Sounds like the Redskins conditionally received Hall Davis, a 7th round pick of the Rams in this draft who would play OLB in our scheme.

And if it's conditional, that tends to mean we'd acquire a 7th rounder in next years draft if Hall Davis doesn't make our opening day roster. But it also might be conditional on Morris making their roster.

Yeah that seems to be what we got, but I don't know what the specific conditions are. Like how they were able to trade a guy they said wasn't going to make the team anyway

Wow Allen and Shanahan don't mess around. They sure decided they did not want this guy to be a Redskin for some reason. Something they saw they did not like. Kind of surprised they did not put him on the practice squad or or faked an injury and put him on IR so they could take soem time to develop him.
They make up their mind on someone and make a move. I like it.

I love that they were able to get something for him instead of cutting him. At the same time you know theres going to be Skin fans around the blogosphere that are going to see this and think that we can simply execute a trade with any potential cut. Like "ok, here's my proposal. Lets trade Malcolm Kelly for VJax!!!"

I guess in a way it was. That 149th pick was actually the result of a Rams-Falcons trade where the Falcons got the 135th pick overall...which the Rams initially got from us in the Carriker deal

So Morris wasn't exactly traded for Hall Davis it seems. Each was traded to the other team for a conditional pick. So theoretically we could end up with both Davis and a pick for Morris and a pick or neither. Still quite confusing

I agree. This is a long time coming. I would have cut him last year. I do not have patience for players that play very little and yet can not stay healthy. Imagine if he actually was qualified to be a starter and got playing time.....the guy would crumble.
I really do not like taking WR's and RB's high (round 1 or 2) in the draft.
I have never agreed with it.

I have to plead ignorance on this guy -- did he play in the Buffalo game? I remember Shanny mentioning him the post-game presser saying he got nicked up. But that's honestly the first I've heard of the guy.

Sellers' backup could definitely play, unless Shanahan wants to go 3 TE or 2 HB formations.

This probably has more to do with special teams than anything.
Defensive End/OLB's tackle better than FB/TEs
Not to mention our depth is questionable at OLB and is fine at TE...and adequate at FB
