Training camp 2011 thread
It's all happening at once...including camp.
|
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
A thousand times more important and relevant than this, is that Hankerson is signed and will be able to participate in camp tomorrow (technically today). Hopefully Kerrigan's deal will get done soon.

Look who's coming for dinner: Haynesworth to report tomorrow - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
Is he serious about playing or is this just the beginning of another roller coaster ride? |

Sports
 Do we have to open the Training Camp thread by starting it with a Haynesworth article right off the bat? How about this. I have my doubts that this will pan out, but how about we keep this thread on the Redskins players that will actually contribute to this team this season. We could talk about the impending qb battle, or which of the bajillion wideouts on our roster will make the final cut. We could also talk about new free agent additions that will make an impact this season, or talk about why our secondary looks to be a team strength this season, or even talk about how cool it is to have an Aussie on the roster. Anything but Haynesworth. Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaase. |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Look who got invited to a sleepover and won't be here for dinner

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Training camp starts today!!!!

I really was trying to talk about camp but unintentionally picked a poor segue. Let's talk about training camp! |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
:) If I had waited approximately 9 1/2 hours since I posted that, it would no longer be necessary to talk about Haynesworth in this thread, since he just got traded to the Pats. I feel like a heavy weight has been lifted off our shoulders. Onward and upward!

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
So are they actually practicing today or is it just gonna be meetings and all that worthless crap that nobody cares about?
|
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Actual practice starts tomorrow.
|
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
My gut says they should work AH a$$ off but I know that not very smart.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
No FD did. I think he was too busy cleaning up pee.
|
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I thought he was reporting even though he was probably going to be traded. I looked again and saw the date on the link.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Bumping this a bit, a couple of Twitter bits
Grant Paulsen Perry Riley was working at ILB with first team. LBs coach Lou Spanos said that there will be an open competition at the jack backer spot. Ryan O'Halloran First OL group had Montgomery at center, Hicks RG, Oldenburg RT. Rich Campbell LaRon Landry was limited this morning. He spoke to reporters while I was talking to Kyle. |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
So...what's this about Sellers being moved to TE? Sellers and Paulsen as the blocking TEs now?
|

Haven't heard this much on Twitter...I guess this is a way to keep him longer in the team? |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Chris Russell reporting a few things on 980am from this morning's practice:
RB Roy Helu looked comfortable and really explosive, and is wearing #26 by the way. NT Anthony Bryant looked out of shape and had to leave practice early with heat related issues. LB coach Lou Spanos was all over Ryan Kerrigan, apparently dropping f-bombs left and right. The plan is to start Chris Chester at RG. Will Montgomery took snaps at C with the first team offense. Practice started at 8:30 and wrapped up at 10:45. |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Chris Russell also saying that he doesnt have a good feeling that Jamaal Brown will be back with the team. Huh.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
OJ Otogwe apparently looked good and will wear #20 instead of #21 out of respect for Sean.

Fine, get Ryan Harris or see who else is released, although most teams wont be letting top tackles go. |

It's just a shame since we gave up multiple draft picks for him for what looks like nothing more than one injury riddled and inconsistent season. |

yeah, i guess thats the known gamble we took and what allowed us to get him for less than he would demand had he been healthy with the saints . . . gaither is also heavily rumored to be a ravens cut, all though i wouldnt sign him, hes injury prone and is rumored to have zero interest in football. is camp open to public? will they make one day a fan day? |

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I'm just psyched. As of today, we finally have ON-THE-FIELD, tangible football stuff to talk about.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Theres still good tackles out there:
Jared Gaither 25 83 Baltimore Sean Locklear 30 83 Seattle Matt Light 33 82 New England Ryan Harris 26 82 Denver Mario Henderson 27 81 Oakland Charlie Johnson 27 79 Indianapolis Jammal Brown 30 79 Washington Stephon Heyer 27 78 Washington |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I've never been to camp is it worth a 4 hour drive? Does it last all day and you bring a cooler/pack lunch?

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Apparently Torain and Helu alternated snaps with the first team.
|
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Kerrigan will wear 53 since Carriker wears his college number 94

Gaither is likely signing with the Raiders, they're negotiating now. |
I've never been to camp is it worth a 4 hour drive? Does it last all day and you bring a cooler/pack lunch?
Normally only the AM session is open. No real need to bring a cooler, just bottle of water or so. I've made the trip the last couple of years, but not sure about this year.

What about all the other Rookies? Royster, Robinson, Paul, etc.? |

No idea. I'm at the gym and posting updates from my iPhone as I get info from 980am which is live at Redskins Park. |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I just saw a pic that Royster's wearing 25, which is Barnes number. Did Barnes change his number?

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Man, can these f*ckers at ESPN980 stop talking about Haynesworth? Sheesh, they spent the whole f*cking day yesterday talking about him. I turn on the radio and that's the first thing I hear. I swear, sports radio in this area sucks! Ugh.

I disagree. I think the bulk of the 980 crew are very good. Also, I've been listening to 980 for the past 90 minutes while in the gym, and they've spent less than 10 total minutes on AH. |
