Rod Gardner supposedly requested a trade and the Redskins FO okayed it.

WR is a high priority. Seemed sort of aloof when talking about McCants. High hopes for Jacobs. Loves Thrash

They're looking for someone at WR who is talented and they can build around. Jacobs and Thrash are two guys we'd look at. WR is going to be a high priority this offseason.

They're going to look to solve the WR "problem" via free agency first and then the draft.

Medically, Mike Barrow should be fine, but the team still needs to consider "other things." I suppose he was talking about the salary cap etc.

He expects only to lose a few core group Redskins due to the salary cap.

Dodged a question about tagging Smoot.

Gibbs is being pretty cryptic about resigning guys. He said the standard, "We'd like to re-sign X.....but we need to consider the salary cap implications."

Gibbs told Portis that they struggled on offense, but Portis had a great year.

Jansen has been "turned loose" by his doctors.

Jansen is a force on the field and a great presence in the locker room so we're eager to get him back.

I am really itching for some kind of resigining or somthing to happen soon. Especially Perice and Samuels. I'd love Smoot too, but I'm not holding my breath for that one.

Bowen began jogging this week and is progressing well.

Khary Campbell is progressing well but he'll take awhile to recover.

John Hall....really looking hard there because that's a huge deal to the team.

Clinton Portis is fine, Andre Lott is doing well, John Simon returned to Redskins park, Clifton Smith returning to the Park, (there was more but I missed it).

It sound's like we are defiently targeting a big time reciever in the draft seem's to be our top priority, Gibb's believes Jacob;s and Thrash are defiently reciever's we can build around, sound's like he's not to enthused about McCant's, Gardner is as good as gone he asked for a trade and Gibb's said he agreed, but also said basically we are not giving him away he want's good value in return [obviously] Lavar's knee is still an issue, basically had to defend himself early on about retirement because some reporters have to drum up controversy.

Thank god he addressed this silly retirement thing. It was never an issue to start with, but as we know the media loves to make something out of nothing.

I haven't listened to it for myself yet but going from what you guys have said regarding the WR corps it sounds pretty much like we've been saying all along. Gardner is likely on his way out, Jacobs and Thrash are keepers, McCants is also probably gone unless Gibbs has a sudden change of heart, and they'll look to free agency and then the draft to fill the holes.

Did he mention Coles and his situation at all?? How about Samuels?

He said they've pretty much decided against surgery for Coles. And he said something about how Samuels is a big part of the team, and part of the reason why is that his salary is so big that it affects other decisions.

So basically Samuels is gone unless he restructures....

He also said that he loves free agency, that it's his favorite development in the NFL since he last retired. He loves the idea of being able to essentially scout players on other teams and go after them.

Maybe since he now knows the offense and he has chemistry with Ramsey, they will MAKE him rest more this offseason to get it healed up......last year he had a new offense and a new left-handed QB to get used to.

Matty - Coles should take a paycut so he's getting paid what he's worth then. He's certainly lost a step, and in my opinion if they knew he was going to rest it, should have taken the end of the season off so he could get back to conditioning earlier.
