If you watch the clip notice how Regan talks too the people while the other talk down to the people.

Re: These Voices Don't Speak for the Rest of Us.

Really you two should make your own web blog. Why do you guys consistently push political talk on a Redskins board?

It would like me going to a Apple board and starting threads about Oranges all the time.

Well it's not like they're the only two culprits, plus this is the off-topic section...I just hope people don't make decisions in the voting booth based on cleverly edited YouTube videos

Re: These Voices Don't Speak for the Rest of Us.

I again have said this a million times we need to create a political section on here so that all this kind of crap is not junking up the fun parking lot.

And before you say then don't click on it...read the title on this one how would I know this is not another political BS thread.

Yeah maybe we should start up a politics only forum. I'm getting tired of it too.

Here is my issue there are 5 threads that show up on the left side of the main page in the parking lot. Normally I come here glance over to see if there is anything good in the parking lot, well 4 out of the 5 threads are some pissing contest between the left and the right and one is a true parking lot thread. Yes I know I can click into the parking lot and search all threads.

To me the parking lot should be filled with fail threads, funny stuff, movie reviews, etc... not bitching and moaning about politics.

Well we had a political section once, and then even directed people to another site altogether. But then we reintroduced political discussion I think for the presidential election.

I don't really care for it, because it's the same crap from the same people over and over again. Oh well, whatever will be will be, I'll continue to only discuss politics (when I feel like it) with GMScud through private messages

You have been a member sense 2005 and its funny how now your complaining about political threads but didn't have an issue with the 100's of Bush bashing threads. I say there was a new Bush bashing thread about once a week and there are alot less now if anything. If you read the discription of the Parking Lot it says "Off-topic chatter pertaining to movies, TV, music, politics, current events, video games, etc".

Re: These Voices Don't Speak for the Rest of Us.

I guess that since I'm not as frequent a poster as most that my opinion really doesn't matter to a hill of beans but I don't care where it is. I read it sometimes, I disagree with alot of the political views that are held here. However, we all can believe what we want. In Off Topic I've talked extensively about my morning dooks so why can't somone spew their political views here ? Politics is funny because we all argue about who is right but we lose sight of the main goal which is to help this country prosper. The ideals that are supposed to be our main concern sometimes aren't. We pick and choose when to use the "values" that the founding fathers of this country put together.

As far as what Reagan said, and what the liberals said. I believe that the rich should be taxed. Yup I said it they should. If I were wealthy I'd probably disagree but someone has to pay the rent for this house. Whether there is a Democrat in office or a Republican in office things will be fcked until we start to care about our fellow man. As long as we as human beings remain as selfish as we have been since the beginning of time then we will be in the same rut.

Just my opinion

Yeah, you bumped a 21 month-dead political thread just yesterday. ;)

Where's the clever editing? It's two sides in their own words.

Tough to disagree with the content, so I guess resorting to downplaying it is the only option.

I knew these wise words from a true leader would cause some dirty diapers around here...but if you actually take a chance to listen to it without bias...you may learn something.

Keep up, man. It's trendy to bash and mock President Bush...but it's offensive and downright racist to tell the truth about President Obama.

Then you should be THRILLED...the rich DO pay taxes...too much actually.

Yeah we really need to hear from Ronald Reagan performing a political soliloquy to figure out what to do about our floundering economy.

The Republicans economic record speaks for itself. It's abysmal.

Fiscal Conservatives. Yeah right. Reaganomics(aka 'Trickle Down" or Supply Side") theory is just what we should be looking at when trying to figure how the Republicans drove us into such a deep ditch of debt. Thanks for bringing that up.

I would rather the publicly elected officials try and make things work as opposed to the Corporations.

If you want "Big Money" or maybe you prefer "Big Oil" or even possibly "Big Insurance" running even more of the show inside the Beltway then absolutely vote Republican.

Big Bad Mortgage is running the show (into the ground) now.

Look up Freddie and Fannie's political contributions and where the President is on the list. ;)

The funny thing is last week I watched convention acceptance speeches of both Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama and they're pretty much the exact same...it's so funny.

I would bet that this is one of the few sports pages out there that you can talk politics. Next to the Skins politics is the biggest game in town.

You cannot escape politics in DC or the surrounding Metro Area.

Honestly I'd be cool with killing political talk altogether. The forum isn't "better" since it has been reintroduced and it is very tiresome. I know it sometimes can pull you in but for the most part it doesn't bring much value in my opinion.

I guess we could just start a Ramsey thread or maybe we could talk some about JC. The people who say the political threads are the same thing over and over and the same people saying the same thing over and over should read their own football threads in the off season. I love football but how many times can you discuss JC or or O line. I don't follow college football so its hard for me to discuss the draft stuff. I enjoy reading those threads but I just don't know enough to discuss those topics.

JC? Now you want religious threads? By the way, his name was spelled Ramses.

I know I just laugh when someone has 300 JC post about the same thing then would come to the parking lot and accuse us of having the same argument over and over again.

Matty have you been using your boat much this year?

I don't really disagree with what Reagan said in this 1964 speech, but saying is always much easier than doing

Yeah we try to get out on it as much as possible. Man the summer is flying by, I'm really going to miss it when we have to put it away for the winter.

You get out on yours a lot?
