I was thinking the same thing... I'd have put us at like 25.

Heck right Now I'd be tempted to put us behind Va Tech.

Well we should at least be behind 27 Rams. Oh well in time... In time.

The quote form Clayton is below:

The pressure is on Donovan McNabb and Mike Shanahan for Sunday's trip to Philadelphia. (Clayton)

I think the pressure is on Hasslet to hold the Eagles under 30 points. There is no way the Skins win this game. If you are a betting man take the Eagles and give up the points (I don't even know what the points are, but give them up) I've been depressed by the Skins all week. If they can't beat the Rams, we are all in for another long losing season and its just September! I've been a a Skins fan for 31 years, and I'm just about tired of watching this team every year. I'm going to give them one more try this Sunday, but if they lay another Egg, I think they will free up my Sundays for the rest of the Fall. Sorry to bring you all down, but it just an honest assessment of watching the same thing every year. I'm tired of making excusess for them, and reading the excussing by everyone else. The Skins are what they are, no matter what new "signing" or "change" they try to throw at us each Spring. A Perenial Loser. With the Eagles, Packers, Colts and Bears as the next 4 opponents. The Skins will be 1-6 by Halloween.

Does anyone else see a game we are winning before Detroit?

Yup. I see us winning this week. I also think that the Bears will come back to earth before we take the field against them.

Funny how when we win, we're always underrated. When we lose, we're overrated.

Jay Cutler is too poised to let the pressure get to him and Martz knows how to scheme against defenses. I see Hall or Rogers giving up a big one to Knox or Hester. And Aromashodu will get a TD. It always happens when we have a player and he gets away.

The Bears are definitely a little overrated right now. Take away that PI call from Monday night and everyone would be singing a totally different tune about them right now. Cutler made a horrible throw on that play. They have a bad OL that is going to catch up with them eventually.

But they are 3-0, beating Dallas and Green Bay. Dallas may be overrated, but they are in the playoff hunt every year. We are 1-2 and could easily be 0-3 if it wasn't for the holding call. As far as Chicago overrated, not sure about that. They have beaten quality teams. Beaten them. They beat Dallas pretty handily, and the D is looking pretty decent. Cutler will only get better, Forte is getting the ball more and Hester is becoming an actual receiver. I think they have the talent to be very dangerous.

Re: NFL Week 4 Power Rankings

I'm not taking anything away from Chicago they're off to a great start. I still don't see them winning their division though. They have some serious OL issues that can't be ignored. They haven't been able to run the ball effectively yet (Forte is averaging under 3 per rush) and they can't protect Cutler very well.

We could also easily be 2-1, but it's not as fun to speculate that way is it?

Chicago could easily be 2-1 if it weren't for a penalty too.

True, but if Im Green Bay or Minnisota im nervous. I think they are abundant questions with both Green Bay and Minn. Chicago win Monday night was huge for that team. O-line questions? Sure, but Green Bay and Minn are experiencing the same. Green Bay loss of Ryan Grant is monsterous. Farve's play so far and lingering ankle with the loss of Rice...their passing attack is not gonna be the same this year. I think Chicago defense is just as good as Minn or Green Bay. Its going to be fun to see how it plays out. NFC north is mos def better than the Beast so far IMO

We are always fine if we win, I'm just saying after the performance against the Rams, I don't see the Skins beating anyone, unless they start playing better Defense. I just tired of watching Landry flex his muscles after making a tackle 12 yards down the field. I want to scream at the TV, "Yes, thank you Landry for making the tackle, but the guy still got a first down! What are you so proud of?"

scowan 09-29-2010 02:17 PM

Re: NFL Week 4 Power Rankings

I just looked and Landry and McIntosh are leading the league (ranked 1 and 3) in tackles. Is that something to be proud of, or does that mean your Defense is on the field too much, becuase they can stop anyone on 3rd down.?

How did you feel after the hard fought win over the Cowboys?

I felt like we won a game we really lost. After we took the 3 points of the board it was like our light switch was turned off. Up until that point I was very impressed but then... Same ole thing as usual.

Glad we "beat" the Cowboys, but not so sure the Cowboy fans were feeling like they got beat strait up and are probably looking forward to our next meeting more than we are.

Landry can flex all he wants with the way he's playing this year. Wish we had 11 Landry's out there.

LL is beasting it this year, leads the league in tackles so far.. But I do see where scowan is coming from, don't flex after they get a first down

Chico23231 09-29-2010 02:49 PM

Re: NFL Week 4 Power Rankings

Rather see Landry flexing than some of the other body language I saw in the 4th quarter last game by our defense. Head down, head shaking, hands on hip, looks of not wanting to be there, frustration...
How did you feel after the hard fought win over the Cowboys?
Smoot, I was happy as were the rest of you, because we beat the Cowboys, but after my excitement wore off, I felt more like we escaped, than won. Now 3 games into the season, I feel like we are an 0-3 team that got lucky in week 1.

In Week 1, the Cowboys couldn't really gameplan for a Jim Hasslett lead Redskin's defense. After there was some "film" out on our D, we could get schemed against, and now the flaws are being taken advantage of.

Texans game was a joke we dominated for 3 qtrs damn near.. After watching The Rams game again last night, I saw a flat team that wanted the game handed to them.. The Kickoff out of bounds, The Moss fumble, Blocked punt all were crazy freak plays.. On the road down 14-0, its hard to fight back and win that game against anyone. Lets remember the Rams would have beat ARZ if it wasn't for that "Leon Lett Fumble play" by the Rams DL Player.. And then STL also had Oakland until SORRY ASS was benched. So Im not freaking out just yet, Dallas (who we beat) had a must win game in Hou and won. We can beat Philly folks, VICK is not better than McNabb or even Romo.. Yea he has more weapons but a SHIT OL. With Trent back.. who knows. HTTR!

has he really looked that good? and thats an honest question, i haven't had much time this year and have only gotten to watch the games in person and live(no dvr for a while, or internet, or truck, been a rough year) and have been mostly focused on the front 7. the db's are the one aspect were we had the least change, and as odd as it is to say i think our secondary is the strongest part of our d right now.

as for laron's flexin and crap i think we all know that s will never stop. the one thing i wish he would do is do more flexin and jumpin around before the play starts and when they are coming back from tv timeouts. that is one thing that we have been missing for a while now i used to love watching lavar, st, and marcus start jumping around bouncing off each other gettin amped right before the snap. god i miss st...

The Bears and the Redskins were on the same boat for their first week win. One little thing changes (for them if Megatron doesn't drop the ball; for us if Barron doesn't hold Orakpo) and both teams lose their respective game.

If they voted for the Pro Bowl today, he would definitely draw strong consideration. He's also leading the NFL in tackles. He's been one of the few bright spots on D.
