ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Wow. I thought Tebow and the injuries would give him one more year.

Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Every time San Diego blows out Denver, expect the Denver coach to be fired. :D
Should we pick him up? After all, he knows Tom Brady and isn't old!!!:D:D |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Look at the Bang Cartoon on the main page (Horse Apples) It sums it up in a nutshell.

Indeed. Al Davis deserves to laugh. He had a damn good draft this year and teh Raidahs are undefeated in their division for the moment. |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Any chance Bowlen and Shanahan are longing for the good ole days tonight.

Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
All I have to say is, he destroyed one of the greatest yet obscure offenses in the modern era.
Hate Jay Cutler all you want, but when he's on, he is really on. Undefeated when his QB rating is over 100. Brandon Marshall - tears are flowing from his eyes that Chad Henne is now his QB. Eddie Royal - Potential star reduced to being perceived as a role player Brandon Stokley - will soon be forgotten forever. Very few will remember P. Manning's accolades about him. Peyton Hillis: He is one of the two Razorback RBs who have proven themselves ELITE(other being McFadden. Felix Jones. haha, Shelix Jones. Choice is the choice for Dallasss) Ryan Clady - still going strong Kory Lichtensteiger - forced to embarass himself playing G when he is clearly not cut for the task. Tony Scheffler - reduced to sharing time with Brandon Pettigrew |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Maybe they'll move fast and go for Harbaugh.

Tubby is probably open to returning to Mile High. :D |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
I knew this was coming. He deserved it. Feel bad for the Denver fans but Bowlen should've never gave this guy the power that he did. Still shaking my head at drafting Tebow in the first round.

Total dumbass. |

Oh WOW! Maybe they want Shanny back?

Trade 'em Shanny for Champ Bailey and a second round pick. :) |
..........y now ,4 games left?
Y not? Are they going to make the playoffs? The race to lure the top remaining head coaches is on! McDaniels has to be one of the most abrasive coaches in the NFL. Whether he is or not, he comes off as a major douche bag. His offense is one of the most one sided pass happy offense I have ever seen. McDaniels has gone 5-17 in the last 22 games. McDaniels traded away Peyton Hillis to the Browns in exchange for backup quarterback Brady Quinn. Throw in the video tape of oppontents practice and Bowlen has seen enough. McDaniels has been a major embarrassment. |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
McDaniels ego is bigger then his brain and it prevented him from being a good HC/GM.
With that being said he knows the passing game and for that reason he'll find a job as an OC/QB coach/WRs coach and probably do a great job. |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Grimm would be a good choice for them, or Rob Ryan or John Fox. Maybe Cowher.

Kubiak back to Denver?

who the hell would do such a thing!!!***end sarcasm |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Bring him in as our TE coach to replace Embree. How ironic would that be? 2 ex Broncos coaches that were fired working together.

That only works if you are proven coach, even then you have to be smart enough to evaluate your players. I think this was long overdue. Bowlen gave Son of Hoody wayyyy too much power, and he basically took apart an offense that was pretty good and really didn't need much change. |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
No sympathy for the Denver organization....one stupid move after another by the owner, GM and coach

Trading for a washed up OJ Simpson. hahaha |

Vinny did it to us, stay tuned to see if the Redskins can be saved by Shanahan. |

Bill Walsh was a master GM along with being a master coach. Shanahan the GM pales in comparison to Walsh. |

I say with a little help from John McVay. |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
I say if the Broncos get rid of him, the Redskins should bring him in and coach him.

Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Peyton Hillis is the straw that broke the Camels back. Imagine what Denver would be if they would of kept everyone there. Thank goodness Pat Bowlen came to his senses. I wouldn't mind seeing McDaniel's here as an O-coordinator.
|
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
I don't understand, they take a great run based team and change it to a primarily passing team. Its like taking a great 4-3 team and changing to a 3-4 just to appease the coaches will. ;)

Why do you think he got rid of so many starters and role players on Denvers Offense in the first place? |

Nah, I think he just doesn't like inheritances and guys with a big attitude. However, Shanahan is a hard ass in his own right, yet Cutler and Marshall thrived under him. Besides, coaching a coach and having two young chefs in the kitchen. |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
I just don't see why he tried to come in there make so many changes on what appeared to be an offense that was going to be top notch for a long time. Total dumbass.
His problems weren't on offense. He came in with an overachieving offense and traded two guys who have gone to underachieve elsewhere for a king's ransom. Then he got top quartile production out of guys like Kyle Orton and Brandon Lloyd. The running game is coming along, and would be there for them if/when they get a healthy line.
The big problem there was historically bad defense which, you know, was the problem when McDaniels got there. Easy to say now that he should have never fired Mike Nolan, but I have to imagine that a huge internal conflict caused that departure because that defense was terrible before Nolan got there and was terrible after he left. Kind of funny that what ultimately got McDaniels canned also got Shanahan canned two years before that. |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
I heard he was too much of a dictator and didn't delegate and trust his guys enough. Not many guys last very long with that kind of style.
|
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
So I guess the word on the street is the next coach of the Broncos will be the current head coach at Air Force. That's a bit of a stunner
But I guess they have to go with someone fairly cheap what with them still paying Shanahan and McDaniels (unless they can get out of the McD contract) |
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
McDaniel's flirting with Matt Cassel was just the first domino in a series that led to Denver's downfall. It's funny how many of the head coaches who worked for Belicheat think that hoodie's arrogant prick act will work for them (McDaniel, Mangini, Weis). Respect is earned capital, and given McDaniel's mishandling Cutler, trading Hillis, etc., what little capital he had was completely exhausted.
|
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Suprised it took so long. I said he didn't seem to know what the "F" he was doing. Plus he had all that talent and kept cutting or trading or letting leave for lesser talent.
|
Re: ESPN -- Broncos FIRE Josh McDaniels
Surprising they didn't wait until the end of the season. Now they're paying TWO former coaches.
