Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Good for him. The best thing any top flight college player can do is get out of college and into the pros as fast as they can.
|
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Yep. This a good move for this kid.
|
Me wantee.

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Good news, If he falls to us then take him.

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
GSwaim BigTime TV/Radio
#ESPN just said what we've been hearing all week, that the #Sooners Landry Jones will declare for the NFL Draft. 30 Dec Favorite Retweet Reply For the first time ever. No one can say that next years class.......will be better.................................................. .................................................. ................................................. .................................. JAJAA I made a funny. Of course next years class be better.
Good news, If he falls to us then take him.
He won't. We have to trade up with the likes of St. Louis, Minnesota, or Jacksonville in which case I believe we would trade with St. Louis since they're not only highest but we have the history of dealing with their front office. |

I dont want him. He's not a pro style QB and that college style QB doesnt win Super Bowls. |
I dont want him. He's not a pro style QB and that college style QB doesnt win Super Bowls.
Drew Brees' ring has gone missing!
Pro QB's also don't throw for 5,000 yards. Those are college numbers anyway. |

Get that kid in a Redskins uniform !

RGIII is another version of Michael Vick (a runner who is an ok passer) and that doesnt win Super Bowls. Sure RGIII threw for a bunch of yards but in college WRs are open by yards and in the pros its inches so college numbers are often misleading. I'm just not sure about RGIII's accuracy. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
So what QB are you fine with irish ? They are all coming out of college, they have all gained a lot of yards and thrown many a touchdown...in college. So which one are you fine with ?

No one throws the deep ball with more accuracy than RG3. To say he's just an ok passer if flat out wrong. He's more than just an ok passer.

There you go again. Taking anything negative anyone says about RGIII personally, and reacting by assuming that anyone who doesn't love him must never watch any college football. Stop it dude. Your man crush on RGIII is exhausting. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
If Cam Newton can do it, Griffin III can do it too. He could stay for his senior season but why risk his stock when there's no guarantee that he'll be sizzling hot like he is at the present. It's better for him to turn pro. And I'm not saying this because the Redskins need his services. What I am saying? Of course I am!

Thanks for the take man. Accuracy in a QB is all I think about. Accuracy is of pinnacle importance to me. I remember like it was yesterday the draft where everyone was talking about Alex Smith and I kept thinking, "but this Rodgers guy has pinpoint accuracy!". If you say RG3 has accuracy on top of all his other gifts, then I say, get him by any means necessary.

I am not provoking you, I am genuinely baffled and have had the discussion with my fellow fans countless times and the opinions vary from trade up to get Luck if the Rams trump the Colts for worst record to signing Peyton Manning as a two year stop-gap.

So do you agree or disagree with my assessment? Go right ahead and challenge me so I can make you look like buffoon once again. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Lets evaluate the QB's the way Shanahan will.

Yes, he's an extremely accurate passer. I would trade up to get him for a reasonable price. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
RG3 does a great job of getting his receivers the ball so they can catch it and run. I have concerns about his size and tendency to run soon after his first option is out.

You didn't get the joke? Theres a rumor that Shanahan likes to evaluate players based on highlights thinking that he can increase the frequency of any players best plays. |

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
It's true that he likes to see the highlights to see the player at their best. But he doesn't only look at the highlights
|
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Wow!

Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
It's not all that uncommon, especially at the HC level

Be careful. And I'm sorry your memory is failing you, but last time it was myself and CRedskinsRule that made you look extremely buffoon-ish. You got basically got punked and never responded. |

Agree. He's MUCH smaller than Cam Newton and is too quick to pull it down and run a lot of times. He pulls that stuff in the NFL, and he won't stay healthy long. |

Me too and that predisposition to run is what I mean by not a pro style QB. |

What exactly was I wrong about? I wasn't in love with RGIII before and I'm still not. The moment anyone criticizes him you catch feelings, then proceed to declare that that person doesn't watch any college football. Pretty weak man. And I would be careful about saying everything you declared has come true. Maybe wait until he's successful in the NFL before dubbing yourself a prophet. |
Re: RGIII declares for NFL draft
Bottom Line Landry44, you have a tendency to post on here (particularly those who don't agree with you) as if you're god's gift to this forum. And anyone ekse's opinion is beneath you, with your constant "it's obvious you don't watch college football" If you really feel you're smarter than all of us that's fine but then why do you stay? If not, then you gotta change your tone
|

I can see him turning into Vick 2.0. Then who's in to save us? Why it's Sexy Rexy as he gets signed to another 1 year contact to play backup! |

I don't have any concerns with RGIII, but rather my concerns are with this staffs ability to teach their scheme and/or adapt to his college concepts. That's why I would prefer a pro-style QB but RGIII would be the top QB on my board scheme not withstanding. I've watched a bunch of Baylor games and imo he doesn't locks and bail after his 1st progression any more then any other college QB. Imo you cannot be tops in passing efficiency by locking onto and bailing after your 1st progression. But, that's a coachable anyhow. I like RGIII because of his skillset. I hope people aren't expecting Can Newton though. |

To say that RG3 isn't a accurate passer if false. Anyone who watches college football know what I'm saying is the truth. Do you agree or disagree? Answer that question before you just to another irrelevant subject.

Then answer his question asking "What exactly was I wrong about" first. Talk about irrelevancy. "You was wrong about RG3 and I was right" is a great facts based rebuttal to his question. And then you tell him he's irrelevant? I love hypocrites.... PS, your grammar is atrocious. And since you don't object to any criticism as long as it's valid, and my points are all valid, there is no objection, correct? Do you agree or disagree? Answer that question before you just to another irrelevant subject. |

Second, Mike Vick has always been a gifted passer, his decision making and knowledge of the passing game was horrendous. He's just now become a better decision maker. When you refer to RGIII as a version of Vick, you're paying RGIII a huge compliment. (remember: Vick was the unquestioned No.1 pick in his draft class) I agree college numbers are misleading, and all college QBs will have to make the adjustment passing into smaller windows in the NFL. What about RGIII's accuracy aren't you sure about? |
