The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
Well its started today and I have to say I'll waist most of this weekend watching. My pick is Phill M. which up until last week I would not have given him a chance. He did the same thing last year playing bad up until the master so I hope he did not peak one week too soon. It will also be interesting to see what Tiger does. I like having him playing well to add to the drama but I'm picking him to not even make the cut.

Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
Im hoping Tiger plays well. To see him near the top the leaderboard going into Sunday would be great TV. Got the leaderboard up at work...

Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
FD you botched the thread title!
A tradition unlike any other. |
Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
Despite the botched thread title I love this tournament. I have the live feed from ESPN.com up on my 2nd monitor at the office. Loving it.
The weather is supposed to be tremendous all week. I'll bet the winner comes in at 12 or 13 under. |

A tradition unlike any other.
Hey, he spelled everything correctly...how much do you expect from the guy? Even if FD wrote "The Masters: Hot to your door in 30 minutes or less" and still spelled everything correctly, it's a huge success for him. ;) ANYWAYS... I'm putting my money on someone I've never heard of before. There are a lot of young golfers with some major talent and I think one of them will beat out the usual cast of big names. I just don't know who it is yet. Maybe someone like Rory McIlroy, David Chung, Gary Woodland or Brandt Snedeker. I just upgraded to a HD receiver and service from Dish...had standard def before, so I'm interested on seeing how awesome golf looks now. |
Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
I KNEW KNEW KNEW before even opening the thread FD had started this. Thread title fail. I love it.

Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
seriously how do folks watch golf on TV or in generally, Zzzzzzzz...
I guess if you play it there is more of a thrill. |

A tradition unlike any other.
Same thing. I knew it was off just too lazy to look it up. I also figured it would give you guys something to talk about. |
Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
Tiger's back 9 yesteday was a mutherf*cker...cant wait to see how he plays today

LOL. Yup. I figured it was either FD or a quote making fun of some broadcaster who botched the phrase. Too funny. But yeah, it's shaped up to be a great weekend in Augusta. The McIlroy/Fowler/Day trio yesterday was really impressive, and they're all so young. |
Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
Fowler looks about 13 years old.

Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
How do you spell choke? M-C-I-L-R-O-Y!
Tiger had an awesome tournament. I hope that he continues to play like this. Last year was just brutal. |

He's just young. When his mental fortitude catches up with his physical tools, he's gonna be the best player in the world. |
Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
I am more fond of Ricky Fowler.

Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
Screw Tiger, glad he lost.He had it all and he blew it.Everyone desrves a second chance and I'd pull for him if he wasnt such a complete dick and titty baby. His behavior on the links sometimes has got to be the worst in the game.

Hate much? What does he do to you personally to warrant so much distaste? |
I almost called it. :Flush: Never heard of the winner before yesterday though! That was probably the best round of golf I've ever watched, at least since the Tiger - Rocco playoff at the 2008 US Open...but this one involved about 10 guys coming down to the end...was crazy. I thought McIlroy had it locked up with a 4-stroke lead going into the last round. Poor guy. He's only 21 though, he'll have plenty of wins...unless this sends him into a mental hospital. |

The person is just trying to do their job and TW acts like a prick. The announcer will make one of those questions/statements and TW will reply with something like this. "Are you kidding me did you see my round". |

Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
I was pulling for Tiger to win, everybody needs a little redemption. I have never been much of a Tiger fan, I perfer Lefty but I want Tiger to win again, golf is a better sport when Tiger is playing well IMO.

Re: The Masters "A Tradition Like None Other"
It was nice to see Tiger get his groove back, but watching Rory McIlroy just completely implode on the back 9 was hurtful. He's got the tools, just needs the mental game. That tee shot on 10 looked like something I'd do (between 2 houses way left, although I would have been that way right). He'll be back. Very eerie that he shot 80 on Day 2 of the Open Championship and 80 on Sunday at Augusta.
While it was nice to get Tiger stay in the hunt, it was also nice to watch those 5-8 golfers play the way they did down the stretch, and have Schwartzel just light up the course and shoot 66 on the final day when it was all on the line. |

She picked her caddy number, right?

Tom Watson peeing in the bushes during Wednesday's practice round.
My boss knew someone whos family was one of the people who had "season tickets" to the Masters or whatever you call them. They donate them to a charity fund rasing event one year.... The people who won the tickets get drunk (and who wouldnt with those beer prices!) and take a piss in the bushes and get caught. HUGE deal at Augusta. The people who pissed are permanently banned from ever returning. The people who donated their tickets nearly got banned. I sign up for practice round tickets every year. Just the way they do things are old school. There practice round ticket list could easily be automated on line but you have to mail it in and fill out the form each year (its easier the second time around). But either way you know they are employing a lot of people and people are spending a lot of time going through the submissions each year. Theres a box on top of the list that says how many tickets do you want (i think the max is 4). Every year im like i should just put 3 so maybe i get a left over batch of tickets. But i always go for 4 and i have never won the tickets. |
