Smoooooooot on Elliot this morning
Anyone hear Fred Smoot on Elliott this morning? He talked about a bunch of stupid things, contracts, mud..., most importantly Champ. He still says that he's close to Champ, and basicly said Champ regrets leaving because of how well our D is doing and he wanted to be part of it.
Too bad! Give me Portis. |
Maybe Bailey can now see that the grass isn't always greener. I really don't see Denver going that far this year. Baliy wanted out of D.C. And that's what he got.
Thanks for Portis Shanahan. :biggthump :httr: |
I wonder how much Fred embellished Champ's feelings?
Champ was a great player, but I like our end of the deal. |
Who's Champ Bailey?
Didn't he play corner for us last year or something, and then we got Sean Springs and kicked him to the curb. |
Not exactly in that order, 009, but the ending is the same! ;)
|
Fred Smoot and Shawn Springs. To hell with everybody else's secondary. We are still 1#.

Champ left knowing a hall of fame coach was coming back, he also new that Gregg William's would be our coordianter, he made his bed now he can lie in it.

EXACTLY!! Everybody wanted Chump back and was willing to make sure he would stay here for the rest of his career. Why would Smoot really want to talk to him after what he done. No one was ever against him. Champ should still be here but since he is not I think that is great he is missing it all. He could of been one of the greatest to ever put on a Redskin uniform. :cussing: |

I had no problem with the Champ vs Portis trade. It was that 2nd rounder we gave up that was puzzling. |
i doubt that our defense would be as good with champ in at springs place
|
I think your right Springs brings a whole load of different things to the table and he has something to prove (Springs that is) Champ is a great CB but not a game changer... never has been

I can't remember Champ ever hitting guys like Springs does... |

w00t w00t! |

I didnt really get to see a ton of his games prior to this year, but has Springs always played like this. In addition I agree with you, Springs is throwing himsef around and making some great plays. |
Champ is a very solid tackler, I'd say he's one of the better corners in the league at tackling. He was never afraid at sticking his nose in on a running play.
But since he's gone let's rip on him for every flaw! He's a kinda ugly guy, isn't he? Springs is definitely more photogenic! |

What I meant was that Springs seems to hit guys and take them down rather than just take he down...but then again, the entire defense is hitting harder and more guys fly to the guy with ball. The defense this year seems more fierce than they have been in a long long time this of course is due to Williams. It's all him...Whatever he puts in the Gatorade, I want some. |
I would have liked to see what Champ could have done in this defense. I'm not crying that he's gone, but still, one has to wonder what Williams could have done for him. Look at what he's done for guys like Springs, Griffin, Pierce, etc. Average players look like stars, and the stars are playing like superstars.

Heck even the back ups are doing great. The Green Bay game what did we have 5 or 6 back ups starting? And we held Brett Farve to 28, thats not too bad.
