Kemoeatu heads to IR
Redskins Insider - "Rough season" for Maake Kemoeatu ends on IR
Gotta wonder if he's one and done here |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
I sort of hope so. We need a better 3-4 NT
|
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
Daniels too...

Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
Yawn
|
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
I can't decide whether this is bad news, since we have no decent NT other than Kemo or whether it is irrelevant because Kemo's level of play has been so low that it doesn't matter who plays NT.
|
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
I think his injury normally could take this year to rehab into football shape. Not a big deal, I hope he comes back next year and smashes us some centers/guards.
PD i think is done, which is a shame cause he seems like a good guy/team player. |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
Thanks and good riddance to both!!

good riddance to PDaniels??? why so harsh. |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
If he can get back to 100%, Kemo is worth a look to bring back. Shame that we really didn't a chance to see what he was capable of this year, when fully healthy.

I think Anthony Bryant has played very well at the nose actually. |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
We really need a Jamal Williams

He has 2 be cut this year. We need 2 get some youth. He is a good guy but shit we always have good guys come through here and we dont get anywhere just like Zorn, maybe its time to stop being polite and start acting like we want to win and not let anything stand in our way. |

An example is Philly (god help me) Reid may let the guys go, but still is respectful towards the player. I just don't see Daniels as a guy that deserves a "good riddance". More like, so long and thanks for all the fish. |

Sorry if it sounds harsh but it's time to retire, isn't he 37 or will be? We need young players who don't get hurt all the time. |

Forget Jamal Williams what this team needs is another Antonio Garay. You ask yourself who is he? He is the FA NT that the SD Chargers signed this year and is probably one of the top 3 NT's in football right now. STUD. |

I agree & Daniels still played effectively this year IMO. His snaps have to be limited but he's still tough. 2 sacks & a blocked FG plus good run stopping. Stand up team guy. I can see him coming back to camp if healthy & from there I think it will depend on what kind of competition there is at DE. |

Still don't understand it, yes he is 37, yes he hopefully will retire, but as the quote shows, he's not a player who is hurt all the time. He ranks up there with Samuels, and Fletcher in my book as guys who were determined to make the Skins team the best they could possibly be regardless of the mayhem that surrounding our team Redskins injuries: Phillip Daniels headed for IR - @TBD Skins | TBD.com
This is his sixth season in Washington and entering this year, he had started 66 of the 69 games that he had played for the Redskins.
|

Agreed. You beat me to it, I was going to say the exact same thing. |

I agree as well.. Bryant is young, and he's looked strong in the time he's played. |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
^ Ok guys, I'll take another look at Bryant.

He's 29 years old. He's basically a tricky guy like Anthony Armstrong, making us think he's younger then he really is. |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
I hope hes back next year. It seems like he played all year with this injury and strugled coming back from his ACL, so hopefully he is given a shot next year to show how he does if hes fully healthy.
OR we could switch back to the 4-3 and not stress over filling the nose tackle |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
Shanahan is one of those guys who doesn't see the need to wait years just to hope his own pet will "develop". Kemo will likely say bye-bye to the Skins.
|
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
Philip Daniels is a CLASS ACT. If he retires, the Washington Redskins would do themselves a favor by hiring him to work with the team in some capacity - - particularly if they want to mentor young players in what it takes to be an NFL player.
No way would I say "Good riddance" to him. More like "Vaya con Dios..." |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
This sucks b/c I really hope we can stop the Giants RB's and play spoiler to keep them out of the playoffs.
If I were optimistic about the upcoming draft and players on the team I'd say this season couldn't end soon enough. |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
The whole damn Defense is on IR....WTF. Same shit different year.
Well of course for the rare exception of IRON MAN #59! |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
Funny how we always talk about the offensive line being neglected year after year.
The D-line has seen even less draft-related action. Before taking Brian Orakpo last year, there hasn't been a defensive linemen drafted by this team in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round since 1997 with Kenard Lang. It's been other teams' castoffs, free agents, or long shots taken in the 5th round or later that we've been relying on. More proof of the defensive implosion that was bound to happen sooner or later. |

You forget that Danny Boy went out and bought Dana Stubblefield and Big Daddy Wilkensen to play on the DL. And then he got Bruce Smith. And then he got Albert Haynesworth. With all that talent, who needs to draft defensive linemen? :frusty: |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
Anyone know of potential free agent Nose Tackles? God knows we'll have enough money to bring one in should they become available and even though I'm not to crazy about trying to fill every hole with free agents the fact remains that the Nose Tackle hole is a huge one and unless we can find a diamond in the rough there will be virtually no viable solutions come draft day. Unless of course you're simply looking for rotation players.

Doesn't look like a whole lot is there: '09 Team is second from right column. '10 Team is far right column. |
Re: Kemoeatu heads to IR
So, would Aubrayo be worth the money, or is he another big time bust waiting to happen?
