DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
This is a guy that we need on our team! I know alot of you don't like him but he's a playmaker on the ball and led our team in INT's. IMO He's a top 10 CB in the league.

Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Thats good to hear, its nice to be confident like that can you just imagine the turn around they are witnessing.
|
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Yea what a difference a yr makes.. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about the season. Every yr we are anxious but Honestly this yr is different. Adding Shanny and McNabb is a dream come true for Skins fans.
|
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Hall said. "The scheme alone is gonna give us four or five more wins".
Jim Zorn is going to be....real disappointed if that proves to be true |
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Blache will also be dissapointed. I just think we have to have a WR step up and shine this yr in order to really compete for the Division
|
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Nice to hear some confidence, but then again what else do you expect him to say? We are going to suck? We very well may win the division, but the team is basically the same with the exception of Donovan and Williams, with Carriker along for the ride. We will see how much the line is going to be revamped. Remember Donovan had the best trio of Wrs in the division, if not the entire league last year. He doesn't have those big guns anymore. That being said Kyle's offense is way more open than Zorn's and more akin to Norv's. If Norv had a franchise QB and better safeties, he could have kicked some ass.

We need Kelly to become a Maclin and Thomas to become a Jackson!!!!! |

Honestly, I think the team will work harder and thus play better just because of the coaching/FO advances that have been made. They'll give a better effort with renewed confidence in the current regime they did not have last year. AND the new additions will add to that.....positive mix as well. HTTR |

Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
I think we will do better Hog, the main questions are will the new line get the new scheme and will the new scheme really help our young receivers break out of the box they seemed to be in under Zorn. This is the year we find out if Thomas and Kelly are worth a damn.
|
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
If we would of landed Brandon Marshall we'd be in the Superbowl IMO. We're only one WR away from being an elite team. If Devin Thomas had Malcom Kelly's hands we'd be damn near unstoppable, providing the o-line did it's job.

Can't wait!! |
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Me either. IF the line is decent they should do well. It should be fun to watch!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Well maybe we sign TO maybe not, maybe Mitchell actually plays this season. Honestly mcnabb has always been solid with out star wr's. I'm not too worried especially considering we have a great pair of TE's!!

Let's just hope D-Hall takes advantage of this new defense, and gets some INTs/turnovers

This. For me hearing Shanahan talk about goals, saying it's a difficult path and takes a little luck, is a lot better than a hot air piece by a guy who whiffs on a qb that would seal a game. I like D Hall's ball skills, but leave the dominate the division talk alone until you prove it on a field. (we went 0-6 in division last year, dominating is nice but let's strive for competitive first!) |
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Asking a player how his team will do is like asking a bicycle if it's rider will win the Tour De France.
|
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
sorry but we're not going to dominate the division. we didn't win one game in the division and the only team that we might be better than is Philly. what a stupid comment. hall is an idiot, always has been and always will be. but he is our best playmaker in the secondary so hopefully he'll benefit from the new scheme. and hopefully haslett will teach hall how to tackle.
|
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
I like his confidence and it's nice to hear that guys have confidence in our new coaches/systems.
|
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
To be fair, the season prior, we beat the Eagles twice and Dallas once. IF we can split the Giants, we ought to go atleast 3-3, possibly 4-2. We could easily beat Philly twice, if Zorn could do it Shanny and McNabb ought to have no problem, and Shanny already said he wants to beat Dallas badly, (probably just to jab JJ about not giving him leverage with DS LOL), so we need to whoop the Giants and then...
DOMINATION! |

No we have a new front office and a verteran coaching staff. Donovan had good WR's last year nut look what he has done in the past with alot less in WR's then we have here. |

Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
There is a wiiiiiiiddddeeee gap between "we will dominate" and "we will suck". Perhep DeAngelo could have been a lttle more DeLiberate in his comments and a little less DeLusional.
(Really don't care what the man says, just wanted to do the whole "De____" thing. What can I say, I amuse easily.) |
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Confidence and Optimism are great but nothing replaces Hard Work and Chemistry...a little Luck here and there would help too.
I guess I'm still in a 'wait and see' mode when it comes to our team. There are too many new faces, schemes, and unknowns surrounding the team to make predictions like 11 or 12 wins. Someone here even said we are 1 WR away from the Superbowl. Really? That, to me, is a preposterous statement to make. We don't even know who our starting 5 guys on the O-line are going to be. Based on drafting one rookie who hasn't played an NFL down (and an average tweener veteran), we've all of a sudden cured our O-line woes...Does anyone remember how bad that unit was last year? Between that, scheme changes on both sides of the ball, and aging RB's, I don't see how people can be so gung-ho about our chances this year. At least wait until preseason, folks. I feel like we (fans and the media) build the team up to unrealistic expectations every year. Then, when the team "underperforms" we act like the sky is falling and call for sweeping changes in the next offseason, when we should have just stayed the course (see: Marty). I wish that people like DeAngelo could just lock it up until at least one or two games into the regular season. They are fueling the fire of the boom and bust cycle of Redskins nation's morale. |

Well since Hall is my favorite Skin I must interject here. Halls comment to me was refreshing. It shows that there is finally something there that is exciting the players. "We are going to dominate the division" is not something you say in the NFC East especially if your a Redskin of the last decade (or more) unless there is a renewed spirit and level of dedication starting with the organization and reaching the team as a whole. As far as Hall always being a idiot. I don't see that at all. And his positive comment does not reflect that of an idiot. I can see if he said the Skins will try but in the end we will be the same old broken team. But he's excited about the new scheme as he should be. As far as his tackling, well he does need improvement here but so does the team as a whole. As long as Hall disrupts the backfield and comes up with INT's as he does and will. I'll be happy with that. I would hope that he is not in the position to have to tackle a break away RB as often as he has been. He has the right attitude and is a playmaker. I'm glad he's a Redskin and hope his enthusiasm is contagious. |

or, if you must post, please do it on ES (ba-zinga!).
There is plenty available at this time of year. I like the red the best. When I drink it, I see perfectly a 19-0 season, where our offense puts up 475 pts while our defense allows only 200, we have a+37 TO ratio, and our division foes forfeited their 2nd games rather than face the humiliating pain they knew was inevitable. When I drink the blue I only see a +35 TO ratio and that kinda depresses me. |
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
So you'd rather he say that we suck or something?
I'd rather he say "We are much improved and I'm confident we will have a better product on the field this year than we did last year. Players are really taking to the scheme and are excited by the invigorated spirit that the new coaching staff has brought to Redskins Park. I'm very optimistic about this upcoming season b/c I know what the talent in our locker room is capable of. If we play like we should, I think the sky is the limit for this team." You can be optimistic and confident without sounding like a cocky, antagonistic, uber-douche |
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
D. Hall wants to be a star in some capacity. I wish he did the little things on the field as much as he does interviews on espn & comcast. I still think the guy could be an elite corner, but I don't get the impression he works on all the details of the game.
Realistically, the only team we might be better than right now is the g-men. They fell apart last year & kind of lost their identity. Whereas we fell apart & reverted to a familiar losing identity. The changes in the org. are good for a few wins but I think it's a bit overly optimistic to say we'll "dominate" the div. and in fairness to Allen & Shanny, they need more than a year to right the ship. Sadly, the cowpokes are hands down the div. favorite at this point. |
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
Here's his entire quote:
"It's based on the talent we feel like we've got," he said. "It's based on the improvements I feel like we've made. It's based on the scheme. The scheme alone is gonna give us four or five more wins. The games we lost by two, three points, we'll win those games, easy. "We'll dominate our division, off of bringing Donovan McNabb in here, a guy who's dominated the division in the past. So that's just an educated guess. That's an educated guess, and I stand behind. I'll stand behind that. I'll fight and claw to try to make that happen." |
Re: DeAngelo Hall: "We'll dominate our division"
I will admit that it is hard for me to be a McNabb fan after rooting against him for so many years. But he is not an average QB like Jason Campbell is and always will be. McNabb will make our young WRs better and we will score more points, which will make it easier on our Defense, which to me, would make them more aggressive and have more turnovers.
Let's face it everyone, the reason the Skins have not been winning more games in the past, is because they have averaged less than 20 points per game in the last several years. They have to score more, and McNabb will help them do that. We finnally have a legit QB. |

Can't really see where you get that. Dead weight players and coaches were released and Vinny C. was jettisoned. That alone should account for 2 wins. Plus, who was the unquestioned LEADER of this team over the past few seasons? The "face" of the franchise? Yeah, I give up too. McNabb brings in much needed veteran leadership and the team is already responding. Don't know how it will translate onto the field but it certainly is a welcome change. |

He was Mr. Goody Goody when he got here, he got paid and then started bitching when the losses piled up. To me Hall is a front runner, when things are going good he's all smiles but when things are down he's pointing fingers when he's a huge part of the problem. Just do it on the field, I don't need any stupid ass quotes in April. |
