zackmills

Our good friend zack has gone bye-bye for a while.

Sorry to his legion of fans, but I just don't think he added anything positive to the forum and frankly I was getting tired of seeing so much time and energy being put in to responding to him. He was taking over every thread he posted in.

RIP zackmills

Gmanc711 11-09-2004 11:25 PM

I'll throw down a extra cold one this weekend knowing I dont have to see " Gibbie " posted here ever again.

SmootSmack 11-09-2004 11:31 PM

We come to bury Zackmills, not to praise him...

EEich 11-09-2004 11:49 PM

ding dong, the witch is dead.

NY_Skinsfan 11-09-2004 11:49 PM

Thanks, Matty.

Drift Reality 11-09-2004 11:50 PM

Hahaha that's awesome.

F him.

Drift Reality 11-09-2004 11:51 PM

That being said, I'd rather have him starting at QB than Brunell.

EEich 11-09-2004 11:51 PM

but would the OL block for him or let him take the hit?

Skins fan 44 11-10-2004 12:04 AM

Too Bad.

Thanks Matty!

Paintrain 11-10-2004 12:17 AM

Ah well.. Good call Matty, may he rest in pieces..

RedskinRat 11-10-2004 12:26 AM

This forum without ZackMills is like a village without an idiot.....

SmootSmack 11-10-2004 12:28 AM

Where were you when you found out Zackie was booted? LOL

CrazyCanuck 11-10-2004 12:53 AM

Thanks Matty.

I never bothered responding to the guy cuz I find it hard to believe that he's actually a Skins fan, saying the things he did. I figure it's just denim_monger in disguise. ;)

And if he is a Skins fan, I mean how do you respond to a guy that would rather have Spurrier over Gibbs, or better yet, Denny friggin' Green!

As Seinfeld would say "There's no comeback for that!"

djnemo65 11-10-2004 01:10 AM

do you guys know if that was the real mills, the psu qb.

That Guy 11-10-2004 01:35 AM

i just generally ignored him, but man... some of you guys need to learn how to ignore obvious idiotic troll hacks :(

SmootSmack 11-10-2004 01:58 AM
do you guys know if that was the real mills, the psu qb.
I don't think so, I think he's actually a couple of years older than the qb

Big C 11-10-2004 02:54 AM

what did zack mills do? i havent had a whole lot of time to check up on the site lately
:(

:(
He got on a lot of peoples nerves...very disrespectful to Gibbs. His posts were mostly loaded with insults and no substance. Basically it seemed he was here just to piss people off and it worked. Some of us had more patience for him than others ( I was not one of the patient ones). The board started to become all about him for awhile so it was time for him to get booted. Reading most of his posts I ended up doing this :banghead:.

frogprincess 11-10-2004 07:00 AM

Thank you, Matty.

Redskins_P 11-10-2004 08:31 AM

Thanks Matty. Good work.

cpayne5 11-10-2004 09:32 AM

Should we retire the smoking emoticon in his honor as well?

:Smoker:

PSUskinsfan11 11-10-2004 10:25 AM

Now If Joe Paterno would only follow Matty's lead and start the freshman 5 star recruit behind him to get some experience for next year!!!! sorry being a PSU fan is reallllll frustratingright now.

Redskins_P 11-10-2004 10:49 AM
sorry being a PSU fan is reallllll frustratingright now.
PSUskinsfan, don't be sorry.....being a skins fan is real fustrating right now too. I can't imagine how fustrated you are being a fan of both. ;)

CRT3 11-10-2004 11:08 AM

Thanks. I was just trying to see if I could encourage some positive thoughts on the Skins but he seemed to want to continue the insults. Oh well, can't say you gave him a chance. Thanks for keeping the site in line, including me.

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about ZackMills.

Most of his posts were not constructive criticisms and so I understand the decision to ban him. People like denim monger degrade the quality of the site by sounding like children.

However, I am afraid that banning someone who speaks out against Gibbs or certain decisions the Redskins' front office has made sets a dangerous precedent. Discouraging honest disagreements as to what Gibbs, or anybody else in the Redskins organization, is doing may also degrade the quality of the site by making it a forum for monologues, not dialogues.

I for one am nervous about my own views (which often cut against the grain). Do I have to be careful when evaluating a player or a player personnel decision?

Overall, I understand the decision but with the caveat that I hope that posters are RARELY banned.

diehardskin2982 11-10-2004 12:12 PM

I agree with u ramsey fan if u didn't like what he said jus ignore him, this is a forum for opinions not a club where everyone thinks the same. becuase personally I don't agree with Gibbs' approach right now as far as his decisions in the qb position and overplay calling being lackluster. I think he needs a quick young mind to go along with all the old foogies in the offensive coaching aspect of the redskins franchise.

Riggo44 11-10-2004 12:32 PM

Thanks Matty! :thumb: Bye bye Zackie boy! :tongue

I'm 110% for people having different opinions, as unpopular as they may be. However, I'm not for people taking over the forum and that's what was happening with zackmills.

Anytime he posted it started trouble. I can't figure out if he was just trying to get a rise out of people or if he really was just a jerk. It's probably a combo of the two. If his posts had a little more 'meat' to them and weren't so negative and disrespectful he would still be here. And I'm not talking about being disrespectful to Gibbs, when I say he was disrespectful I mean to the forum, and that's why he's gone. It had nothing to do with his opinions.

Only a handful of people have been banned, and up until now they were only spammers. So I really wouldn't worry about this being a regular thing. Going back to the Yahoo days of this site, I can probably count on one hand how many people have been banned.

Anybody that's been on the site for a while can tell you I don't run the site with an iron fist where anyone who has a differing opinion is in danger of being booted. That's not what I'm about and it's not what the site is about. However, once in a while a cancer comes along that must be removed for the good of the group.

joecrisp 11-10-2004 02:26 PM

I totally agree with the decision to ban him. Like Matty says, the decision was not based on his lack of respect for Gibbs, it was based on the fact that he refused to show any respect towards anyone else on the forum or the opinions that they presented to him.

Personally, I had put him on my 'ignore list' a week or two ago, but I was really frustrated by the fact that I continued to have to read his blather anyway because so many folks were quoting his posts in their replies to him.

In the future, let's try to avoid letting guys like this get under our skin and take over the forum by simply ignoring them. Follow the best credo regarding trolls like ZackMills, and that is "if you ignore them they will go away."

SmootSmack 11-10-2004 03:33 PM

Let me cite my homeboy Daseal once again.

Daseal might come with a post that says "Spurrier was put in a bad position here because his assistant coaches were poor. He tried to get Kim Helton fired but wasn't allowed to. Had he been surrounded by better people he'd still be the head coach here and he wouldn't be settling for less than 20 points a game"

Zack, on the other hand says "Gibbie is too old, get that assclown out of here"

Now, while I don't entirely agreee with Daseal's statement, at least he backs it up with some substance. That's a difference of opinion anyone can respect

And as we all well know it takes a village to raise an idiot...er... something like that:cheeky-sm

VTSkins897 11-10-2004 05:04 PM

i'll admit that he went a little too far at times... but it sorta seems like he got booted just 'cos he said some stuff you guys didn't wanna hear... heck of a lotta whining from everyone... but it did seem like he was just frustrated what with liking two crappy teams... at any rate i didn't see a lot of what he said so i'm sure it was warranted... it had to bother yas since id argue this ain't a skins post.

LongTimeSkinsFan 11-10-2004 05:11 PM

Almost forgot... TY Matty. I'll add my 2c here as well. While I think Matty's decision to ban Zack was justifiable I think we all could practice ignoring people whose sole purpose on the boards is to create discord, anarchy, and chaos with contributing to discussions. Like some others, after I saw a day or two worth of posting from Zack, it was easy to determine that he wasn't posting to offer a valuable opinion, but rather just trying to stir a little controversy with him being at the center, so I put him on the ignore list after dropping a flame or two his way. I discovered this board about a week or so ago and so thankful that I've found it! I've been a skins fan since 1973 and really enjoy the discussion threads and everyone's opinions, even if I don't agree with them!

MTK 11-10-2004 05:58 PM
i'll admit that he went a little too far at times... but it sorta seems like he got booted just 'cos he said some stuff you guys didn't wanna hear...
If that was the case I could boot a lot of people.

I've already outlined my reasons, none of them have anything to do with his opinion.

If you don't believe me no problem.

Just watch your back!

;)

Daseal 11-10-2004 06:05 PM

Honestly, I speak from first hand experience that you won't get booted just because you argue against the majority. Most people are willing to listen because seeing an argument from another side makes you a complete person and strengthens your argument. Zackmills added absolutely NOTHING to this board. He never once wrote a post where I thought... Wow, he really thought that one out. I never knew that! or How insightfull.

He contributed nothing to the board, and I applaud Matty. I love this board, and I don't want it to turn into some of the other boards you'll see with useless blather on every page.

celts32 11-10-2004 09:19 PM

Nice...

VTSkins897 11-10-2004 11:39 PM

partially true... i mean i hadn't read much of what he posted, but from what i saw he was somewhat unfounded but by no means offense ("matty is a douche" for example) to anyone on the board. i'm not certain of that, nor will i go back and read, but everything i read was just his opinion. now it seemed to me that he was simply just frustrated from being a fan of two crappy teams. i found him moderately entertaining and i don't think you should ban someone just 'cos you don't agree with them unfounded as it is... gotta learn to ignore like someone said. thankfully the 'skins are not a 100% likeness to some of the people on this board (whining @&$$!3$)... else we'd really be screwed... but like i said b4 i'm sure if he deserved it and that was the general consensus... you guys know what you're doin.....

NY_Skinsfan 11-11-2004 12:40 AM
...and i don't think you should ban someone just 'cos you don't agree with them unfounded as it is...
Dude, that's not why he was banned...

Here's Matty's reasons why....

"If his posts had a little more 'meat' to them and weren't so negative and disrespectful he would still be here. And I'm not talking about being disrespectful to Gibbs, when I say he was disrespectful I mean to the forum, and that's why he's gone. It had nothing to do with his opinions."

"I'm 110% for people having different opinions, as unpopular as they may be."

Oh and by the way, Matty, the part about being disrespectful to Gibbs...I was refering to ZackMills calling him Gibbie all the time...I didn't mean he should be banned solely for being direspectful to Gibbs I was just stating that he was.

Anyway, 40 posts into this thread...It's like he's still here
