It is but damn if you shouldn't stick your head out of the sand and see who is about to devour you.

if you like food inc., there are a few really good books you can read too. fast food nation and the omnivore's dilemma immediately come to mind. fascinating stuff.

I read fast food nation when i was in college. It was a good read. I was never so jaded towards the obesity/fast food problem America has until i read that book....

Repost, I have talk about it before in the movie thread. Dagger!

Anyways since watching the film, probably six months ago we basically shop mainly organic in my house. Especially meats and eggs! And now that summer/spring has rolled around we hit up our local farmers market for veggies.

I will have to say I have honestly felt better since making the switch and my family members say the same as well.

It is a little more expensive to eat this way but in the long run if you figuring the quailty of your life and health it is a no brainier.

It is a great doc and they speak more to the quality of our food vs. shock images of animals being slaughtered in gross ways.

Dude, for some one who is doing the Power 90 and trying to do the healthy think you owe it to yourself to watch this film. Seriously.

This movie really is not about that, it looks at the quality of our food, not so much our eating habits.

I watched some of it, not the entire movie.

It felt like a Michael Moore conspiracy movie to me. I'm not so sure that the examples used are necessarily the standard and as widespread as the movie claims. Seemed like it was more of a one-sided agenda-pusher as opposed to an accurate documentary.

I'm not naive to think some of it is untrue, I know there are some bad practices...but it seems to try to incriminate all farmers and food providers, most of who don't do these things.

have you read fast food nation? the title isnt misleading, more like incomplete. it has plenty of commentary on the way our food makes it to the table, not necessarily just fast food.

I eat mostly organic at home and I avoid junk for the most part when I eat out. I don't eat at fast food chains either.

Oh and last night was day 90 on the Power 90! Moving on to the Power 90 Master Series next, and after that... P90X.

Yes I have read it and to me Food,Inc had a more powerful effect on my eating habits or what I eat then Fast Food Nation but both are good sources of information.

Oh brother. Looks like our country is gearing up for the next "war" -- first it was the War on poverty, then the war on drugs, then the war on terror ... now it's the "War on Obesity".

On and on it goes. The only thing all these "wars" do is take away more of our freedoms and cost us money.

Am I the only one who's done with all of the wars?

It's very Orwellian, by keeping the focus on the noble war, all other sins of the government can be forgiven. The War on Drugs was particularly powerful.

You can stream it on your Xbox if you don't want to waste a mailing.

Wow, I think Buster is right they need to cut me a check for promoting this film.

Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs
so the police can bother me

though I'd have to say that regulation of the food industry is probably somewhat important.. I mean unless we just want to start shipping in lead-filled produce from China

well played sir.

on eating right: an easy philosophy to take when it comes to food is to buy things that are fresh. if it is packaged and has more than a handful of ingredients, let it stay on the shelf. if you cant pronounce something in the ingredients, you may not want to put it in your body.

Good question, maybe Insanity? Or another round of P90X? I'll figure something out to keep the sweat flowin'.

Might as well try Insanity, maybe do some CrossFit.
