Prediction????

WILL Portis Still Get 1500???

Daseal 12-07-2004 06:59 PM

I know he wants it and is going to be pleading for the ball. I sure hope so!

Duffman003 12-07-2004 07:36 PM

I think he can because he has the skills, and is going against marginal run defenses the rest of the year. But if Joe Gibbs gives up on the run after it doesn't work in the first quarter like against Philly, then it's not looking to good.

BrunellFan 12-07-2004 07:37 PM

If the trend of him having to get 100 yards for us to win continues- I sure hope so

Daseal 12-07-2004 07:40 PM

I think if Portis can't get a few homerun plays, like we know he can, he'll be fine.

Winskins 12-07-2004 07:59 PM

I think SF is going to be a huge game for him. Their defense is shot and their best LB and the only real bright spot on the team is on the IR.

I hope your right! I will be there.
But yea I think he can get 1500. With out a doubt.

d151b 12-07-2004 08:31 PM

he can get it easy

skinsguy 12-07-2004 09:07 PM

He has about 4 games left to get 1500 yards, I'm sure he can do it...

Even if he doesn't quite make it, I think he's done a pretty decent job this year.

CROOKEDSKINS 12-07-2004 09:42 PM

i think he will get it

Big C 12-07-2004 10:07 PM

really depends on the type of running plays they choose i think

cpayne5 12-07-2004 10:58 PM

I think that if Portis gets 125+ this week, he'll reach 1500 for sure. If he gets <100, I don't think he makes it unless he has a MONSTER game later on down the road.

GoSkins! 12-07-2004 11:01 PM

If he does, that means we win the rest of our games. Go Portis!

PSUskinsfan11 12-07-2004 11:02 PM

I guess 1350-1450 but he could for 200 vs. San Fran so I wouldn;t be suprised if he gets 1500, depends which OL shows up.

Redskins_P 12-07-2004 11:07 PM

I think it all comes down to how he plays this week......we need at least 150 from him to beat the Eagles.

SmootSmack 12-07-2004 11:08 PM

I think Portis will get 1500 and I think his big game could come against Minnesota. Skins will do whatever they can to keep the Vikings offense off the field, even with their stellar defense, and what better way to do that then feeding the ball to Portis

NY_Skinsfan 12-07-2004 11:40 PM

he needs to avg. 101.75 yards over the next four games to get to 1500. I think it is going to happen. if he can avg. 125 a game he will break his previous record of 1591. i can see that happening as well.

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 12-07-2004 11:49 PM

It all depends on whether we get out in front of the Vikes. I don't expect Portis to rush for more than 70 yards against the Iggles. He'll probably rack up 150 yards against the 49ers. He'll grab another 110 against the Cowboys. So, he'll need to get about 80 or so yards against the Vikes. If we keep the Vikes from getting out to an early lead (which our defense and the weather out to be able of doing), Portis will barely cross the 1500 yard mark.

I say Portis gets 1,510 yards.

aehs77 12-08-2004 12:22 AM

250 yards a game from here on out. 2000 baby

heybigstar 12-08-2004 08:49 AM

me too, theres really no difference in getting 1459 yards and 1502 yards except for the
media calling him "first player to rush for 1500 yards in his first 3 seasons"....

Which is also great to argue with Ravens fans about who has a better back... lol,

most important record im looking for is 8-8

diehardskin2982 12-08-2004 12:56 PM

Portis posts big numbers we win simple as that so if we can run the ball we'll be in the hunt. This will be a major game to determine the season and the character of our offense this week. after putting up 31 last week they'll hope to do the same here and keep philly's offense of the field. Running and clock management will be key to success

jdlea 12-08-2004 01:35 PM

I just wish they would stop wasting downs by putting in Ladell Betts.

skinsguy 12-08-2004 01:43 PM

Ladell has played pretty good in the last couple of games. I think he's developing into a good change of pace back to give Portis a breather. The way he played against the Giants and even the way he played against the Steelers, I would hardly call a waste of downs. In the past, when Gibbs was winning Super Bowls, he always had at least two running backs to help change the pace of the running game and to give the main back a break. I think it's worked rather nice for us.

MTK 12-08-2004 01:55 PM

Betts had 11 rushes for 64 yards last week. How is that a waste??

You've got to spell Portis sometime, and for the most part Betts has done a very solid job all year.

That Guy 12-08-2004 10:27 PM

portis could put up 200 on SF and the vikes, so it really depends on how those games go...

joehardee 12-09-2004 11:05 AM

no he wont get it

BrudLee 12-09-2004 11:14 AM
no he wont get it
Joe! You're here early! I didn't expect you until closer to Christmas.

Are we still your favorite Redskins board to troll on?

joehardee 12-09-2004 11:55 AM

Clinton Portis is a one of the best, i am thinking believe it or not close to 1600. If the run isnt forsaken like the first game
