Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Don't have specifics yet
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Per Schefter, Jarmon to Broncos for Jabar Gaffney
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
this day just keeps getting better, lol
GAFFNEY???? |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
There you go. Was hearing there might be more to it.
Not sure I understand this. If anything I would have thought we'd make a run at Eddie Royal from Denver |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
What? Another WR?
I was optimistic about the rookie WRs but they may never get a chance. I hope Hankerson is part of the plan, a big part. Lets just trade/cut Malcolm Kelly now. Too many guys with the potential to make the team. I know we always bring a ton of WRs into camp, but we're bringing a lot of QUALITY WRs in and can't keep them all...or guys like Austin, Banks and Paul will have to be cut. Edwards deal still not dead yet either. Shame, I liked Jarmon. Moss Armstrong Hankerson Gaffney Stallworth - CUT? T. Austin B. Banks - CUT or PS? N. Paul - PS? M. Kelly - CUT! Aldrick Robinson - CUT, PS? Roydell Williams - CUT Taurus Johnson - CUT Maurice Price - CUT And maybe Braylon Edwards? |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
It did not appear Jarmon was going to have a legit shot to make the team, so under those circumstances, I like the deal. Jabar Gaffney isn't exactly a return, though. We're collecting receivers the way Jon Gruden collects quarterbacks.
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
The Redskins offically have a hard on for wr's.
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
...anybody else around here want to slot Banks into a roster spot?....lol
Guy is good as gone. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
i liked jarmon, gaffney is comparable to half the free agent receivers out there we could just sign. wouldn't have traded a potential piece in our D for someone who'll be gone next year.
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Gaffney? The washed up, never was WR who teamed with Taylor "Mr. Softie" Jacobs at Florida? Wow.
I also liked Jarmon and was hoping he would find a spot. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Yeah! Reunite with Orton now
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
I like it

Gaffney is solid but I just don't understand why they like wr's so damn much. I'm amazed. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
WTF? Gaffney? Sh*t, trade for a lineman or picks at the least. Maybe I need to raise money to put a screen in front of Redskins park and show in a loop our offensive line getting blasted by every NFC East d-line.
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
are the skins going for a world record or something?
The team to have the most average WR's on it at one time. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Rediculous...Gaffney is so ordinary. Would rather have had a 7th round pick...
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Another wasted pick by Vinny
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
I just want to know how many receivers they're planning on keeping, considering they haven't yet closed the book on Edwards or Rice yet. If it's six, we're already cutting players we've acquired today. If it's five, oh boy.
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
We gotta be thinking 6 Tripp
|

Guy is good as gone.
Yeah I'd love to see Banks make the team, but it looks like he's going to have to do more than just punt returns if he wants a shot. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
I get the feeling at least a couple of WR will be cut this weekend, just my feeling. Banks and Kelly probably should be the most concerned, but perhaps even Robinson and Paul.
I realize there isn't much sympathy for NFL players but this to me is representative of the realities of playing in the league. Jarmon has done everything asked of him-lose weight to play LB, gain weight to play on the line, lose weight again, learn this position, learn that position, all while rehabbing from a major injury...only to be sent packing just weeks away from the start of the season. And if he had kids in school, the start of the school year. I wish Jarmon well I like the Donte move, I don't understand this one |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Can't wait to see our 6 WR formation with Moss, Hankerson, AA, Hankerson, Stallworth, and Gaffney or Kelly. Followed by the inevitable sack/fumble.
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
He's a better WR than some of you give him credit for...a great player as our 4th WR, which he seems to be at this point, behind Moss, Armstrong, Hankerson.
If we get Edwards, our depth chart will be messy...who to keep? Some good young WRs will be sacrificed: Banks, Austin, Paul. I really do not see Stallworth making the team now. It was iffy before but unless he explodes in the preseason...no chance. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
He knows the system. If Jarmon wasn't going to make the team hey why not?
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
WTF meter activated.
Although my WTF meter has been going off quite a bit this year so I'm not so sure. Maybe it needs a calibration |

I was thinking the same thing. Cant hurt |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
We better not sign Braylon. Overpaying for some bum who can't catch is not going to help us.

Although my WTF meter has been going off quite a bit this year so I'm not so sure. Maybe it needs a calibration
I wonder if Tampa fans thought the same thing. Allen completely remodeled their roster too, but it worked. I guess we should trust him. (and Shanahan) It's not like a completely football-illiterate buffoon like Vinny is making these moves, they are proven winners. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Dumb asses. For real.

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
I think we can finally put to rest the silly "same old front office" notions.

Our offense next season...

Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
interesting. Were trying to have a solid core all around no slouches but no stand outs
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
You could build an entire NFL team with the draft picks the Washington Redskins have thrown away over the last seven or eight years.
It's a remarkable record of futility. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
You have to keep in mind that there won't be any cost to release Jabar Gaffney. He's not guaranteed a spot on the team. He might even eventually get released so that we can add Rice or Edwards.
Which is just why this return is so perplexing to begin with. If Gaffney makes the team, then theres no spot for Stallworth. Who was acquired today. So on some level, we've been silly today. In defense of the FO: hasn't everyone. |
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
well, here we go, another veteran on the wrong side of 30..............
|
Re: Redskins Trade Jeremy Jarmon
Clearly, they were unhappy with the production from the spot last year. But, I'm with GTripp - how many you keeping and who the hell are you cutting. Are they hoping to stash a couple of the rookies on the PS?
I count 10 "roster worthy" WR's before signing Edwards. Seems to me, Stallworth, Gaffney, Kelly and Banks are not likely to make it out of the pre-season. Moss Stallworth (FA) Gaffney (FA) M. Kelly A. Anderson Banks (2) Austin (2) Hankerson (R) Paul (R) Robinson (R) |

i hope youre being sarcastic. all the moves we've made are very vinny-esque to me. and Jarmon >> Gaffney. I hope it wasnt a straightup trade but we get some sort of conditional pick out of it. otherwise, we got majorly screwed. |
