kevikazi on PS2. Haven't played a "ranked" game on-line yet though. I'm guessing everyone here plays with the Redskins when they play Madden....wouldn't that getting boring....constantly playing Redskins vs. Redskins?

I'm in a league for PC that I've been in for about 4 years now. I'm also willing to play with a team other than the Redskins.

I'm on PC w/ Madden 2k5 and a member of several leagues. If anyone has a cable connection you should buy madden 2k5 for PC and join the addictive fun that is PC madden leagues!
I bought PS2 madden and PC madden both for the 3rd year in a row. Both worth every penny!

I'm either dragontat or dragontat7169 (I can't remember...LOL) on ps2. I've only played 2 games online and lost both..I am horrible..but still willing to give someone an easy win..

Looks like we've got 7 gamers on each platform. I'm an Xboxer, so I'll go ahead and set up an Xbox league for 8 teams, and hope we get one more gamer to join us. I'd like to do a 24-round schedule-- that way, everybody plays each other 3 times, and there's no head-to-head ties. I was thinking of doing 3 day rounds. That would mean a 72-day season, I assume.

Xboxers, this is the invite list I have so far:

I need four more to form the 8-man league.

These are the parameters I have in mind right now:
*8 teams
*Unique teams (so everyone's not the Redskins)
*Ranked games
*Fairplay rules
*24-round regular season schedule
*3-day rounds
*4 playoff teams (Division winners, plus 2 league-wide wildcards)

I was thinking we could have a draft here to determine the team selection. Draft order would be determined by putting gamers' names in a hat and drawing them randomly.

Nice job setting this up Joe, looks like I'll take the reins for the PS2 league.

I've counted 5 people, 6 including myself for the PS2.

No tag since I havn't played online yet......I have it on both XBOX and PC but I would love to play it on PC with some of yall.....

Matty I just got my online adaptor yesterday. I'm hooking it up tonight after work. I'll let you know my gametag so that I can join the PS2 league. Looking forward to playing w/ everyone.

I'm organizing the XBox league, Matty's organizing the PS2 league, so I guess somebody needs to step up and organize the PC league, too. I don't play Madden for PC, so it's going to be up to one of the PC gamers to organize that league.

Like I said, if you get XBox live, we'd be happy to have you in the XBox league. You can get a 2 month free subscription card for XBox Live with a lot of the games that are in stores. That's what I'm using right now, though it's set to run out in January. I plan to go ahead and pay to renew, though. It'll be worth it just for the league.

Okay, you've twisted my arm. :)

Can you tell me a little about the physical side of it all.....

For example, I have a 2mb DSL line going from phone port - modem, which obviously gives me internet access.

How does XBOX Live work? What connection/s are used? When you're connected to XBOX Live does it act like broadband/cable where by you can use your phone at the same time etc.

XBox Live is pretty simple to setup and use. All you really need is a subscription card (you can get 'em at Best Buy, EB Games, etc., or you can get one of those free trial cards that come with games sometimes-- you should have received one in your Madden 2005 box), and an Ethernet line running from your modem or router to the XBox (XBox has the Ethernet port built-in). Then you just start up Madden, go to 'game modes', select 'play online', and the EA server will walk you through the setup process.

I'm pretty sure you can still use your phone when you're connected to XBox Live, though online gaming is a bit of a bandwidth hog.
