Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Per Chris Russell: Multiple sources tell @ESPNRadio980 that the #Redskins & medical staff strongly believe that Tim Hightower has a torn ACL, MRI in AM.

re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Of course
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Time to start Helu
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
This season sure has taken a turn south
|
Torain and Helu ftw!
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
This could be a blessing in disguise. I love Tim's heart and motor but Helu is more talented, maybe far more talented, and also has a tremendous work ethic. Anybody read the article on Helu's background? He's like a football monk lol!
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Helu!!!!
Tough break for Hightower.. Love that guy, but man I can't say I haven't wanted to see more of Helu. I'm not really pumped to see Torain, he seems to get so many negative yardage plays. |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
crap........
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Sad news. Torain is a beast but he is not fast enough to be a one cut back. I am a Hightower fan but Helu is the best option.
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
That's a real shame. Tough for THT.
Our pass pro might have taken another hit, because he was a good blocker. |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
TH was promising and young SMH why the skins why?
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
On the good side we do get to see the other talent on the team or the lack thereof.....and the Suck for Lucker's should be.........euphoric as well.
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
not surprising, this is what it looked to be on tv. a non-contact knee injury where it buckled.
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
I think this would mean Royster would be activated
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
I don't know if this is the end of him as a Redskin, but he's at the end of his rookie contract, and didn't set the world on fire in the first six games. On the bright side, it wouldn't be that expensive to bring him back.
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Don't matter Rbs hardly ever come back from serious Knees
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
I like TH's attitude, great pass-pro, nice stretch runner. I hope he recovers and can stay with us, good team guy.
|
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
i liked the way he gave interviews, he was comfortable and genuinely funny on air but btw torrain, helu hightower i dont think we lose too much. he didnt have or bring any above avg talent that cant easily be replaced. his production will be equaled or probably surpassed by the next guy up.
sounded like a truly good natured "gets it" kinda a dude though . .plus home grown |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
hope he comes back, violent runner....Redskins need that fire from someone

This. There was never a doubt in my mind he had torn his ACL. It never seems to fail, when there is no contact injury, it's probably pretty serious. I was pretty sure that it was an ACL when he went down holding his knee. Hopefully, he recovers and can continue his NFL career, whether it's here or not. I've always kinda rooted for him, I hope he can get back and be productive again. |

Practice squad. He'll probably sit there since we plan on signing Larry Johnson....*runs and hides* Seriously though, if Hightower is out Royster would probably be activated. However, we've repeatedly shown interest in Maroney it seems so maybe he's a possibility? I would lean toward Royster being activated |

Yeah, definitely looked ugly. Shame, he is a spark plug for us. We're going to miss his pass-blocking most. For some reason, Torain is either a beast or useless in any given week. Looks like Helu might be more valuable than ever now. Lets see what he can do with more touches. |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
GUYS!! Let's bring back Clinton Portis.
psyche!! I'd rather run sellers at the RB position than watch that idiot come back here. |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
If we're desperate for a blocking back to save Beck's life, I'd take CP back just for that role. We won't get to that point unless Helu and Royster are our only backs...which COULD happen with Torain's injury history. Yikes.

plus, with what we've been hearing about CP's weight, he could always fill in on the Oline if necessary. |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Any word on the injury?

And any word on Fletch, I didn't see his injury. Also the announcers said that he had been vomitting throughout the first half as well (I think that's what they said) Hope he's ok, and able to go going forward. |

Yeah, thats been the case since early this morning. Hightower says that he didnt feel or hear a pop so im hoping theres a chance..... It did look bad though considering there was no contact. I guess well know later today or tomm morning. Also i think SS mentioned in another thread Moss has a broken hand and will miss a month. |

Shanny said after the game yesterday that Rex had pneumonia and was running a 103 degree fever before the game. Yikes! |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
The question is did THT do enough to earn a spot next yr? Like Gtripp said, he's in the last yr of his rookie deal. He's a good in pass pro, solid catching the ball, but I was a bit underwhelmed with his regular season performances, in terms of running the football. His hard work, dedication, and attitude aren't in question, but I think we've established he's not nearly the runner Torain and Helu are. He came in the season as the starter, hoping for a breakout year, but never really established himself as the "everydown" "everyweek" starting RB I thought he could be before the season.

Shanahan typically doesn't really have an "everydown, every week" back. He's had an exception or two over his career, but he loves the committee approach. It's an interesting point, though. Will Tim be back next year? Who knows. I guess it depends on how Helu/Torain play the rest of the season. One thing is for sure, if we want Hightower on the team next year, we can sign him to a much cheaper contract because of this injury than we could have if he stayed healthy and played well all year. |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Moss apparently had surgery on his broken hand.
kjohnsoncsn Kelli Johnson Not good. First Cooley... Now Moss, headed 4 surgery on broken handRT @EIGHTTODANINE: Waitn on the Doc!!! Ready and dressed for surgery... |
re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Shanny has a presser art 3pm... I imagine we'll learn about Hightower's injury then.
