Here's what I'm worried about...
Look, I'm not going to start a thread that criticizes how we won, Damn...a win is a win, and I appreciate where we are right now. That being said, I have some areas where I would like to hear your thoughts.
O Line: McNabb was under pressure the entire game, and the running game was non-existent. Is the O Line really as bad as it looked tonight? D Line: Rodgers had all day...all day. We got to him towards the end of the game, but for the most part he wasn't bothered. What does it take to get pressure on the QB? Pass Coverage: It seemed like most throws from Rodgers resulted in a 6-10 yard gain. Why are we playing so soft...? Banks...he better be returning every punt from now on...he can be and will be a game changer...no question. Thoughts? |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
Well Trent held his own while he was in the game, but towards the end it got bad, and Jammal was getting beat by Clay Matthews when he was in the game. Cullen Jenkins was getting a lot of pressure as well. I would worry about it more if we start seeing consistent pressure on a weekly basis. So far this season they haven't looked as bad as they did today.
And I don't necessarily agree with you about your d-line case. Even when they did get pressure on some occasions Rodgers anticipated it and got the ball out quickly. That's just a matter of Rodgers knowing the blitz is coming and getting rid of it. And we did get sacks, and most of them came at crucial moments. I was starting to believe Orakpo wasn't doing enough to counter getting held constantly, but I was definitely wrong on that one. He can still get better at countering the arm around the neck, probably by going lower and beating that, but he is already very effective at selling the hold and getting pressure. Other guys were getting pressure too, Fletch and Alexander were able to cleanly beat their o-line on that one sack and Jarmon had pressure at the end as well. Guys were getting pressure from my pov. Pass coverage I don't have an answer for. I assume they do what Haslett calls, and if Hasletts calls for them to give them room in respect for their deep capabilities, then that's what they have to do. Usually when a cornerback is back off the LOS it means they don't want to give up anything deep. Notice how Jennings didn't really get involved? We did give up some underneath-intermediate stuff but we were able to stop them when it mattered. Everybody agrees about Banks. We just need to be more disciplined on special teams because it will get called back everytime with blocks in the back and obvious penalties on us. Once they become more disciplined we'll truly be able to benefit from his presence. And the secret will eventually get out and teams will stop kicking it to him. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
I just hope Trent Williams and Jammal Brown can play next week, Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis...yikes...

Does anybody have a clue why Dock was inactive for the game because Kory Lickinwhatever blows

Dock is apparently worse in shanahans zone blocking scheme |

Trent Williams is a rookie, and he is the best we got. It is too bad he already has missed playing time due to injuries even by game 5. |

Dom Capers D really brings the heat

Lickinwhateva was getting killed today...missed pick ups, Cullen f*ing him up, we couldnt run up the middle. I find it hard to believe Dock couldnt do a better job. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
Yeah, the Packers are a good team. luckily they had some injuries 'cause full strength they are very tough on D.
|
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
We all remember last year's disaster of an OL. In one offseason we upgraded our tackles. Maybe next season we'll upgrade the interior and then have a good OL.
Remember, Hicks was pretty much a career backup, but for us is a starter. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
Shanahan has always favored smaller more agile lineman. Dock is like a statue.
|
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
O-line: was doing terrible in the 1st half, but second half they did about as well as any other o-line has done vs. the Packers
D-line: I thought our D-line was getting some pressure, just because they weren't all sacks doesnt mean we didnt rush rodgers or make him move out of the pocket Pass Coverage: we're playing so soft so they score only 13 points, same reason we did well against Philly |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
Kareem Moore's open field tacking is very suspect. He totally whiffed on that 70 yard run by Jackson. Not good at all.
|

Maybe....they were lucky we had so many O injuries or it would have been a serious ASS-Whippin'? Portis, TW, Jamal Brown, etc |

That play was one of our most embarrassing moments this year. Rocky completely blew his gap responsibility. Oh my god he blew it bad. Then our secondary proceeded to basically escort him down the field for 50 yards. The RB wasn't even fast. Ughh |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
I'm worried that we won't be allowed 24hrs to enjoy this victory. LOL
24hrs passes I'm worried about our OFF tackles hopefully they be will healthy for the game against the horse shoe. |

Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
We let it slide last week, but this week no talking about the Colts until Wed.

Portis, TW, Jamal Brown, etc[/quote] I think their injuries were far more crucial to them than ours to us. |

We'll just relax in the after-glow of the win............ |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
The only thing I'm worried about right now is that the Giants are paying well.
|
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
I'll tell you guys what I'm worried about.
Where's the gold pants? I thought they were going to be a part of our home uni's this season? I was looking forward to seeing them return. Hopefully they return against the Colts. Everything else is gravy, imo. |

We used to do the same thing when I played. I like the yellow pants as well. You can really see the players in the passing game. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
I am still worried about giving up long runs up the gut of our defense. Weak!
Our nickle package is really weak against the run and pass. We have gotten better on the outside runs since Andre Carter was benched. I would really like to see Wilson at the left OLB position and move Lorenzo inside. Or switch Lorenzo and Rocky. Rocky played a few plays at OLB today and did a good job. NOt sure why we have a 260+ pound OLB in Lorenzo and a 235-pound ILB? Thats like having a huge tailback and a small fullback. Doesn't make sense Lucy! |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
I'm worried about Trent. He's scheduled for an MRI Monday and this is COlts week. I really couldn't stand it if I paid for tickets to see Heyer vs Freeney.
|
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
The defense again gave up more than 400 yards. Missed tackles or blown coverage, it didn't matter; Jim Haslett's crew is on pace to cede more land than France in 1803.
Washington Post, LMAO! |

no doubt. once clay matthews got dinged up thats when the game started going in our favor. that kid is a stud. we aren't winning pretty right now, but when have we ever in the past decade. i do really like the reputation that this team is gaining though. we are knockin out starters left and right week in and week out, thats somthing that other teams better worry about |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
Thank god we've got McNabb, JC would have been sacked 15 times yesterday and would have fumbled 5 times.
It's going to take some years to have a decent OLine. It takes some time. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
How McNabb didn't fumble on that blind side hit he took is simply amazing. The guy must have some strong hands.

I can almost see why Philly let him go. But it seems that with McNabb the big play is always there and he is a GREAT deep ball thrower. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
Without McNabb and Shanahan we're 0-5..............

You can see why he won so many games in Philadelphia. If the defense fights, claws, and keeps the game close while he struggles, you just know at some point he's going to make a couple of 40+ yard plays to throw his team back into it.
We didn't win that game because of McNabb, because he's a big reason we were down 10-0 and then 13-3 in the first place, but we absolutely need his skill set to get out of that hole. Of course, the problem with playing like that is that you subject yourself to the ridiculous replay-review system on the Armstrong touchdown, needing to have that catch in traffic to stay in the game. He held on, and we got it, but those catches can easily get taken away on a technicality in today's NFL. Then you lose. |

I would fumble 999 out of 1,000 times on that hit. |

I think there was some WP article that pretty broke down his offseason regiment. I think he can bench press 300 lbs or something. |
Re: Here's what I'm worried about...
For the life of me I don't know how he doesn't fumble that ball. Jason Campbell fumbles that if the defender sneezes on him.
