2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Pats have just cut Shawn Springs
|
re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
He can come here and become our own Darren Sharper.
|
re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Going to guess that it's probably the end of the road for him at 35. Then again, Ty Law keeps showing up on teams for no really good reason, so I guess there's hope.

re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
It would be great to get Andre Johnson from the Texans. He is unhappy with his contract. i can see a trade for him. Hint..... Fat Albert.

re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Springs will go to the division rival of a team T.O goes to. That does beg the question, "who would want him"?
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
TO might not be going anywhere this season! Maybe Springs will be watching TV this year too.

I was hoping the cowgirls would keep him. :) |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
I really enjoyed S.Springs I followed his career before he was a redskin. I dont think he is coming here he will we get picked up.
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Spring could possibly be a backup plan at FS if Kareem Moore doesnt work out. Remember he did play there with us before but its impossible to keep him healthy.
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
I guess we'll know soon enough who the culprit is. Hope it's not the Tanna-man
|
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Bring in Springs to play FS. He did it before with us and he'll probably have a good chance of starting with who we got back there now (Moore and Doughty).

Their has been a few CB's that have moved to the Saftey position and has prolonged their careers. It could work. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
I still think that the FO doesn't think we have a FS problem. If we are going to pick up a FS, I say let's get Otogwe.

Springs, "I'm not retiring!!!"

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
I could see Springs got to NO. Sharper's status is a little iffy (right?) because of the knee. Williams could put him at FS. Badabing!

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Yeah, Springs is chasing a championship, I don't see him here, could go to Dallas tho'

Matt Williamson's opinion on how the skins will handle the transition to the 3-4 and who plays where in it...

for clarification: Springs will go to Dallas because, as always the media is loving on them, and he is from there, but I am NOT saying they will go, any more than the Patriots did last year.

He grew up in the DMV area. Besides, if he goes there, that means T.O is coming here. (already burnt bridges in Philly and Dallas, and the Giants are content with what they have), and the guys at the top have passed on T.O for other vets.
money, injury, attitude, and age are the beginning of the end in the nfl
mia
Thats the problem. He seemed to be injured a lot or always playing injured which means he was not 100% or remotly close. His second issue is he thinks he's worth more then he truly is or what market thinks he should be. I think if he eats a little humble pie and takes a pay cut, and takes a Safety position vs. CB position he might last a few more yrs. Problem is I think when he was with us he didn't like the idea of being a safety. |

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
From Rich Tandler:
McCardell, Kelly, and quarterback Donovan McNabb have been putting in some extra time after team workouts. “Every day after workouts, me and Donovan have stayed out running routes get our timing down,” he said. “And I stay out with Keenan and he really harps on the way I run a route. It's good because you want to give Donovan the feeling that you're going to be in the right place at the right time.” McCardell is working Kelly and Thomas hard at the request of the players. “I'm going to push them and push them and push them,” McCardell said. “I'm going to push them to the edge and that's the way those guys wanted it. We talked about it, and they want it so I'm going to do that because I can tell they both are hungry and want to win.” This is a make or break year for Kelly. Players rarely get a fourth season to prove themselves before the team starts to look elsewhere. While there is a long way this year to go he is off to a good start. |

BINGO! On a side note, all the talent in the world, 2 yrs in the league and Kelly still has trouble running routes? But this is what I have been screaming about for ...well since Hixon's second term. Every year it seemed we were bringing in new WR talent. No developement. Now we are forced to develope 2+ WR's in one summer. The good news is we didn't keep the same coach's and only replaced Hixon cause I'm betting both Thomas and Kelly would be gone after this yr. I'm betting if they both have a half decent yr then they will stay to be developed further. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
Why isn't Thomas out there?! CANCER!

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
What's the history of the beef between Springs and Owens?
Can't see Springs returning here. If I were him I'd play in Dallas to be with my very ill father. IF he gets an offer, that's where I see him going. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)
There's no beef off the field, they're friends.

Shanahan said that we're still talking to Westbrook.
