Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
Would we be doing this if we were 22nd?
I still remember coach approval polls from Zorn's first 8 games (think it was via SportsNation) at 6-2 he was the next great thing (I bought into it too) |

When you are ranked low, they don't matter. :) And that Zorn koolaid (which I also drank) was like kid's cough medicine: sweet at first but a terrible aftertaste. |

Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
We look good simply due to the failures of our division foes, but we're still a middle of the pack team, maybe better. If we beat Philly the top 10 rank will be justified.

Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
But I thought the media hated us? We should be no higher than 33rd across all polls
|
Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
Don't let the liberal media tell you how to think or feel! If you have hate in your heart let it out!
|
Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
Joy......I wonder if Pee Wee Herman and Rebecca Black do power rankings too.

Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
Thanks in part to relatively mistake free play, inconsistency of our adversaries, we have a ranking worthy of mention.

Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
'bout what I would expect, mostly based on records with no real thought put into it...Talk to me after week 17.

Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
Power Rankings in football haven't been much fun for me since the Caps started regularly appearing in the top 3 on the NHL power rankings. Now everytime I see my favorite team ranked outside the top 5 I feel like we're a huge failure. Flowers for Algernon type deal.
Still no need to get ahead of ourselves. This time in 2008 we were ranked 3rd by ESPN after having been ranked 6th the previous week. After a loss to the Rams we dropped to 5 where we stayed until that wonderful Monday Night Contest against the Steelers. Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
The knee jerk reaction of power rankings is what gets me. A team wins a few games, and somehow instead of below average, they are above average, or jumping 10-15 spots in their rankings.
The redskins are still an average team, so anything above 15 is too much. |
Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
yeah, 12-16 is where i'd put us... i honestly wonder if some of these guys even watched a single redskins game.
our offense isn't what it needs to be, though our D has been pretty good. |
Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
Surprised that Don Banks at SI.com puts us at 10. Isn't he the one who said a few years back that we were "the worst 3-0 team in NFL history"?
Jerk. |

Wow that's going pretty darn deep for a football message board, but I like it! |

Jerk.[/quote] That was a few years ago. We're a different team now. |

Definitely. Would almost prefer Don Banks to be hating on us, mainly because I enjoy hating on him so... |
Re: Redskins Weekly Power Rankings
The Redskins have a lot to prove, so lets start against the Eagles. So far we beat the Giants who had some injuries on defense. The Cards have 1 win over the Panthers and were destroyed by the Vikings last week. The Rams have zero wins and we lose to the Cowboys who were without Miles Austin. If we want respect then we better beat the Eagles who are 1-4 and we are at home. JUST WIN BABY
