Randy Moss to Retire
Schefter just reported this on Twitter:
"Adam Schefter Filed to ESPN: Future Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Randy Moss has decided to retire rather than continue playing, agent Joel Segal said." |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
Translation = No one wants him.

That typically happens when people retire. Anyway, here are his numbers: 13 seasons, 954 catches, 14,858 yards & 153 TD |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
Interesting tidbit by Rich Eisen:
"Rich Eisen Randy Moss decides to retire, which means if - a BIG if - everybody stays put, Moss and Favre could go in the Hall together." |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
This asshat doesn't even deserve his own thread. Boo hoo, nobody wanted to deal with the douchebag diva anymore. I'm SOOOOO ****ing glad that assclown never won a championship.
|
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
So close to 1,000 catches and 15,000 yards. Say what you want about his ugly antics, he could play football.
|
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
I don't think this will last. He'll play again in the NFL at some point. He's just mad he hasn't gotten a nice offer yet.
Wasn't there some story recently about how he was in the best shape of his career or something? |

Agreed. Although if he had tried to play in Oakland, maybe he could have gotten there. |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
He wants to only play for a contender that has a great QB. Those kind of teams do not want him and his BS.
|
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
Middle of the year, some team is going to need a receiver and will pick up Randy. Can't take away the fact that the guy could play with the best of them

Mature. I agree he's not much of a person but he IS one of the most talented players we've seen recently. His numbers should get him into the HOF and that really does make him worthy of the mention. Michael Irvin is proof that you don't have to be a decent person to become a HOFer. |

The Jets were rumored to give him a look but once they signed Buress...no way they're taking on Moss too. |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
By mid-season Carson Palmer and Randy Moss will be coaxed out of retirement by Snyder...kidding, only kidding
Incredible career. I'm sure what frustrates many about him is that it could have/should have been so much better than it was if he put in some more effort. Plus the fact he was repeatedly candid about not putting in total effort all the time. |

Oh and I forgot to mention James Harrison. LOL. |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
Man, I guess it is impossible for people NOT to bash on some people at all.. Randy Moss may be an asshole sometimes, but that is not the reason why we learned anything about him. We knew him only because he played NFL, and that should be the way he is remembered. Ever since I fell in love with football, Moss was one of my favorite players. He made countless highlights with his catches. I definitely will miss watching him playing.
I wish him the best in life after NFL career. |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
The 1976 Oakland Raiders. :D

Re: Randy Moss to Retire
On the field the guy was a treat to watch. I don't know him personally so I can't judge him personally. Kids across the nation will continue to be "Mossed" :) first ballot HOFer right here.
On a side note the guy is still a pro-bowl caliber receiver (if motivated). He's still in great shape and can start for any team right now. I don't think he's done yet, but who knows. |

Re: Randy Moss to Retire
Randy Moss was a baller from the moment he stepped on an NFL field up until this past season. I definitely don't have the hate for him that some here do. He is similar to Albert Haynesworth in that when he's properly motivated, he's one of the best in the game. It's obvious that will rub some of us the wrong way, but oh well. That's the nature of admitting you only play hard when you want to. That might one of the reasons he won't get into the HOF at first, because his detractors will have a big argument that he didn't play 100% all the time. That's an argument for another day though. His beastly moments easily outranked the times where he didn't play hard, Oakland for instance.
lol, was just about to post that
classic
The delievery of Randy trying to be the biggest d*ck makes it a classic. I believe this was a fine to the league he was referring too. I love the fact he is too rich to write a check...if i remember right he goes on to say the fine, 10k fine, is nothing to him...lol. Id like to see him walking into the league offices with straight cash homie and just tossin that sh*t on the ground |

But I don't think I'd want a teammate who slashes another teammate's throat. On Moss, shame he didn't have a good work ethic, he would've been even better and might've put up 200 TDs. Likely first ballot HoF and arguably the most dominant WR of his era....and I do agree he could be a real a-hole. |

Thats funny I was just waiting to hear that the Eagles signed him

Perhaps Top 5 ??? |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
I guess what I am tired of hearing people say is what he could have done if he was not such a selfish sh-t. Its all bout the money now not the respect for the game or just having the gift to play it. If TO and Moss could have shut their mouth and just played ball the way we know they can, they would have been two of the best WR's ever to play the game , but their attitudes and BS clouded their ability to play ball and become respected, tired of hating the person, but loving watching them play. See Jerry Rice.

He seems, at least these days, like a genuinely nice guy. Maybe he was a little different when he was partying hard and snorting lines of white powder but I never felt like he was a bad guy, like Pacman or any other trouble maker you might want to name. |
Re: Randy Moss to Retire
Moss has played 13 seasons? Man I feel old!!!!!!! He personifies the "it's all about the benjamins" attitude that pervades pro sports. I think after Tom and Peyton retire or just fade away football is really going to suck like today's music does. Nobody cares about winning titles, just easy paychecks.

You're right. Because Roethlisberger, Brees, and Rodgers aren't winners at all. And I'm sure Sam Bradford has no desire to win anything, nor does Matt Ryan, Matthew Stafford, or Josh Freeman. What a buncha losers. |
