Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
What a game that was. Too bad we lost and too bad we were 3-6 going into the game. I'm not going to lie though, I was kind of hoping we'd just go for two at the end of regulation. If we make it, it's an unbelievable way to win at the end of regulation. If we lose, well we tried and we don't lose any ground in draft positioning.
John Beck Wait, what? John Beck?! He didn't even play!...True, but when I see what this offense has been able to do throwing the ball the past 2 weeks it pisses me off even more that we wasted those weeks with Beck. SmootSmack Dude's a straight up baller...but he was stupid for thinking "it's a good idea to put Beck in there to see what he can do" No, Beck sucks. There was no idea to put him in there to kill our season. Not saying Grossman would have won the games Beck lost. I mean Grossman hasn't won the past two weeks but you feel like there at least would have been a chance DeAngelo Hall I mean the last play was not all on him. He slipped, Atogwe got turned around, Dez made a great adjustment, etc. But raise your hand if you, like me, had that sinking feeling Bryant was going to make a big play even after the Cowboys got pushed back on 3rd and long with a false start. But anyhow, you're out there one on one with Dez Bryant because you say you want to be the man DeAngelo...well then, you gotta be the man Ryan Torain Yeah he's pretty much useless these days |
re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Orakpo - I mean really. What happened to you dude? Were you even out on the field today or were we just playing with 10 guys?
|
re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Cant believe you left Gano off that list
|
re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Gano for missing 2 field goals and coaching staff for not playing Helu more, Torain sucks!

I realize that they line up against different guys but Kerrigan has been much more of a factor all year....WTF Rak? |

I figure there was already enough complaining about him in other threads. Plus I'm not so mad at him for missing that 52 yarder. He's only had one miss from beyond 50 yards this year so yeah I expected him to make it. But I'm more upset we couldn't find someway on that 3rd down to move the ball up a few yards. That's where a running game would have helped us. |
re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Can't lie, I was just happy to see a competitive game today
|
re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Gano but even more on us for thinking he us become a good K what a loser
|
re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Shanny for calling that timeout right as they were about to get a delay of game penalty when going for the FG in overtime. And extra 5 yards and I don't think that kick makes it.
I know he was trying to ice the kicker, but there was almost no time on the playclock and Romo was out of position because he was trying to call timeout even though they didn't have any left. Just a complete bonehead move in my opinion and I'd love to hear him try to explain it, except I'm not going to waste my time watching his presser. |
re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Brian Orakpo. When he wasn't being outright stuffed by Doug Free, he was allowing Tony Romo to scramble to the left, and then we get burned by sandlot football with Romo and friends.
Gano - **** you. My Suisham sense is tingling. Cut his ass. Cut him now. Choking against the Dallas Cowboys is a crime. A ****ING CRIME. Real Redskins do not choke against the Dallas Cowboys. |

Cannot deny it...The boys have been a little hot lately and I thought this game.....could get out of hand in a hurry.....the wrong way. Httr |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Did anyone catch Bradshaw talking about Barkley and the skins this AM? I missed it
|
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Gano - leading the league in misses and missed 2 more today. God damn it, can we just get better here
Torain - effing sux, i hate this f*cking guy Oline Run Blocking - Effing blows, so ready to get rid of Montgomery at C and get a new guard Our Safety Play the entire f*cking year - God damn it Im sick and f*cking tired seeing the Laron and OJ out and have to see these muther****ers Gomes and Reed play Fred Davis - another stupid play to give up an easy td to start the game Haslett - Some of his calls the second half of the game is just mind boggling. Good first half, poor second half Injuries - I hate this b*tch. im sure Silverback is out for the ****ing year. |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
The secondary in particular DHall, needs a smackdown. As does Rex Grossman overthrowing open receivers.

All that stuff is premeditated anyway. "Hey ref, watch me and wait until there's one second left then I'm going to call time out" In that scenario, Shanahan isn't really paying attention to the field. More so the clock. On that kick though, quite a few people in the stadium (Redskins fans and otherwise) think he may have actually missed. I'd have to see the replay |

Eh I think Grossman is probably a stud this week. Grossman could've done A LOT worse. |
Re: Smmot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Great game. we played a good dallas team very competative all day. I have said all along that Rex should have never been benched. The team as a whole plays better. Passing game is more north south, defense seems to play more inspired.
DeAngelo Hall absolutely f'n kills me. Two big 3rd down plays (3rd and long) he is playing 15 yards off the receiver and its basic pitch and catch. I can give a shit if he slipped. He plays up on Bryant, chucks him at the line, timing is off and play is incomplete. I am sick of watching him give up big 3rd down conversions this year. He runs his damn mouth all game and does nothing, and can't tackle for shit. Where was Helu?? Ran the ball very effective when he was in, and he is a beast out of the backfield. Can't understand why he isn't in the game as the primary back. The biggest issue of the day, the biggest issue of the year last year, GRAM F"N GANO.... How is this guy still employed?? He is the worst kicker in the NFL. No one has missed more field goals this year than him, and no one has missed more FG over the last two years than him. When can we get a damn kicker that can atleast make a 40 yard field goal?? I dont care about how young he is, how strong his leg is, he has cost us numerous games over the last two years by missed extra points, missed field goals....it is ridiculous. He needs to go. |

So much for 40 times. Witten was not gonna be caught. Too "fast". |

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Quit the bitching about Gano, at least he wasn't that Bama kicker that missed 4 FGs. I lay this egg on Shanny, just for keeping Torain in when he was getting stuffed. Helu had over a 4 ypc. Choice was a waste of a pickup!!!!! I thought Shanny using Torain last week would have been enough to figure out that he is a future cut, but I guess he needs more time to make that decision final. Oh boy another position we need to draft for next April!!!!!!! Rex didn't play so badly, too bad he can't repeat this performance more than 3 games in a row, maybe Beck would have stayed on the bench. Gaffney was a very nice FA pickup. He is a gamer, and might be Moss' future replacement. I would have like to see Niles Paul in there making some grabs, instead we had no names again making some plays. I guess our draft wasn't as hot as we originally thought. Too much easy access to Kool Aid in here.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
im too furious still ... but ...
defense barely any pressure.. haslett blows on 3rd down.. hasnt installed any effective blitz packages at all, i dont like the 3-4 still. d hall high risk high reward.. played shitty 3/4 of the day today. reed doughty is junk. torrain is average at best, aka junk. play helu. john beck should be cut from the team and never shoulda saw the ****in field. he sucks. kyle got into a groove today but there were some head scratchers.. REFS. ****in blow dick. not one holding call on the dallas o line all game? really? as i watched blatant holds that allowed romo to scramble and make game changing/ winning plays? really? **** off. pieces fo shit. gano.... ya gotta hit both of those kicks... even nick novak hits that kick for us lol, dunno what happened he was getting better. go back to the 4-3 or watch Rak get stood up and get lost in coverage, the 3-4 is wasting our front 7 talent IMO. i dunno thats all i got right now... oh and fred davis u need to hold onto the ****in ball. |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Didn't know where the post this... But Redskins Post Game says T.Williams has a sprained MCL. Gonna get an MRI on it tomorrow.

They should accommodate his wishes, anyone that gets outraced by a TE (Witten) should. |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
If D Hall never plays another down for us, I'll be happy. He sucks.
3rd down defense for it's constant failures to get off the field. |

No pressure - 4 or 5 sacks last i counted haslett suck on 3rd down - one of the best (top 5 ) in the NFL on 3rd down Hall - i agree sucked in coverage today especially 3rd downs. 3/4 is working ... we are getting players to play in this and I think we are moving in the right direction Play Helu - agree Kyle's play calling was good - personel decisions not so favorable. Gano - f'n sucks - needs to be fired Refs - obvious hold on the TD that put them ahead in the 4th quarter..dont know how that was missed fred davis, decent game. lost the ball on a very close call fighting for yards. not blaming him. |

They just need to stick Helu in there and quit all this nonsense with rotating backs. |
I'm happy we will get Barkley or RG3 so I'll take a loss I hate Dallas but I want a QB
Agreed. Like I said earlier and will continue to say, Andrew Luck is still a possibilty for us, especially with QB's like Barkley and Griffin playing as great as they are playing. I could easily see Indy swapping picks with us to get Barkley and another first rounder, for Luck. |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Mike Shanahan's game management was pitiful. Today, I think is an excellent example of how the Redskins can become competitive with other NFC East teams thanks to an already-arrived (but inconsistent and undisciplined) defense, but how Shanahan is still going to struggle to win every week the way the game is played today.
With that said, I was sure that Shanahan was going to go for two after the Stallworth TD. We've seen him do that before (2008 - Denver-San Diego). It would have been the perfect time to call the best play the team has in the red zone - if the play gets overturned, it's a fourth down must have, if not, the same play wins the game. I understand playing conservatively, but after passing that up, I can't defend the decision to kick a 52 yard FG. After passing up a 48% chance to win, that's not the probability play. Also, the ice the kicker timeout is the worst play in football. |
Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
Haslett and the DBs coach need to fix the secondary. Both of our starting corners gave up key plays and TDs (actually I think Wilson gave up both TDs). We need a young FS with good covering skills, and I guess Landry will be back next season but he needs to be healthy.
Our running game is pathetic and I don't understand why we are not giving Helu the ball. Still, our running plays are terrible and the off tackle stretch runs need to stop. I know that's part of the offensive scheme but here's a crazy idea...ADAPT to something that WORKS!! |
Can't lie, I was just happy to see a competitive game today
Me too. We finally played an exciting, competitive game. It sucks that we lost but at least this loss is not so depressing. On another note, I love Helu but he needs to develop more strength so that he can break more tackles. |

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Cowboys at Redskins)
I'm not even mad about this loss tonight. This team should me exactly what I thought they would be. A competitive and scrappy team that were in the games, but barely lost out (or won) in the end. The previous weeks had been a disappointment because I thought the team was much more capable than what they had displayed.
I got labeled a D. Hall hater a year ago for saying he wasn't that good, and even went on to point out the stats. There are times when D. Hall plays tight coverage on the guy like he was his second shadow or something, and then turns around and gives up a 3 and 15 play. It's frustrating because the guy could be so much more, but plays with little discipline. Not even going to hate on Gano for that missed 52 yard FG, but the guy needs to step it up. He's currently the ranked #31 kicker out of 34. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?seasonType=REG&d-447263-n=1&d-447263-o=2&d-447263-p=1&d-447263-s=KICKING_FG_PCT&tabSeq=0&season=2011&Submit=Go&experience=null&archive=false&statisticCategory=FIELD_GOALS&conference=null&qualified=true Orakpo seemed to be dominated the whole game by Doug Free. He needs to start developing a better move if he's going to improve on his career. Otherwise, it's going to be a flash in the pan one trick pony. I'm going to say something about Kyle and not in regards to the play calling. The play calling was fine today, but why is he continuing to run Torain? Helu is averaging over 4 yards per carry and he's still trying to run that bum? Really? |

Why would we do that when we could just grab Barkley our self? Wouldn't make since one bit. |
