Better than some were saying, sounds good
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
guess I am glad he's gone. It's a 2013 5th rounder though
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Awesome. And everyone said we couldn't get anything for him! Is he paying back any of his bonus money, I wonder?
|
Thank goodness this is over, now we can stop the circus and hearing people b*tch about him.
I think Darth Hoody is running more of a 4-3 defense. But who the hell cares, time to move on. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Traded out of the conference, which is what we wanted to do if he wasn't going to actually play for us.
We have no distractions left now...I hope |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
So we get to host Haynesworth and McNabb in December
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Thank god, so glad this bum is outta here.
Can't wait to see him implode in NE. They run a 3-4 right? lol I can see things going smoothly for a little while, but it won't be long before he sticks his thumb in his mouth and acts like the big baby that he is. He won't be there for more than 2 years. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
you guys know we play the pats this year might not work like you want it to

let's see 1 game where we might have to deal with a mad Haynesworth, or 1 season where the media and team (and us) deal with Haynesworth's distractions. Hmmm. Tough choice, maybe we should do a poll... |

Who cares, New England is talented enough to beat us with or without AH. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Glad it's over. I think he'll be good, but not great in NE.

That's just a flat out awesome post. I was thinking something similar...mine was: With John Beck at QB, it won't much matter who plays on their defensive line, we're going to have a really tough time regardless |

That's why we signed Clemmons - to be AH's punching bag for the one game this year he'll play hard in. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Wow didnt see that one coming, guess i still had hopes that he would redeem himself and play lights out, wishful thinking.
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Glad he is gone and that he did not end up going to the eagles. I hope he implodes (but) he will probably end up being pretty good for them.
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Well, I think its good we were able to dump both McNabb and Haynesworth before camp even started. No distraction there, which is great.
I think he'll end up kicking ass in New England, because he's still a good player, he just didn't want to try. It is what it is, we had to get rid of him and move on. Even if he ends up being great there, I hope we remember what a disaster and distraction he was here... even if I think Shannahan shares some of the blame for some of last seasons issues. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Honestly I wouldn't have made this move. I'd have sat him on the bench and carried his $5.4 million number until he came around.
He'll dominate next to Wilfork. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I am relieved that Shanny and Allen got this done before AH reported.
I'm fine with a 5th round pick in 2013. Any draft pick is important for building and maintaining a team. Freeing up the cap room is also important. I'm hoping that a Cullen Jenkins signing comes next. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I''m glad it's over. Now the focus will be on the rebuild. I am also happy that he is in another 3-4, the prick!
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Kraft for peace in more ways than one. To the NFL and to the Redskins organization.
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I wish we could have worked it out with AH, I think he could still be one of the most dominant Dlineman in the league. But if this had to happen, I couldn't be more freaking happy about how it worked out. One, he was traded to a team that runs a 3-4 primarily, which freaking cracks me up. two, I hate Bill B, but it will be interesting to see how AH and he work together. Plus, with Tom Brady being such a vocal leader of that team and all the guys that are such a close nit group (instead of our disfunctional group) , like to see how they take to him.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Pats just got a steal, they will play him at RDE & he'll give them what Seymour did for several years. I'm not saying it was a bad move by Allen et al, had to get rid of him & the price to trade him out of conference wasn't going to be high. If he plays well, it will be another example of the pats getting a lot out of another disgruntled vet.

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
good freakin riddance. don't let the door hit you on the out painsworth
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
i always trade him in madden anyway
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I think the Pats got a good defensive lineman, hardly a steal though. I just don't think Haynesworth will ever live up to his potential at this point in his career.
Just reported that Haynesworth jersey's are on sale for $9.99. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
This is awesome news. Now the national media can take all the negative comment out there mouth about us. We won't have to hear everybody talk about we need to cut Haynesworth and or McNabb. I am sick and tired of hearing "Shanny is stupid for keeping Haynesworth" he is disruptive to the team. Really these are grown man and if they can focus on there game with a few distractions don’t need to be on the team. I think people need to shut up they paid for Al so they have the right to hold on to him and try to get something for him regardless of what people say. Really Bruce and Shanny has a plan and we need to let them work things out and then after 3 years we can judge. It didn't take a year or two to make this mess and it not going to take that amount of time to fix it. We are I think building a good fountain for the future. We are acquiring picks and role players for our base. Yeah we have needs but I am confident they will be filled.
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Wow but don't they play a 3-4
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Lesser of two evils. We play them this year. New England is in win now mode.

A well organized, well coached winning team can do wonders sometimes for disenchanted players. It will only take a minute for AH to realize he won't become a distraction in NE the way he did here. + He won't be asked to play the NT position, they have one of the best in the business already. |

Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
Yes NE runs a 3-4, however he'll probably be one of a couple of things:
-playing only on passing downs -playing DE in the 3-4, not NT -traded to philly shortly |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
The comments here are hilarious. The Pats got a steal, Haynesworth will dominate in New England.
We just don't know that. The game is played on the field. We're basing so much of how we feel about Hayneworth on what he did three freaking years ago. Save three or four memorable plays as a Redskin, he was nothing more than a space eater...and a bench rider. I'm sorry, but Haynesworth is three years removed from being a truly dominant DT. And to think he'll just parachute into New England and Belichick will sprinkle pixie dust on Fat Al and he'll morph into Reggie White is just a stretch. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I am afraid that this will wake up the beast in him, but he is out of our locker room.
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
If $100 million can't wake up the beast in him, I don't see how being on probation in New England motivates him. A place where he'll have to keep his ego in check and work hard everyday.
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
i'm happy with a 5th, AH was terrible for us in every way :/
|
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
With McNabb and Albert being traded away, hopefully this will be the end of extremely poor mismanagement by the FO and coaching staff in regards to personel. Our personel management has been a joke for 10 years and Im personally sick of being the laughing stock of the league when it comes player moves. Time to move forward

Yeah I don't see it working out in the long run either. Nobody can change the fact the guy is a bum. He'll show his true colors soon enough. |
Re: Haynesworth to the Patriots for a 5th rounder.
I'm just going to be so pissed if we hear about how he's REALLY going to get up for the Skins game this year. I just can't understand him feeling so disrespected that he wants to "stick it to us" for giving him tons of cash for nothing.

He'll dominate next to Wilfork.[/quote]Agree. This was an obvious Patriots rip-off. While there is obvious hidden value in keeping him out of the division, the belief in such value is an admission that the player in question makes any defensive front better. It was kind of like the Favre saga of 2008: the Packers eventually did get value on him, but if they really believed in Aaron Rodgers, they should have just released Favre and let him go to Minnesota. Problem was: they didn't really believe in Aaron Rodgers, they just believed Favre was done or near done. If the Redskins really believed they were right that Haynesworth creates more problems for a defensive scheme than he solves, they should have released him and let Philadelphia take him. But obviously, they did not believe that. And this was a sell low job with that contract. |
