Really? This Redskins team last season had the worst defense for the B&G in around 50 years. Doubtful that Nnamdi vaults us to the tops in the division.

If I was Nnamdi, my top five would be:

1. Green Bay
2. New York Jets
3. Baltimore Ravens
4. Tampa Bay Bucs
5. Washington Redskins/Houston Texans/Dallas Cowboys

In that order. But realistically, the top three teams I would WANT to go to if I was Nnamdi may not be able to make offers competitive with teams like the Bucs, Texans, and Redskins.

the more I think of NA at CB I realize he is 30 and by the time this team gets good he will be well on the decline. Rather spend the money on multiply players.

re: Kalil, really good player. But even ignoring the draft pick compensation, trading for players on the franchise tender create an obvious overpaying situation. They are already guaranteed 8 figures for this year. So their signing bonus for a long term deal has to, as a rule of thumb, double what they are going to be making this year anyway.

$20 million dollars up front for a center plus competitive salaries is a lot to spend on a player who isn't 23 years old and cannot singlehandedly change the direction of the offense. He would fill a gaping hole here. But if the Redskins were really serious about replacing Rabach, options to do so are readily available.

sidney rice, in my eyes, would be a better signing than holmes. younger, better hands, and he has a great ypc average. id love to pair him up with moss and hankerson. plus, on the whole, he will prolly command a couple million less per year than holmes.

Sydney Rice...I think they need lineman more but Rice is the best young player who is available for no compensation. Signing him is almost like buying an extra draft pick.

honestly i want no one, i just want this team to come out and see where they are with the guys they have. we already made a solid move and got a proven safety, we had what seemed to be a solid draft, and let's face it the chances of us going to the playoffs is slim to none. let's evaulate the talent on hand and go from there, i wanna build a team this go round not try and buy one.

I'm loving this Yanda kid, which means I'm going to be disappointed on Friday or two or three years from now when he manages to go from being the teams most steady lineman to it's biggest liability like a certain former Raven that went across the way to DC.

I kind of agree. I think a couple moves and we'll be fine. I mean what's the point of drafting all these guys if we're just gonna go out and build up our starting group through free agency anyways? If we went out in free agency, resigned Santana Moss, Rogers, and Brown, signed a guard to plug in at RG, and signed a combo of Cullen Jenkins and a nose tackle, or even just a nose tackle, I'd be content. What about Jarvis Jenkins? I feel like a 2nd round pick should be a quality starter, and plenty 2nd rounders have come in in their first years and contributed plenty. But do we need to go out and get like 5-8 starters in free agency, not counting resigning our own guys? No.

As a free agent, he is not on the Skins' roster or anyone else's...

The Skins will surely need a veteran presence as a backup to John Beck lest he get injured during the 16-game season. Since Donovan McNabb is clearly not up to the job, who is going to fill that role if not Rex? Patrick Ramsey?

Well a) Rex is coming back and b) I'm sure most realized that for all intents and purposes Rex would be considered a returning Redskin and c) technically he wasn't officially a free agent when this thread began
