David Buehler
I was having my water cooler meeting this morning with a buddy from the office and I was saying D. Thomas should have had a TD on that one return he just couldn't past the kicker, I was like that is pathetic.
Well come to find out the Cowboys place kicker is no "regular" kicker. David Buehler |
Re: David Buehler
Yeah I think on the Redskins Blog they had something about this earlier this week. Not all kickers are chumps. Anyone remember Kevin Butler back in the day on the Bears, dude liked to hit!

His problem was he hit one too many guys and it started to take toll and ended up making him pretty injury prone.

Hall just had leg issues at the end, but yeah he wasn't afraid of sticking his nose in there. |
Re: David Buehler
Kickers take that shit personally when you bust a return. Kind of like pitchers when you stand and look at the "shot to the stands" to long?

Re: David Buehler
A guy that never seems to be mentioned much by us & the Skins faithful, but was a great kicker & won us quite a few games - Chip Lohmiller (e.g. Dallas game in dallas 1991, he won that one for us).
He was a big dude & decent athlete, but it was so rare that he actually had to make a tackle. |
Re: David Buehler
THIS is how you deal with a....Rogue kicker

Re: David Buehler
I like to think Thomas would have bowled over the kicker but if I remember correctly it looked like he was slightly off balance or tried to make a last minute cut and the kicker grabbed him while off balance and brought him down. Thomas should have just stiff armed him. lol.

John Hall was a big hitter too. Horrible kicker unfortunately. |
Re: David Buehler
Buehler also shanked that gimme field goal the other night. I'm unimpressed by a kicker who can tackle but can't kick. Maybe Buehler should take a day off.

Re: David Buehler
I remeber reading his wiki way back when and he beat a lot of the big name players from USC's draft class:
NFL Draft Buehler was one of twelve USC players invited to the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine.[10] At the Combine, Buehler opted to participate in areas not required of kickers, and recorded results on strength and speed tests that were better than other regarded linebackers and offensive linemen; he recorded 25 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press test, better than USC teammate Rey Maualuga, linemen Michael Oher and Eugene Monroe, and equal to Aaron Curry, and ran 4.56 and 4.63 seconds in the 40-yard dash, better than teammates Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews III.[11][12] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Buehler Last year he was the kick off specialist because he has such a strong leg, his accuracy has always been a problem. Last year he also played in a lot of speical teams, like kickoff return, punting team and punt return because hes so fast. I think hes just kicking this year, but im sure they can find a place for him if his accuracy continues to be a problem. |

Bingo, his 6'2" 225 pound "freak of a specimen" ass was dropped by my fantasy team! That's right David...that JUST happened! |
Re: David Buehler
Seriously, a thread about the Cowgurl kicker?
Where's Gano's 2010 thread? He's been money. Even on FGs that don't count, he nails them. |

That's right David...that JUST happened!
Lol. Of all the Cowboys to ride with for fantasy, you chose one of the dudes out of many on that team that can be called INCONSISTENT at best. Romo, Austin, and the defense are the only three on that team worth a damn every week in fantasy. |

You NEVER EVER EVER pick a kicker before the last 2 picks...he plays for an offense that should have been explosive. Thus the pick. Doesn't matter, he's someone else's issue now. |
Re: David Buehler
Yeah well he missed a field goal today too; being beefy doesn't make you accurate

Re: David Buehler
Since this thread is basically about a Cowboy who chokes:
Look for NFL to fine Keith Brooking, Igor Olshansky | Dallas Cowboys Blog | Sports News | News for Dallas, Texas | The Dallas Morning News Last week, the NFL gave Jay Ratliff a $5,000 fine for a roughing the passer penalty against Washington's Donovan McNabb as a violation of the Brady Rule. This week, look for Igor Olshansky and Keith Brooking to hear from the league. Brooking had an unnecessary roughness penalty in the first quarter when he lifted up quarterback Jay Cutler and rammed him into the turf. Olshansky had a roughing the passer penalty when he hit Cutler a little late for a 15-yard flag. Old-time football fans probably hated both penalties, but the NFL will do anything and everything to protect the quarterback. And while it was not a penalty in the game, Chicago's Charles Tillman could also hear from the league for making contact with Tony Romo's head while on a blitz. |
Re: David Buehler
Even the glorious Cowboys aren't immune from the NFL if they are found trying to kill a "cash cow", in which both Cutler and McNabb are. mwahahaha.
That' said though, I still suspect this rule isn't applied equally. After all, it's only after a "big name" gets hurt that they go change the rules. |
