Rak needs to improve his technique so that he doesn't get held so much.

It looks like he is now motivated for this improvement, if he wasn't before. Tear 'em up, Rak!

He's not top 10, but maybe an honorable mention in there. He can make it though. 2011might be his year. That is if there is a year.

He's definitely not a top ten, but he has the talent to be. Guy seriously needs to work on more moves to get to the QB. They aren't going to call that hold so he needs to just get off of it and figure out another way.

That list reflects rep & sack totals, of which Rak is solid in both but not high enough to get top 10 votes yet. Rak is arguably our best player, and as B. Mitch said, he's not happy just playing in the nfl, he wants to be the best & win. Look for big things from #98!

Once we get him some help on the other side I think he'll really break out. We haven't seen his best ball yet.

Once he can shed the holds better he'll be nearly unstoppable. Mann needs to reach out to him personally and not just through some interview that will likely never reach the right avenues for Rak/others to hear.

That's what I was thinking tryful. If he can find a way to break through those holds then he'll be a freaking terror. He's right there alot of times but those obvious holds that go unflagged takes that second that he needed away.

He'll be good though

Yeah Long getting a vote there is puzzling considering he has 18 sacks in 3 seasons, while Rak has 19.5 in 2 seasons.

I'm glad he's pissed cuz now he can use that as motivation for next year. I wasn't that suprised to see him left off the list, he had a strong first half last year but really fell off in the second half. He just has to learn how to shed holds better, because he gets held a lot and we can't just rely on the officials to call it. I think if we can get a guy opposite him he'll break out in a major way this year.

Get em RAK! If we had a multi-million dollar DT/NT that was worth a crap, then I'm sure his stats would have improved last year. I'm looking forward to this year, if it happens.

Maybe, but thats not saying much. If Rak keeps on, he will be among the best in time. He has both the right attitude and the skills. HTTR!

I know it's a moot point, but if Rak is at a true RDE he's easily top 10. He plays better with his hand in the dirt. He's still learning to be an OLB, and as Matty mentioned he could use some help....somewhere, anywhere, up front or on the other side.

Don't worry all. After we draft someone to rush opposite him in the draft he will be ripping people a new one next year (or the year after next, provided someone can get their heads out their @$$es) and he will make the list then!

From my standpoint you don't cry and moan when you're left off an offseason "top 10 list". I don't remember Dexter Manley "tweeting". You lay it out on the field and act like a Man. If he was truly monstrous on the field, he would have been on that list.

He's good, he just doesn't have the help yet and is playing OLB & learning the position. He'll be on that list in time.

If he's pissed at anyone it should be Hayensworth,now if he shuts up and plays a game like he should Orakpo would be fine.

It seems to me that orakpo had a much better season last year than he did his rookie year. Many of his rookie sacks seemed lucky to me. Last season it seemed to me that he got held on just about every time he rushed the passer. Obviously I don't watch these other pass rushers as in depth as I do Orakpo. I do no know if the same happens to them or not.

Orakpo doesn't seem to have whatever is needed to get out of these holds. I don't know if the ability go get around these holds is natural (agility/ fluidity/ natural escapability reasons) or something that is developed (technique, learning nuances to the game). If it is the ladder then there is no doubt in my mind that Orakpo will one day be a consensus top 10 rusher.

Orakpo is my favorite Redskin because he is a warrior at heart. I love guys with a motor and guys that get motivated by not being recognized as top dog, guys that know they are the best and nobody can stop them. I love guys even more that try to prove everyone wrong through both training their heart out and (more importantly) trying to soak in as much knowledge as possible.

Maybe not a good example as Dexter was always good for a controversial quote or two in the papers.

Bottome line is Rak gets held, just like all the top pass rushers do. Not much he can do about it. Often that's the only thing a lineman can do when he gets beat on the edge and the refs just don't call it enough.

With how good and hard Rak plays on a team that's been plagued with half asses efforts in the past ten years, he can get that list tattooed on a baby and eat the little guy on the 50 yard line and I still wouldn't be offended.
