I pretty much agree with what they said about Wsh. I am a little concerned with our WR's but they have to be given the chance before we say their no good. |

Re: Now that camp is over, ESPN has training camp reports.
I for one am thrilled at how healthy we got through camp. Sure Kelly is hurt, but what's new there? My biggest concern health-wise is Jamaal Brown's hip. We really need him.

If Kelly misses preseason game#3 lights out for his career.

Re: Now that camp is over, ESPN has training camp reports.
Yeah they did ours almost 2 weeks ago I think, it'll be good to go back and see the ones of some of our opponents that I hadn't checked though

Brown was a questionable pickup with his situation there. We might have been better served at just drafting another linemen instead of a TE. Brown is a great talent, but might become a big bust over the long haul if he is out often. You don't want Brown to be like Kelly at all. We gave up future talent for him. |

Good point, but I hope your wrong about Brown. |

I do too. I think we will luck out with him, but who knows. I believe in Allen and Shanny, but this draft was a little weird for me. We drafted a TE, when we have two young stud TEs already, and a speedy, but woefully undersized WR. We should have drafted another lineman or two, or a LB. Austin is a good bet to be either cut outright or stuck on the PS. Whether Jamaal works out or not, his acquisition cost us future picks. A little more youth and depth would go along way to help Shanny build something special in DC. |
Re: Now that camp is over, ESPN has training camp reports.
^ part of the problem is both Cooley and Davis are more pass catching TE's so MS picked up a blocking TE. One that he could also try out at FB.
I agree that we should have picked up some more young OL. I think we all know there are issues at WR but I see Armstrong actually being a beast in this scheme and clearly it has helped Thomas. The other position to get a boost from this scheme will be RB. |

Usually doubtful in the preseason is equal to probable during the regular season. Everything gets amplified in the preseason because teams are extra cautious You usually don't hear about these type of injuries when they happen during the regular season. The only way I would want to add another young guy at this point is if we were to find someone that could definitely start this year. I mean we're at a point right now where we're going to have cut a promising young lineman because we won't have room. Capers, Cook, Kory L, Edwin Williams, and Chad Rinehart make for a nice haul of prospects and provide good depth. On top of that Heyer is actually playing well at RT. I personally hope they keep 10 guys but usually teams carry 9 lineman. |

IMO..I think he's done in Washington unless he has a Victor Cruz outing in game #3 or #4... |

It's amazing! Who would of thought that not beating your guys into submission durring 2 a days would result in minimal injuries? Coaches at every level can learn something from this example. |
Re: Now that camp is over, ESPN has training camp reports.
I think we had a good camp. I don't ever remember coming out of camp this healthy. Hopefully that's a sign the off-season conditioning program was a success. I know MS took a "lighter" approach to things so that factors in as well, but it sounds like the team had a nice balance of working smart but still working hard.

I agree and I like the approach that they took towards practice as well. They practiced like it was a game. 11 on 11 then special teams then 11 on 11 and so on and so forth. You could not argue with the results either. Now I am not going to pick us for the Superbowl just yet but we were arguably the best game ready team in the NFL last week. I'm not just talking about starters either. It was from the top of the roster all the way down to guys that will get cut. Practice as a team...play as a team...BRILLIANT! |
Re: Now that camp is over, ESPN has training camp reports.
Kelly is done IMO. Why keep a guy that is injury prone? I'm not sure we should even keep R D Williams

I think this is a great piece of info as well from ESPN.com
What I am realizing more and more is that Shanahan is not just an amazing leader/coach but is also and excellent motivator. His techniques both with his players and his staff really elevates the team play and keeps it high. The quick paced practices really forces everyone to pay attention and be ready. His calling out slackers and making them run sprints keeps them on their toes. Canceling practices and letting players rest when the play level in practice drops helps maintain the high level of play. I really like this: "Shanahan is conducting an interesting experiment with some of his former players. In the past couple of weeks, he has turned to his former standouts to help teach these Redskins his system. Former Broncos star Terrell Davis spent more than a week with the Redskins, helping pass along the lessons he learned in Shanahan's offense. Former Buccaneers and Broncos running back Michael Pittman has done the same. Former Raiders, Panthers and Broncos quarterback Steve Beuerlein has been brought in to work with Redskins quarterbacks. And even former Broncos and Jets safety Steve Atwater is now in Washington, working with Redskins defensive backs. The former players have enjoyed getting a taste of the coaching life." I guess what I am really trying to say is one of Shanahan's strengths is creating a really productive and positive work environment. I like it. |

Sounds good all around for our Skins. Can't wait to blank dallas in week one.

I think this is a great piece of info as well from ESPN.com
Very good read and gives some insight as to why Haslet got the job in DC, as much as all of us were dissappointed with the hire of Jim Haslett, I like the hire and what he could bring to this team. Schefter hit on alot of good things Haslett brgins to a team that already has great players. |

I got a question for you. Figured you could answer it best since these guys are your friends. One "complaint" I heard about the previous Redskins trainers was that their training methods were unconventional and maybe a bit ahead of its time, so a lot of players resisted their methods. What sayeth the Scud? |
