Smackin' it down
In no particular order:
Grossman - just didn't play well, errant on too many throws, too many mental errors. I've never seen a QB take as many grounding calls as this guy does. Here was the real issue though... 46 pass attempts? Really Kyle? Playcalling - Helu had 23 carries but it felt like he should've had at least 10 more. Really Kyle? Pass rush - where was our's today? D-Hall - you've gotta make that INT, we needed a playmaker to step up in that spot. Gano - big props for going 4/4 on FGs... but that short kickoff was horrible and a pivotal play. Can't have that crap. And finally the smack down of the day to Trent Williams and Fred Davis. Some of these guys still have a lot of growing up to do. Who gets your smack down? |
Re: Smackin' it down
My smack down goes to Kerrigan and Orakpo. WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND D.HALL CUT YOUR YOURSELF< BECAUSE YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Smackin' it down
Our D-line sucked big time. I like Cofield but he is no NT. Hall and Doughty each dropped a pick each, but wharever, there were bigger isues to b*tch about just this.
I still cant believe Kyle passing three times in a row with 5 mins left and three timeouts. |
My smack down goes to Kerrigan and Orakpo. WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND D.HALL CUT YOUR YOURSELF< BECAUSE YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Late season meltdowns on the Warpath, always nice. Honestly I'm quite apathetic when it comes to the Skins, you kinda expect them to fail in seasons like these so when they actually win a game you are pleasantly surprised. |
Re: Smackin' it down
Refs not calling a ROUGHING the kicker call. Those ****ing zebras.
|
Re: Smackin' it down
The Shanahans.
Our play calling still blows and we have no QB. I could only watch on the Red Zone but it appeared the whole defense went to sleep in the last quarter. |
Re: Smackin' it down
Also, Jamaal Brown. Wrecked by Aaron Maybin. Speed rushers are his worst nightmare. Anyone who thinks he can replace Trent at LT need to be raked over coals.
|
Re: Smackin' it down
Grossman 14 consecutive games with an interception. Who does he think he is? Trent Dilfer!!
|

Naw, Chad Henne. Oh wait, Grossman came first. haha. |

Or the hold while Sanchez was on his own endzone that should've been a safety for us. |
Re: Smackin' it down
REX GROSSMAN- Should have just kept Jason Campbell
4th QTR D- Guys I know the offense is a joke but show some heart Josh Wilson- Owned by Holmes Santana Moss- For always talking up Rex, dude you make yourself look like an Idiot. |

Re: Smackin' it down
My smack down goes to Helu, Fred Davis, and Gano. Why the hell are you all trying to help us win!?! haha but seriously we need to ultimately lose cause we are done.
my smack down goes to Jammal Brown. I hope you get cut because your surgery didn't help you it made you worse. Also LaRon Landry, I mean you were "good to go" all week and last moment, bam your injured again so we have to put in reed Doughty. I want you on this team next year man, but at this point its not looking likely. |
Re: Smackin' it down
Helu gave his all against the Jets. Moss dropped some passes out there yesterday. Grossman as usually, turned the ball over. It's a given that Rex Grossman will turn the ball over at least twice a game and it's a laughable shame. Fred Davis and Trent Williams, two bright spots on offense, will be suspended for the remainder of the season because they love weed so much.
Did Jabar Gaffney catch at least one pass yesterday? He was completely nonexistent. Going into week 14, isn't it time for Mike Shanahan to lift Jonathon Crompton from the practice squad to see what he can do? Hell, if he can plug in a guy who hadn't played in a regular season game at QB in for years, then he can promote Crompton and let him play. What harm is in that at this point of this miserable season? |
Re: Smackin' it down
My smackdown(s) go to Kyle Shannahan and Gano.
Kyle - We were having success running against the Jets early, which set up some plays down field. For what ever reason, we stopped running and became extremely predictable. I was calling out runs on 2nd down quite a few times after failing miserably on first down. Just dont understand how a game so close until the final minutes has a QB throwing 46 times. Helu was averaging 6 yards a freaking carry. Gano - Yeah he was 4-4 on field goals, something we are not use to at all. But when he made that field goal at the end of the game, I said he can't do two things in a row under pressure and sure enough he jacked up the kick. I actually expected him to yank it out of bounds, which would have actually been better. |
Re: Smackin' it down
and forgot one
Santana Moss - Normally not one to go one here, but dude dropped, missed, 2 or 3 balls that would have been big gains. One may have been a TD. The balls where well thrown, went literally between his hands. Have to make those plays. |
Re: Smackin' it down
How about that "helmet to helmet" call on Gomes? Didn't come anywhere near Sanchez' head. If anything it was a late hit after the whistle ... the referees just can't get it right this year.
|
Moss is one of my fav skins but his age seems to be catching up to him this season
|
Re: Smackin' it down
my only one other than above, Danny Smith. Ultimately, Special Teams has cost us a fair number of games this year. I know players execute, and I think Danny Smith is an above average ST coach, but, without checking numbers, a high percentage of ST plays have simple mistakes, penalties, botched snaps, etc. I think he will be the coach that goes this offseason.
|
Re: Smackin' it down
Pass rush; this has been the case for a while now. Our sack #s have been inflated by good coverage all year. Yesterday even when the coverage was there Sanchez wasn't pressured into bad throws.
I disagree big time w/calling out D. Hall. That almost pick was a nice break on the ball, he makes that play a lot, it wasn't as much a "drop" when I saw it the second time. But other than Holmes beating wilson on the double move td, the secondary played another good game. Holmes & Plax made a few plays but Sanchez went to check downs & screens a lot cause the coverage was good. If there was any consistent pressure it would've been a different game. Of course, Rexy & our O., but I don't expect much of them, we all know we need some major upgrades at QB, WR & O line. |
Re: Smackin' it down
Thanks for stepping in Matty. I think the ones I would have said have already been covered-Kyle, Run Defense, Gano

That wasn't Gomes. That was Kevin Barnes and I'm sure the league officials will review it. If it was indeed helmet to helmet, then Barnes will get a hefty fine for it I'm certain. |

I could be wrong but I think it is running into the kicker if they hit the plant leg and roughing if they hit the kicking leg....I could be wrong but I think I recently heard this on one of the broadcasts. |

Re: Smackin' it down
I don't know if I can "smack" the playcalling. Sure, hindsight sais we could have run it a few more times, but our run game was starting to get clogged up in there. I can't fault him for trying to get things opened up a little.
|

Agree, and Grossman who kept the INT streak alive. Way to go Rex |
Re: Smackin' it down
Rex-but I don't feel good about giving him a smackdown. That's like giving a smackdown to a goat for eating grass. That's what he does. He looks like an average QB sometimes and looks like a drunk toddler. I don't even get mad at him anymore when he does dumb stuff because that's just who he is.
Jammal Brown-While he did a better job in the run game, he is a major liability vs. speed rushers. I hope we give this position at least a look in the offseason. 4th quarter defense-All of them. Can't point out just a couple of players, they all failed. Kyle-Dude, I've been a staunch supporter of you and really think you've got something for us once the pieces are in place. BUT-your insistence to keep throwing and throwing and throwing in some spurts is maddening. 46 attempts for Rex Grossman?!?! In a game we had a 3 point lead entering the 4th quarter? Whew. Get your life together son, that's ridiculous. |
Re: Smackin' it down
Kyle come to the game with more than two run plays. Toss right, toss left, today. Stretch right, stretch left, yesterday. Try mixing up it a little dude. When I have a pretty good idea of what you will be calling, your wrong.
Grossman is hot garbage. My wife who barely knows the rules of football watched with me for a bit and after 15 minutes asked "don't you have another QB that guy sucks." WRs - All of them. The fact that David Anderson has seen the field at all this year is not a good sign. Get some separation due to skill and not blown coverage. Either our QBs hold on to the ball way to long because they like to or you guys take 7 seconds to get open. Banks - Brandon [P] Banks, Please Go NOW! And take Danny Smith with you. |
Re: Smackin' it down
It's the same old things with this team. Gano..WTF dude? You kick 4 fg's and chunk a kick off? Gotta get rid of this guy. He's just not a clutch kicker. Kyle...it seems that he just has no feel for the game. When we need to run he passes and vice versa. Time to get a new playcaller next year. Secondary...you guys are simply not a good coverage unit. Can anyone back there man cover? Nope. And why is Hall playing off Plax? Plax probably runs a 5.0 40. No need to give him a 10 yard custion you idiot. So awful. Trent and Fred...you guys are simply not winners. This is your 3rd offense! Not only are both of you stupid, but you let down your team. Both should have to earn starting spots next year. We simply can't win with guys like this.

I've been on the refs all year long. They simply suck. Every week, every game we see horse shit calls and yesterday was no different. Hopefully the competition people will put a stop to this non sense in the off season. |

Sanchez actually ducked his head and that's why it was helmet to helmet. There was no intent but the refs are just too stupid to see the difference. |

You thinking he doesnt come back? |
Re: Smackin' it down
Pass rush/run D was terrible. We didn't bring pressure on Sanchez at all. And Shonn Greene hasn't done anything all year, and he pops us for 3 scores? Come on, man!
I'm so done with so many guys on this team. Rex Grossman, Brandon Banks, D'Angelo Hall in particular. |
Re: Smackin' it down
Josh Wilson has had some good games this year but the Jets game was not one of them.
|

He got burned on the TD pass but where was OJ? It looked like Wilson was suppose to get help on that play. I've got some smack for OJ cause he hasn't done a damn thing all year long. I don't think the guy has 1 INT. |
Re: Smackin' it down
Not sure how I missed Gano. I've seen enough of him also. Plenty of people pooh pooh kickers but we can't continue to ignore players who are counted on to put points on the board and establish field position with basic tasks like NOT kicking the ground before the ball. Clown.
|
Re: Smackin' it down
And like people have already stated- Kyle Shanahan. I just don't think he's a good coordinator. His play design is really solid- guys are open all the time, we just don't have a QB. But his playcalling is terrible. 46 passing attempts with Rex freaking Grossman? Throwing that much in the 4th qtr when only down one score? Pffffft....
