the franchise for much longer. A much wiser investment. And T.O. is ALWAYS a model citizen in the first year with a team. Its year 2 and 3 where he becomes a haedache. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
I like TO. He's a bit odd, but he's basically a pretty good guy...but I'd rather have Brandon Marshall on the field.
But we won't be trading a high pick for him |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
Like either is going to be coming here...and Shanahan probably believes he could get the WRs we have now to acquire the necessary human capital (gee, a new concept that only economists seem to regard as common knowledge) to be solid producers or better.
Sources: Former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan planned to jettison Brandon Marshall - ESPN |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
We haven't really brought anyone in who wants a guaranteed starting job. So I doubt either will be given much of a look. This year just seems to me like a chance for Shanahan to find and develop his core group. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
|
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
No thanks to TO. Chances are high there won't be football in 2011, and the guy is old as it is. We need to build a young core because we're years away from competing for a title.
I'd love to sign Marshall as a free agent but he's not free. I'd rather make the pick and try to hit it big on the next great WR or offensive lineman to come out of the middle rounds of the draft. |
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
Is this suppose to be a serious question? Brandon of course!

"I'll take Jason Campbell, I'd would love to see us ship a player out and a low round draft pick for Campbell." and right about now you guys are saying...."Hell no! Jason is worth more then that. We want a 1st round draft pick." Then their is the more reality based fans who would be saying "We'll take a second or a third round draft pick." My point. Denver wants a 1st round draft pick for one of the elite WR's in the league. Not a 1st for a mediocre QB or middle of the road WR. |

The only bad issue with him is what it would take to get him. Clearly a dallas fan would love to see the Skins give up their 1st round pick for a WR. I'd rather us pick up T.O. cause he would be cheaper. Keep in mind I would only pick him up for a 2 year deal. Thats about as long as he can contain himself. Plus hopefully by then we would know what we have in our WR's and whether we needed to pick up someone else in the draft. Plus picking up T.O. would enable us to look elsewhere prior to being forced to draft a WR. |

Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
I would take TO over Marshall. TO is a good guy with a huge ego, Marshall is just a punk with a bad attitude. TO would be cheaper and he stomped on that Dallas star when he was with the niners. I have a feeling he will be a Redskin in 2010.

If a third string QB like Charlie Whitehurs is worth swap of second round picks (a 20 spot move up for the Chargers) and next year's third rounder I can't imagine why we couldn't get at least a 3rd rounder. The Skins' must want more than a 3rd rounder. |

Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
Hey, it's uncapped year. Why not both?
|
Re: Brandon or T.O. ?
I personally think this would be a fair trade for Brandon Marshall:
* We trade 1st round picks with Denver * We trade 2nd round picks with Denver * We give them our 4th round pick DEN gets the 4th, 37th and 103rd WAS gets the 11th, 45th and Brandon Me-First Marshall According to the Trade Value Matrix, DEN would get a value of 2,418 and WAS would get 1,700 + Marshall. The 718 difference equates to the 25th pick in the first round of the draft - so in short, DEN would be getting the equivalent of a 1st rounder, and we'd be maintaining our first two picks in a very deep draft AND picking up a legit WR1. Your thoughts?? Is this too logical for NFL GM's? Option #2 - bring back THE ADE!! :) |

"Prices" for QBs always tend to be on the extreme side. They cost a lot if they're even "just good", and they're dirt cheap if no one wants them. Apparently, no one wants to "buy" Campbell for a 2nd or 1st rounder, and for damn good reason. Campbell's not a sure thing. It's basically gambling with Campbell vs. gambling with grabbing a stud 1st or 2nd round player from the draft, and most would rather gamble with the draft than with a QB who has not shown much in all of his years in the league and has two attributes that leads to near-certain QB failure: bad accuracy and bad pocket presence. |

I would definately say Brandon Marshall. One, TO is way past his prime and a headache. Also, I went to UCF so I like Brandon Marshall.
T.O. sucks. |

Well they're no longer asking for more than a 3rd rounder (they haven't lately at least). I think others have mentioned it but it seems like Whitehurst has more "value" because of what he has the potential to accomplish. I think most execs feel like they've seen enough of Campbell to know what to expect from him. Redskins and Broncos, to my knowledge, had very preliminary talks at the beginning of free agency about Marshall but nothing came out of that. Right now, no team is budging on giving up a 1st for Marshall. Redskins will wait and see if it gets to the point that the Broncos feel forced to get rid of Marshall, and the talk was that some package could involve Landry and Kelly. Who knows for sure though |
