I Apologize

Is this what they mean when they say "Apologizing for America?"

Re: I Apologize

Yeah, thats some bullcrud right there! Saying that he's sorry for BP having to pay for their clean up! Complete bullcrud! But, these Republicans...................especially those from Texas...............never cease to amaze me. Personally, I think America would be better off without Texas! Instead of Texas succeeding we should just kick them out! Think about it. What good does Texas do for our country? They do serve some good steak. I can give them that, but its just not worth it. Its not worth having these dumbasses as part of our country just because they have some good steak down there. Heck, I can get a good steak up here too. So, its just not worth it.

Not quite my friend, they (GOP) are still calling it a half-hearted apology and Minority Leader John Boehner is calling for Barton to step down from the committee. This is still rolling and I'm loving it.

Figurative vs literal apology. It's OK to apologize, I just don't think this instance warrants it.

Maybe it was the campaign contributions from BP that made him forget. I've got no problem bouncing this guy from the committee, replace him with someone who isn't going to grandstand on stupidity.

Not the smartest thing ever said , however ; he did not say we are sorry for you having to clean up / pay for the mess . He is playing politics using the word " shakedown " . BP's last QTR report they had 7 billion on their balance sheet As spill costs mount, BP shares tumble anew - World business- msnbc.com , so 20 billion now may be impossible , besides the clean up may cost much more than 20 billion , maybe much less ? I still think we should try and stuff fat Al in that damn well .

Every Dem in the country needs to play this video over and over leading up to the elections. This should be the centerpiece, because it's one of those things that makes an honest, decent person fume the more it's seen and heard.

The lack of historical context by the little dbag from Texas and every other moron who tries to pretend the administration's response is somehow extraordinary will not persist if the Dems keep on this too. Truman (long before he was President) took damn near every American corporation supplying the WWII effort to task w/ his Congressional watchdog group. Often times "shaking down" bullshit contracts and otherwise recouping monies from the military industrial complex. He did this almost single-handedly as a Congressman and over 50 yrs ago to boot.
