Skins vs. Bengals Predictions
Skins in another close one 20-10, they finally top the 18 point mark but not by much. Brunell turns in another gutsy performance and lights up the Bengals secondary for more than 100 yards.
The Bengals have one of the worst run D's in the league so it should be another big day for Portis. I say 30 carries for a buck fifty and a TD. Our D shuts down Rudi Johnson and gets 2 picks off Palmer. |
A big day for Portis = W
225, 2 TDs (90% of our offense). Skins win 14-3. |
Skins win 28 - 9.
I think Brunell is going to blow up in this game. He'll pass for more than 200 yds and Portis will rush for over 200 and put him at 1000 yds. Coles and Gardner will each have a TD catch. Defense will be awesome once again. Taylor will have a big game. |
As I posted on another board, Redskins win 16-10, Prits a big game, defense scores a TD, Brunell throws for less than 25 yds, Gibbs petitions for his jersey to be retired for being the most courageous QB in Redskins history.
|
Bengals take a 7-3 first half lead. Redskins rally back to score 18 points in the second half and win the game 21-7
Portis runs for a buck forty and 1 TD. Griffin forces a fumble that Washington scoops up and runs in for the game clinching TD. But the play of the game will be 3rd and 9 inside the red zone, Brunell looks around, checks off his receivers, is about to throw it away-then suddenly he decides to tuck it in and run. He dives headfirst into the endzone to give the Skins their first lead of the game. He then proceeds to celebrate by mocking Hines Ward's mocking of TO's mocking of Ray Lewis' intro dance. |

I think Brunell would look better doing the Deion dance..... |
I think Brunell has his best game. The offensive line will allow him time to throw down field successfully. The special teams has an agenda to give the offense great field position to start it's drive. This will be the key to our win. The shorter the drive, the better chance of scoring three TD's for the first time this year. What I have noticed about Brunell is he needs to score early and often in the first half of the game so that Portis and the defense will be able to run the time out successfully. If we can go up by 2 TD's and a field goal by half time which is pushing the envelope, it will give us the momenum going into the second half. Redskins 24, Bengals 13 Hail to the Redskins!!!
All day and all night. |
i think the passing game will breakout in this game skins win 28-17
portis will have another great game 150 and 2 tds |
i think the passing game will break out skins win 28-17
portis runs for 150 and 2 tds |
Big day from Portis, but it won't be enough. Skins lose this one 14-10. Too much inconsistency with the skins right now. Would love to see this team win two straight, but current history suggests this just wont happen.
God, I hope I am wrong, but I just have this feeling. |
brunell will go 27-40 for 457 and 5 tds
portis will go 20 carries for 213 and 2 tds It could happen |
brunell will go 27-40 for 457 and 5 tds

redskins win 12-9 in a battle of kickers......

God, I hope I am wrong, but I just have this feeling.
Have you no confidence in the 1# defense? Don't look at the non-existent passing game and think that will be the deciding factor. Have you looked at the Bengals defense against the run? You should. It's not that great. The passing game will the main feature in the first half. Gibb's wants to see this team throw a couple of TD's. Doesn't matter who throws them. Could Portis, or Gardner. Special teams will have an even better game. If anything the Bengals are too inconsistent to win. |
I think the skins will lose 17-21 because it seems the refs love to hoe us at home.
If we a have a decent ref crew which i doubt in washington we win 9-3. At home the defense has been facing 2 oponents (the refs with weak calls, and our incosistant offense) while the offense has to fight 2 ( themselves and refs). We have the talent on O to be a offensive juggernaut, when they realize that and stop making stupid mental mistakes we'll win. but lewis will put everything in the box and try to force us to throw, which means problems. |

He's not going to be able to throw down field on our secondary. I see Brunell coming out and throwing in the pocket to Portis on the dump-off pass. Gibbs will add one or two deep passes in the first half. After that, Portis will wear out the Bengals defense. I have a strong feeling this defense finally gets the recognition from the media that it deserves after this game. Only one RB has run for 100yds. against our defense and Rudi Johnson won't be the second. |
The Bengals stack the line and stuff Portis early, causing the Redskins to go the air.
Brunell responds by going 2-15 in the first half, with 1 int and 1 fumble, both returned for TDs. We are losing 14-0 at the half. In the locker room at half time, Gibbs turns towards Don Breaux and says, "Boy, this guy (Brunell) sucks ass. I wish we had someone else we could put in there," to which Breaux responds, "Well, we have two back-up quarterbacks - Ramsey and Hasselbeck." Gibbs looks at Breaux in shock and responds, "Holy shit, I thought those two guys were our kicker and punter." Ramsey goes in the second half, throws three touchdowns, and we win 21-14. |
im not afraid of carson palmer or rudi johnson. the only person on their offense id be worried about is chad johnson, but i think our corners and sean taylor will not let many passes get to him, and i think the blitz will really mess with carson palmer. i see us winning this game 20-6, i dont think the bengals will get any touchdowns. :)
|
I think the Skins' will win. I think our defense will be awsome again, and Portis should be enough to keep us moving and lead us to the win.
Brunell....hem..... if he sucks again... nevermind. Redskins 14-3 |

The following week, Ramsey starts, it's a play action pass Ramsey takes the sack. 2 down. Philly blitzes and another sack. 3 down Oh look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's an INT. Gibbs's looks over at Breaux and says, This f#$2kin kid is gonna make my blood sugar go through the roof." Pull him, he's still not ready. . Future QB my a@#!" Hasselbeck goes in the second half, throws three touchdowns, and we win 21-14 |
Unfortunately, any sort of playoff talk ends this week. This prediction only changes with Ramsey starting, but as long as its Brunell:
Bengals 24 Skins 13 |
Redskins 28 - Bengals 9
|

Hasselbeck goes in the second half, throws three touchdowns, and we win 21-14
once again, to put your mindless ramsey bashing in perspective, hassleback has a consistantly lower QB rating, lower YPA, higher turnover ratio... HE'S WORSE... ramsey has more TDs than ints, hasslebeck doesn't. last year ramsey had 5 blockers, this year there's usually 7-8... hasslebeck doesn't have a great arm either. but you're more than welcome to keep on hating, just know that the facts say that you're wrong. |
Redskins 17
Bengals 13 |
The bengals come out and stack the box at the begining of the game say they only lose this game by us passing the ball. THey come on a blitz and knock brunnel out of the game. Ramsey comes in a while no spectacular connects on some easy middle to long range passes. In response the bengals back, then portis takes over. Then playaction pass to Coles. Defense is solid all game. Skins really behind Ramsey and win big. Brunnel is out of the year.
|
I think I'm coming to the realization that Brunell may never break out.
I heard Lenny P on ESPN radio the other day and as much is it hurts, I had to agree with what he was saying. He thinks Brunell has basically lost it. He said when he saw him in camp he saw a guy who's athleticism had faded, and his arm strength and accuracy were lacking. I'm still holding out hope that perhaps Gibbs has seen something that we haven't. That maybe he'll have that breakout game soon and the light bulb will turn on for him. I'm done waiting for that breakout game though, it's much easier to keep low expectations of him. That way I'm not losing my cool after every poor outing. |
Brunell again throws for less than 100 yards and will be showered with "boo's". Portis will again carry the offense
|
Havent most defences come out and stacked the box? If they havenet they certianly havent been doing thier film study ...
|
The defense will do its job. There's no question. But the offense is going to go as far as Taylor Jacobs takes them. Lewis will put 8 in the box to stop Portis. With Jacob's speed and crisp routes he will be the only guy to get any seperation. If Brunell has any completions, it will be to somebody that is WIDE open. Look for Jacobs to have a big day, 7 catches for 120 and a TD. Portis will have 100+ but no TD's again. 13 - 9, Redskins.
|
It'll be tight, like all the games are with the Skins' D keeping it close. The Bungles pass defense is in the top 3rd in the league, so I expect it will be another sub 100 yd day for Brunell. They are awful against the run, so Portis should have a very big day, which I think will be the difference.
Skins - 13 Bengals - 7 |
We win unless we can't contain Chad Johnson.
|
I dont think that it would be unreallistic to say that this could be our D's first shut out of the season.
Redskins - 17 Bengals - 0 |
Redskins 21. Yes,21
Bangles 9. I sure hope Ramsey can get in the game. |

Do me a favor, if I don't respond to your pointless statistical threads, then talk to someone else who really cares to discuss dumb shit with your backward Virginia Bush lovin' ass. Stupid statistics about Hasselbeck and Ramsey when both are riding the bench? Boy your'e real smart Statistics Anal List. |
all right guys, back to your corners....let's not let this thread or any other go down a dark path
|
easy fellas, everyone has their own opinion. we don't and won't know who is better for the skins between those two but me personaly , i'd take either one over brunell
|
brunell will go 27-40 for 457 and 5 tds
portis will go 20 carries for 213 and 2 tds It could happen
Yeah...and monkeys might fly outta my butt! :laughing2 We'd all like to believe it.... |
20-10,the skins finally score more than 17 pts in a game.i also say the d gets a td in this game.
|
Anyone else want at least 3 TDs for the Papa Johns deal? Maybe that's why I miss Spurrier so much, he got me toppings!
|
I think our offensive ineptitude will continue, but we'll ride on the strength of our defense creating turnovers and making a short field for the offense to get a couple scores. Cincinnati will put some points on the board but only after the defense relaxes and we have a comfortable lead. Portis will have a big game against the Bengals porous D racking up about 170 yds. Final score 'Skins 17 Bengals 10
