Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread

Well its time for some REDSKIN football. Let see if we can get this one done without having to hold our breath down to the last snap of the game.

We should take care of the team fairly easily. Limit Jackson running game production and get to Bradford HARD and early.

I expect a solid day all three phases from the Redskins. Even CP gets moving, against the Rams weak D. Maybe even pounds the rock for 100.

Discuss.

I would love for this to be an easy win, but in today's NFL...well, insert your favorite cliche.

If he doesn't get 100+ today, I don't know when he will.

Seriously. I like our offense to have another very good game.

What we need is for our defense to turn it around after getting pumped up and down the field all day last week.

I think we win 28-17.

For some odd reason I think this is another close game and we end up holding on to win. I'd really love a blow out because my hair is turning gray and falling out on its own. It don't need any more help.

Desperate teams are always a concern because they are so unpredictable. I hope we won't underestimate this team. Steven Jackson is their one player that should easily get the attention of the defense.

Here's all I know... Its gonna be about 5am in Korea when this game starts, and I took the day off tommorow just to watch a blowout! They better not let me down! HAILSKINS! GO D!!! (and an extra special please go crazy CP, I'm starting you this week in fantasy!)

I am a bit nervous about this one. We need to be careful that this is not a trap game. Skins need to get going early and not let Bradford and Co build confidence and stick around.

That would be one of my favorite days of Redskins football if that happens. It's been FOREVER since the Skins had a straight up beat-down of a lesser opponent.

Does anyone know if the Skins vs. Rams or Jags vs. Eagles will be aired on Fox in the SE region? I would assume the skins will be.

Defense makes it difficult for Bradford early on. They adjust and he sneaks in a couple.

Redskins 24
Lambs 17

Skins offense looks diminished, facing injuries and a road environment.

Skins defense looks resurgent as it confuses and abuses a rookie QB.

Skins, 20-7.

I would think after last years ram game and THE NEW BOSS at the controls. This is a non issue. This Redskin team is looking no further than this ram team period

We have to and will minimize the damage there most dangerous weapon in Jackson delivers with helmets on helmets and gang tackles, I can see him going out of the game with a damaged something. Secondly put Bradford on his ass right away and keep him on the grass/fake turf. Give him a big dose of the NFL.

People are underestimating Bradford. He's quite capable of tossing it, especially against the middle of the defense.

This link should help you answer your question on which game is playing where. This guy updates the maps weekly, so its a great bookmark. It was acting up this morning but I have been using this site all season. Hope this helps:
NFL - Everything you need to know about sports on television - the506.com

On to the game. I hope we rattle Bradford, force some turnovers, and score early and often. Of course no injuries. Just once I would like to watch the 4th quarter with confidence and a regular heart rate.

Skins prevail 27-17

after the past few years it's hard to say you can see this team really laying the wood to a lesser team, but with this new reegime i hope we finally can. i would love to see the skins beat the crap out of the rams along the lines of a 34-10. that would be a real good house warming present for me, this is the first game i am watching in my new house on my new 63" samsung silly ass 3d plasma and i would love to see a skins ass whoopin. httr!!

Mine too. I get sick of the close ones. The last serious enjoyable blowout was 2005 against the Cowboys.

But on a side note: Where the frack is SmootSmack?? (That should be a TV Show)

Heyer or Jammal BETTER protect the blind side!

Redskins' Trent Williams out vs. Rams
Posted by Michael David Smith on September 26, 2010 12:46 PM ET
Redskins rookie offensive tackle Trent Williams was one of many players listed as questionable on this week's injury report, which supposedly meant he had a 50-50 chance of playing.

Now the chance has been reduced to zero.

Chris Russell of ESPN 980 reports that Williams is inactive for today's game against the Rams.

Williams left last week's game with a knee injury, although an MRI revealed no structural damage.

I hope you got 911 on the line. It'll be another heart attack 4th quarter.

How about we just kick their ass and be done with it. I'll be glad when the day comes that games against teams like the Lambs don't cause such pregame jitters. HTTR!!!

I don't think Heyer is much better than Mario Henderson or the up-and-coming Veldheer. McNabb better watch his back.

Fortunately McNabb's pretty adept at getting out of jams. He may need it today. I think Heyer is capable of having a solid game...whether he does or not is a whole 'nother question.

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread

Other inactives RI:

Trent Williams apparently inactive for Rams game

Rookie left tackle Trent Williams, who suffered knee and toe injuries during last week's loss to Houston, apparently will be inactive for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams.

Williams practiced only on Friday this week and was listed as questionable for the Rams game. According to ESPN980, Williams is among the inactives in what would have been his third NFL game. That means Stephon Heyer will move into the starting lineup - either at left tackle for Williams, or at right tackle. That would send Jammal Brown to the left side, where he played for the bulk of his career with the New Orleans Saints.

Also expected to be inactive is receiver Anthony Armstrong, who suffered a groin injury last week. That means third-year wideout Devin Thomas could see his first action from scrimmage of the season. Thomas has been used only on special teams through the first two games.

The other inactives: John Beck is the third quarterback, new running back Chad Simpson, defensive end Jeremy Jarmon, defensive lineman Anthony Bryant, safety Chris Horton and linebacker Perry Riley.

Thus, rookie tight end Logan Paulsen will be active for the first time. And, as expected, free safety Kareem Moore will make his season debut after missing the first two games with a knee injury.

Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, who missed the Houston game with a sprained ankle, is also active today. People in the organization said Haynesworth appeared to be committed to practice during the week, and some expect him to have a significant impact against the Rams -- which would be his first impact in the Mike Shanahan era.
